Here attached a application which can generate required info on Int SD card in form of
Dr.Ketan_flashingTool_report1_your device model.txt and Dr.Ketan_flashingTool_report2_your device model.txt
Kindly attach both report here on thread and then I can add support for S5 different models.
-Install attach apk
-Long press on generate report
-Once you get flash msg about report generated, look to Int SD card for above said file.
PS : This is not Backup Tool but just info generating tool, once i will have info I will make tool.

Can anyone confirm if there is any truth that the fsg and backup partitions contain backups of the modemst1 and modemst2 partitions?
I only have a backup of efs, fsg, and modem partitions and I think I need to get my modemst1 and/or modemst2 partitions restored. Everything works except I seem to have lost my 4G/LTE Band information for US Cellular.
I cannot recall if I did a nvbackup but I had read somewhere that it could be possible I do have backup of modemst1 and modemst2 already.
How can I check if I have good backups before doing an nvrestore?
This is on a Galaxy S4 Mini (SCH-R890).

There's no efs folder on Ace, so you cannot make a backup of it.

And there is enough material written in ace forum itself about it so searching would definitely do job rather than inventing wheel right now

In SGS you can find a folder, named efs, and you should make a backup of it, before you flash a new rom.
That's why I wrote, what I wrote.

That partition is not mounted by default and many users ****ed there phones by doing things..

Which developer in sga told you to do that??
Every phone is designed differently
No developer has told me anything. I have read many threads saying to backup efs folder without fail you can lose your imei and I don't want to lose mine . I couldn't figure out how to do it in sga

Try it out
It's just posted in the general section of sga 'how to recover imei.. ' thread
It gave a notification of efs backed up but in the nitrality/backup/efs folder its empty

If you're smart enough to mount /efs to backup and unmount /efs the manual way , you would have a backup , but unfortunately you will need to know how to create a new partition if you lose your efs

I am trying to make changes to my AT&T SGS5 to enable T-Mobile bands, so that I can get HSPA+ instead of EDGE off of my non-refarmed tower.
This would be similar to the process of restoring a changed QCN to effect NV programming like they were able to do on SGS4 (see this YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eb0iCtG4T6I)
Note that I can make NV changes, but I just need a good T-Mobile G900T QCN file to work from (again, mine is AT&T G900A...)
Feel free to remove (using any hex editor) your IMEI from line 550 for your protection.

No bricking, warranty is not void, and no knox is tripped when you do this via backup, but you must be rooted to get to the USB service menu *#0808# and if you are rooted, you already know what you are doing with your phone...

Without IMEI, it's just a config file, so if it's all the same to you, you could also post it here so that it can help those who are hacking the next level of greatness with out phones...

Do you need it as a qcn or will the config file work for you. After I edit it in winhex and save it , I can figure out how to save as qcn or if that is even possible.? I haven't used Qpst in a long time . It is a very helpful tool where the limits are endless

Hey I just put up a different config file . The first one I just deleted the IMEI without replacing with zeros . I just changed the link in the previous post where I replaced the imei with zeros.
I have a qcn file in my work at the service center when I get there I can give you one for T-Mobile and one for AT&T if you need them just let me know

Yes, would you please post your QCN file. I am interested in comparing RF configuration among T-Mobile QCN's too - very curious if it varies (and of course it should vary between radio updates)..

Could either of you use NV-reader-writer to dump your NV items 551-7000 (you will bypass NV 550 IMEI), so you would not need to worry about hiding it.
Spirodave - your QCN stopped at NV 5895 and I am not sure if this is all your phone has or if it's an issue with QPST not getting these out. NV 6000-7000 is the LTE band configuration info and not having these would tell me that your phone does not have LTE, which I am sure is not true...

Thanks. If possible, I would also ask you both to dump your NV 500-7225 using NV-reader-writer and then zero-out NV 550 (IMEI). This way it is actually possible to do comparison using a Merge tool, which saves a ton of time. But QCN file is still important, because it provides item descriptions... I searched everywhere in the three roms we have, even the old versions. I couldn't find nothing. the problem is I flashed a wrong nvram file using the SP flsh tool and since then the whole nvram partition size is defined wrong and thus accepting nothing. if you could extract me your nvram file and send it, I would be very grateful.

