Anyone have the installation files to share?
Why I like this browser is, when I am surfing forums, I can pinch to zoom the text and then followed by double tap, the text will reflow.
All other browser that I have tried, when I pinch to zoom, yes the text becomes bigger but when double tapped, it's back to the same size or the preset zoom size, so not that customizable
Thanks in advance.
Are you serious?
First of all, there is no such thing as a "stock browser", it is highly dependent on the version of Android you're running.
Second, stock browser is part of EVERY SINGLE ROM out there. I have yet to see one that doesn't have it. At least all the GB ones have it, pretty sure others do too.
Point is, it can't be that hard to download a ROM and extract Browser.apk from it.

Hi thanks for sharing, but when I tried to install it after allowing apps from unknown sources, it says apps not installed. Thanks anyway..
Why would you even try installing a system app as if it was a normal user app?

Fruitcake ROM or SBF. Why you would get rid of a system app like that is beyond my comprehension. Its not bloatware...
You need to push it into /system/app, set permissions and reboot

I finally got the progress bar to recompile correctly. So here this is:
CWM Update Zips
View attachment BrowserClean.zip
View attachment BrowserCleanChromeIcon.zip (Chrome Icon)
Changes
-Default Home switched to google
-Removed all default bookmarks
-Added Google as a default Bookmark
-Google Keyword Redirects (No vzw/bing)
-Appearance of Fascinate Browser (No grey URL bar, No cyan/black bar below Title Bar during loading)
-removed some really random strings/pngs for CNN and Facebook.
Install:
-Install Via CWM. (Added script to delete browser.odex)
or
-Place apk into /system/app/, if the browser.odex is still there, delete it, and reboot.
Additional
-To get rid of the hard coded bookmarks, you may need to clear the browser cache. This will delete any bookmarks you have.
Thanks adrynalyne for the initial CWM update.zip
Omg I love u!

adrynalyne, mind if I add your CWM zip to the OP?
Browser Icon is now a Google Chrome Icon which is a very nice touch. The downside for me is that the annoying bookmarks are still on my system (myvzw, etc). Everything else seems to be working as expected for a 2.1 browser (did I mention I miss real flash a lot more than I thought I would?)

Simply amazing. That stupid cyan bar thing from the Mezmerize Browser.apk was really starting to get to me.

1.) Ooops. I had changed the Icon as a personal touch. I intended to upload one with the original icon. And will if anyone asks.
2.) You should be able to get rid of the vzw icons if you clear browser cache. Only thing is, if you had any other bookmarks, you'll have to set them again.
installed browser2.zip via cwm
-redirects to vzw/bing
-remove/rename browser.odex in system/app/ results in browser opening in blank white screen, then fc
What am I missing?
-Try rebooting after renaming/removing the browser.odex.
-If that fails wipe data-dalvik cache
Thanks, reboot did the trick. What exactly does wiping the data-dalvik cache do?
Also, I was sort of hoping it would restore voice search by google to the long press search button. There's a way to do this, isn't there?
How can I change the browser icon back to stock? Hate the Chrome icon.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, that was an unintentional part of the release.
you can replace the res/drawable_hdpi/ic_browser_laucher.png in the apk. (not sure on the exact path, but that should be real close)
I'll put another one out after i finish with backups on my phone.
Beauty. Nice option for those of us using the backhole ROM.

Added Chioce for Chrome Icon or the Default Globe.

1.) The reason I would have had you wiping dalvik-cache was to let your system re-associate what *.odex it has on. I'm not too familiar with this level of programming so I can't tell you much more.
2.) I can't find a thread for that right now. But there is an enhanced google search apk floating around. You'll need to install that along with removing the bing/microsoft apk
CWM install script for BrowserClean.zip didn't work so I had to manually install but it's working fine. Thanks for your work!
Flipsoul,

Im currently using the ICS Browser+ as my default browser, but when i when press it the browser button i get sent to the stock one. Is there anyway to change this?
I would like to see if there's an answer to this as well. Thanks ahead of time.

I will dig around this week and see what I can find.

I don't know how to change the row of buttons at the top of the keyboard, but you can create your own custom shortcuts to launch applications:
http://www.androidsupernova.com/2011/12/create-custom-shortcuts-with-asus-eee.html
Search+b launches browser already, but you can change it to launch whatever application you want (including a different browser).

I must be blind..Where is the browser button. I assume you don't mean the normal browser Icon because that will open the original browser (regardless of your default).
When I hit the google search I am asked what browser to open (I haven't set a default browser yet)
If you want that default browser icon for Browser+ then I think you may be able to just change the Browser+ Icon

What launcher are you using? Most allow you to replace icons with ones of your choosing, you'll just have to put them on your sdcard.
If you're wanting to theme icons at the system level, or your launcher doesn't allow you to select a custom icon, then you'll have to modify apks.

Send me the icons and I'll make a flashable .zip for you that will change them, hassle free ( plus a recovery one so you can revert them if you don't like them ).
It's 2 minutes of work
Edit : I figure you want to change them while using Touchwiz, because replacement launchers do it easily anyway

Not strictly true - although it is an app drawer replacement.
Can change icons and names with this, my favourite ever app ever of all time ever.
As I've posted before, if there's an easier way to edit icons/text and retain functionality, I have yet to find it.
Especially because I couldn't modify an apk if my life was at stake...

Hey all,
Anyone else having issues with sharing options in stock Gallery app in SGS3? I tap on the share button at top of screen, list of options come up but I'm missing Messaging, Email, Gmail etc...Theres a list of other options but not the ones I'm after. Any way of changing this?
Also, I've come from an SGS1, what happened to the fancy 3d Gallery app ? -_- This stock one is very dull
When you click on share, there is a 'more options' at the bottom of that list. Clicking ink it expands all the existing options. Included amongst them are those you are looking for.

Like the poster above said -- expand the list.
As for the 3D Gallery. Why would anyone EVER want to go back to it? It was slow, cumbersome and gawdy looking at best. The new gallery performs 100x better.
I've tried expanding the list guys, still don't have the general sharing options...I have all these other options like Direct WiFi, Flipboard, Picasa etc.
Bump, still got this issue any help would be greatly appreciated.

I actually agree that the new Gallery is faster as well. Screen capture attached. So weird, on my fiance's S3 all typical options show up...
Bumpity bump

You still haven't given us a specific firmware.
Is your phone branded?
Download the newest firmware and flash it with ODIN -- see if that restores all functions.
Update- Upon further investigation I found a newer version on XDA. I am attaching a flashable zip in the post. Thanks to this guy - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52153586&postcount=306
IMP - By default the app takes pictures in 5MP resolution. If you want to take pictures in 8MP resolution, just disable 16:9 mode in settings.
Just like all other Xperia SP users, I was completely dissappointed with the phone's horrible camera. Upon further investigation I realised that the issue was due to the unpolished and half-baked stock camera app and therefore some users posted Xperia M's camera app which performed better.
After some little searching on the internet, I found Moto X's camera apk.
The app does wonders on our device and performs better than Stock camera or google camera app, especially in terms of auto-focus department.
So, I suggest everyone to try it out. I am attaching the apk to the post.
Works on stock as well as custom ROMS.
NOTE - Produces great results while taking pictures of 'texts and documents' where stock app fails terribly.
Bugs - Not all features are working (eg HDR mode). But the app does a pretty decent job.
Work's also with Stock Roms.

I guess you used the apk. The apk and zip versions are different. Its been a while since I changed any roms so I don't remember whether I flashed some other app to enable extra settings. I have 2-3 different versions lying on my laptop. Try the flashable zip version and see if the ladybug icon appears.
