I don't know of any apps, I'm sure they're out there, but If you call your service provider or just search online you'll see what they use...I doesn't change
I called them and they said 850.
Which Amaze 4G supports 3/4G on the 850 band? the x715m or x715e? Can't find a definitive answer

Hi guys, I am involved in a deal regarding an international GSII, and have been reading conflicting reports on this.. GSM arena says it supports the 1700 and 2100 bands but I have read other things that say it only receives EDGE?
Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Forgot it is 1700 (should be), that is not supported on the i9100. It can connect to tmobile due toe the 850, which is edge speed.
GSMarena says the i9100 supports 1700 only for telus (another variation of i9100 probably)
Yes, T-Mobile needs the 1700 and 2100 bands but GSM arena says it does indeed have both so I'm a bit confused.

From GSMarena:
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
The one below that is probably another variation of the i9100 for telus.
Well ****. Guess I gotta pick up a hotspot as well.

Hi
i want to buy an Tmob AMAZE 4G but i'v noticed that there are 2 types of AMAZE'S with different bands :
http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_amaze_4g-4097.php
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 1700 / 2100
or
HSDPA 1700 / 1900 / 2100
HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100
in Israel im using the HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 bands how i'll know that the device is match the bands?
regards
just look at the place you are buying from they should mention it.. ebay seller should mention it and also stores
and if you are in cellcom you only need the 2100 band.
orange and cellcom use 3g 2100 band and pelephone use 850 band
im buying 2nd hand/...
When I was in Palestine, I used my phones and they all worked on Orange. I have my Amaze box in my hand. The T-Mobile Amaze has the 850/900/1800/1900/2100 frequencies. So it will work.

Hey, did you get the T-Mobile Amaze 4G and use it on the 850 band?
I have windmobile amaze 4g (same as Tmob works on aws) and I have used Sims from other carriers including 850 and works fine. Of course, my phone is unlocked.

Well it will certainly work to make calls, but the main issue is whether or not it will work on the 850 MHz band to use 3G and 4G. That's what I need clarified.
Looks like your question was answered. In the future, all question related threads belong in the Q&A section only. Thank You.

So the i9100 supports the 1700 band? So if I unlocked it I could get 3g service from T-Mobile here in America?

Well, yes and no, but really no for what you're asking.
The i9100 does NOT support 1700mhz for UMTS, but does for voice. So as a result, it does NOT get 3g on T-mobile, since T-mobile in the US uses AWS for high speed packet data, which requires BOTH 1700 and 2100 for 3g/"4g".
I wouldn't trust that GSM Arena spec page.

Hello, I'm wondering if I can put a T-Mobile radio onto this phone .... ( does it have the ability) I am trying to get 3g on simple mobile and they use T-Mobile now....
Im also wondering what the best CWM recovery is best ... ( been awhile since I unlocked a bootloader and such )
Thanks all

No idea about T-Mobile, but as far as CWM goes I like sk8's CWM touch version (14.4.7) in the Dev section of these forums. You can just flash it over whichever recovery you end up with after unlocking the bootloader.

Find a variant with the same bands as T-Mobile and try their modem. There is not one specifically for T-Mobile as T-Mobile does not carry this device and picked the nexus 4 instead.