Unfortunally, I tried sp tool and fastboot, neither of the methods works.
I am making good progress with a flashable ZIP file that can be flashed using the diagnostic factory mode. The ZIP takes a current EMUI ROM base and debloats it removing Chinese langauge apps and unnecessary Huawei branding. Useful frameworks such as Motion, Gestures, AoD, etc. are retained. Going forward I plan to develop the solution further so that you will be able to modify a customisable config file that will specify what packages you want to retain, and select a downloaded EMUI ROM for the device that will be customised as per your instruction , resulting in a ZIP file being pushed to your device and you then simply need to reboot and allow the phone to flash the update. Simple ! Therefore, each time a new stock ROM is released then this tool simply needs to be run against your customisation !
Development so far-
1. I now have a method of entering the hidden factory mode allowing a ZIP package to be flashed from internal storage , so you can simply download the ZIP to your Download folder and flash from there.
2. I have a method of saving an OTA to file.
3. I have identified the ROM GPT for the device and all partitions and sequencing; this allows me to extract all partitions contained within an Huawei ROM.
4. I am currently interrogating a sample Huawei patch ROM to discern the method of patching filesystems - which i determined is basically is an overlay of the filesystem. This makes things easy as it allows a reverse image creation from a stock partitions minus bloat removed.
5. Next step is to attempt creation of a simple patch ROM using analysis obtained from 1-4 above, and trial this out on my device. This will involve CSC and SHA256RSA creation and will need to determine a method for this. Following that I need to consolidate everything into a script. Going even further, I plan to develop a GUI app which will aid N00bs
6. Following trials I will publish the ROM and instructions with sources so that anyone in the community can examine if they so desire.
* ALL WITHOUT ROOT *
HELP NEEDED:
Anyone with a rooted device , and able to "adb root" into their device as "root" , please PM me as i could do with information that you can obtain a lot easier than I can.

Update: Rooted if need any adb feedback per OP. I haven't TWRP'd and re-ROM'd but I'm going to go back update 195 and repatch. Each time is a big hassle (just remembering steps).

Hi. I hope you are correct! Just don't see anything explicitly said about bootloader. Only says you don't need root. Would be neat if this approach could be used to rebrand phone.

I need a card for the phone but it doesn't use SD its a type i can't get get hold of.. Some nVcard ?? Anyway.. I'm continuing search and development. There's a hidden menu that you can use to flash a zip from the card you see... I'll PM you abdul when I'm closer..others can go for a hike

I PM'd you shortly after you started this thread offering my help since I have a rooted AL00. The memory card is Huawei proprietary card called NM Card (nano memory card - SD card the same size as nano SIM card) here's a link for them at Amazon (not an affiliate link) https://www.amazon.com/Huawei-Memory-Mirco-Compact-Flash/dp/B07KS8JBFH and they are quite expensive compared to micro sd cards.

Sorry about some folks being rude. You see it at times but I was surprised when I read it. Regardless, your finding is interesting. Where is the hidden menu you can use to flash a zip from? I wasn't planning on getting a nano sim because they are pricey. But if it is possible to do as you say I'll provably get one. Is there also an option to flash zip from file on computer? Thanks for your efforts!

You can use an USB OTG and a usb stick. Works with the hidden menu trick thing. They can be found for pretty cheap price

OVERLAY FOR DUAL SIM CALL OPTION dual sim msg option
i have attached overlay folder. rename it to your current overlay folder in cust and replace. and than reboot.
i am not a developer, i just do experiments.
Steps:
1. disclaimar: i am not responsible for any thing, do it on your OWN RISK.
2. First make a backup of your current system only in TWRP, so that if any thing goes wrong, you can restore, and everything will be like before.
3. place file in sd card and flash through twrp.
reboot and enjoy.
in case of bugs, kindly share and if not, than do some useful with it and share it with us. thanks

This is sytem only, region depends on cust and misc. Partition, so whatever you are running, will not be effected.

EDIT: I HAVE ATTACHED A OVERLAY ZIP. Extract it and replace your current overlay folder in cust.
Rename it according to your current overlay folder name.YOU WILL GET SEPARATE CALL OPTIONS FROM BOTH SIMS AND SMS.
Kindly check it and give feed back.

no, you will not loose root. overlay folder is in cust
