High RAM usage? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

Just got my GS5 yesterday, and as soon as I got it I immediately took off all that T-Mobile and Samsung bloatware. But even after downloading clean master the RAM is always above 70%. Sometimes it's at 50-60%. But on my previous Gs4 I was able to have it below 40%. Anyone also have this issue? Or can I do something to have the RAM use less than 50%?

Do apps close due to RAM usage? If not which is most likely the answer then don't worry how much free ram you have . Let Android which effectively handles usage. Golden rule is unused ram is wasted RAM.

Not much you can do. Aosp is the answer something like CM down the line
Sent from my SM-G900T using xda app-developers app

Do not worry about ram usage guys..In fact touchwiz is not this hog most make it to be. It has actually gotten better. This lag people complain of is not lag it's animations the way Samsung intended them to be. Some apps need more optimization in the way they function. Unused ram is wasted ram its like being rich and having money but not using it. Apps that sit in ram are NOT running nor consuming any CPU usage. Ram helps apps run and load quickly for daily task. These days its all about optimization. Touchwiz vs Aosp is a mute debate they are made to operate in the same fashion but diffrently. In short don't worry s5 has plenty ram and android knows what to do.

I've read that too somewhere, however I've found that post to be incorrect. In fact, the less free RAM I have available, the slower my device gets and the music lags as well. I think that Android actually runs worse with less ram free.
Anyway, that isn't the point here. Back to OP. On slimbean, I can get between. 150 - 180 MB of RAM available. Total RAM is 392 on semaphore 2.0.7sv.

Lack of RAM on SXS Problem with ICS maybe?

Hello everyone i am starting this thread to see if there is anyone haave the sam problem.I tried basically everything (except rooting ) reinstalling the software, boosting up with tge different apps evrything but it seems to be not helpful.I mean ICS is not so bad itself on SXS but it looks like something is causing the lack of RAM and that's why my phone is bugging and being slow. For the RAM i found oyt that from the avaliable of 635MB i only have 48 free and than i have to restart my phone. So i tried Task Killers and stuff like that and honestly it wasnt so helpful. So o googled it and i found out that it is up to Android to kill apps when necessary itself, and that i shouldn't use any apps such as task killers just let the android work for himself.Than i think my android doesn't work well than.So anyone found a solution for this? And please if you would tell me if this is up to hardware or software thing?

This phone supposed to be 1GB ram, however it drop to 620mb+ because of the driver need to run this phone. It's mean that 370mb of the ram can't be modify to use.
My experience with my previous phone x8. It's ram is only 168 in stock rom. But nowaday dev could create kernel with updated driver which use less ram! So now it reachs 185mb!
I hope dev here could do the same to our beloved XS!

tits and tricks for making farster stock ics .587

I don't know if I'm breaking a rule, I saw this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1969555), but I don't think so.
my question is: "there is a way for free up RAM space, and/or make the phone quicker?" (using stock ics .587)
.. because every time i press back botton, it use about 4 second to do the action. I used a task killer if course.
I'm using this phone about 3 weeks, it is a present, and it was new, not second hand.. so is a little bit STRANGE.
I'm prepared to root my phone if necessary.
thanks for any answer!

anyway dont use task killer, it do more harm than good.
root your phone, and use something like auto memory manager to modify android native memory manager value. the auto memory manager is free in google play.
or if u wanna do more just unlock bootloader and flash custom kernel. custom kernel usually have better memory mangement, power mangement etc compared to stock kernel.

so, Auto Memory Manager isn't just snake oil like all the task killers and RAM boosters?
No, auto memory manager just adjusts the threshold limit for the lowest free memory that will be accepted by the os and will only kill tasks if the free memory gets below the threshold limit,
whereas task killers will kill the task irrespective of the threshold limit.

Lg mlt - wtf?

When you get in developer menu on L9 (and other LG phones), you can see MLT menu. If you disable this MLT and reboot phone - you get some memory free (in my case - it's about 150Mb: with MLT enabled after boot phone has about 150Mb free memory, with MLT disabled - 300Mb).
Google doesn't known anything distinct about this app. Some folk guess what this is some spy/tracking app from LG. But anyway - couple of days without this MLT and I didn't noticed any changes in phone, except much more free memory and maybe some little lags absent.
Some one know anything about this?

I did disabled, but did not find any difference. Its always between 260 to 350.
@Tablechair, Check memory in any memory widget, Run MX video player/Chrome, close it. And again check memory. You will find around 100mb more ram. We cant be sure about RAM at anytime coz we keep using phone and apps keeps eating and releasing Ram in its own way. I always used ATK to keep ramspace optimized and got good performance of phone.
EDIT: http://androidforums.com/spectrum-all-things-root/639832-lg-mlt.html
Found some information about MLT. Google says its a system process for some logs or something. Some of them disabled it or removed it and had no issues. Strangely, none of them talked about any free memory.

really? i checked 1/2 page only. seems only few are experiencing more memory.
Maybe behaviour of MLT app depends on region?
Well I do keep my battery and app usage in control, since I'm not able to charge my phone during the day. So that might explain why my free RAM is higher compared to others. Nevertheless, I still saw some RAM freed from disabling MLT. It may vary depending on app usage perhaps?

The Google launcher is mostly just placeholders for search. Its bare bones. All pure stock android is always basic. Everybody wants it and says they want the stock experience and then a couple of weeks go by and they are running a 3rd party launcher cause stock has no options. Lg made a launcher with options and therefore uses more resources.
I use nova launcher and I get 1GB to 1.2GB of free ram after I cleared taskmanager. BTW I also disabled a some apps.

There is a reason 3 gigs gonna be next std. Oems are great inventing but carp at optimizing. Well used ram is good use, wasted ram because daemons and launcher tricks you don't use is just a waste of resources.
I'll test the launcher, autokiller is a bit to aggressive when low on memory, imo.
