Just a rumor, but worth a look. There seems to be some extra "holes" on either side of the back buttons. Possibly a fingerprint scanner or extra flash.

I hope that isn't a speaker grill that they couldn't decide which side of the back to put it on.

I have to agree. If it were a finger print scanner, the camera would be blocked off my the user's finger.

Yeah considering we have one flash on the side already, why not make it symmetrical?

I read somewhere that is is for a secondary camera to have a more precise picture quality.
Maybe it's for the IR blaster like on the Flex?
I read one is a holographic projector and the other is a food replicator.
The cutout looks exactly like my g flex. It makes more sense to put the IR blaster on the back, it's much easier to use when you can see the whole screen.

Is it going to cook food like in Back to the Future? That would be a great feature to have. I have all these really tiny pizzas that need to be enlarged.

Kinda looks like dual flash. Having it on both sides like that will give more even lighting

It is probably due to limited space that the Flyer does not have a slot to insert the pen. They will probably give you a case with the device to hold the pen. However, this would make it a little too bulky to put the device inside a jacket pocket.
So I guess that it would not take long before you misplaced the pen.
If you lose it, you shouldn't own it
I'm sure there will be a case with the flyer which will have a slot for the pen, or the pen will at least have a clip on it.
I would lose it in a month because my kids would do something silly with like let it fall in the couch. My kids like to play with my Android devices and I love them so I can't deny them lol.

So I am correct in saying that the stylus is not going to slot into the Flyer like say the Touch Diamond? If not that is really big design flaw from HTC. The Diamond has (from what I have seen) the best way to store the stylus via magnets and into the body. Hope they are not expensive, can see myself losing it in and around the house and at work...
You would think they would make a case for it so you have a slot to hold the pen when your not using it

Don't know, unfortunately. The HTC guy just said something along the lines of
"like those cases over there"
...but they never actually went 'over there' during the interview
One of the official folio cases has an external pocket for the pen. Personally I would prefer an internal pen loop.

Got my flyer today. Inside the package I've found a white leather pouch case with magnetic flap on top and an external pocket(ring of leather) for pen housing.
Just wondering, how many of you have a gap? Also where is it located and do you care? I have a small but long gap on the top by the power button. I also have a hang around the bottom speaker. I'm just worried that over time dust will collect under the screen.

Was gonna exchange it but I'm not gonna be super anal about it. It's not even that bad.

What gap are you guys referring to?
If there is a gap on this phone, it's not enough to be an issue at all to me. I'd be hard pressed to find any imperfections in either of the two we have in the house.

I don't have any gaps or overhangs on my phone. Just 2 minor stuck pixels that you can barely see.

I don't think you need to worry about dust. I had dust with my sensation but the screen was different. These new LCD panels have zero gap between the LCD and the glass. I personally wouldnt have noticed any gaps if you guys had better things to do than to point out these little oddities with your phones. My device is perfect in my eyes so I think that's all that matters. Wow this phone feels nice. Not the easiest to grip without a case but it's very easy on the eyes.

I agree... it's really crummy plastic. But my wife's note 2 camera lens is in much better shape than this after several months

I'm confused, do you not still have the piece of plastic on the lens from factory? That covers the entire thing to the shiny plastic ring.
You have factory plastic on still. That will scratch very easily. Remove it.

Lol.
Looks like the plastic was still on! Hahaha.
Thanks for the heads up dude.
Just peeled it off and the lens looks brand new (because it is).
Now hopefully the plastic screen won't do the same thing to the actual lens.
Can anyone else comment on whether their S-View case is causing damage after the plastic has been removed?
Thanks again

The plastic doesn't cover where the lens is actually used for pictures, just the glass around it. I don't think it would make a difference.

Good question.
I honestly can't tell if this camera reacts differently to light than my s3. I feel like the s3 allowed more light in and took “brighter photos" at Lower res.
I'm going to need to mess around with this more to figure out the camera.
To answer your question, I don't know. I need to take some more photos!

I love mine, but the cutout for the headphone jack is terrible. Looking for something similar that will actually allow me use a pair of headphones/auxiliary cable.

I will say though, just use a nice bluetooth stereo headset and this issue becomes nonexistent!

Mine was like this also until I took the case off and broke in the power button a bit. Basically, with the case off, just press the power button on the case in really hard up to ten times to break in the rubber. The button was better after that, guess the "hinge" part of the button was too stiff.
My power button is great. Didn't have to do any of that.

I don't mind the stiff response from the power button, I've had some that pressed too easily and turned on/off in my pocket or accidentally wrote I was holding a phone.
I mostly leave the phone on and wake it with the home button or by pulling out the S pen.

Neither. They are both sourcing them from the same supplier that allows their clients to brand the product.

It's not stiff, it's mushy. Saying "it's harder to press" actually means it's harder to activate/trigger. The material squishes and tilts instead of pushing straight down into the original button making it require much more travel to activate reliably.
Hey guys this is well and truly a sad post
I've had my phone for nearly 3 weeks and on the second day I went out and bought a screen protector and a case for my phone as I wanted to keep it in prestine condition
Unfortunately, they didn't have back protectors. Which is the area that has scrathed the most !
They are light scratches except for one where you can feel it just slightly, and the others ( which there are a lot ) you can't.
I normally have a case on it but when I'm at home I take it out and let it be free aha
Have you guys got ant on yours?
