Guys I have a 1/8 2100 which is rooted via framaroot and Supersu installed. I've read loads of posts saying install open recovery script via goomanager, problem is I don't have a menu button in goomanager. So I click on flash rom and it asks if I have recovery installed, I choose no and to search and download one for me. It finds TWRP and downloads it but doesn't flash it. I can locate it in goomanager/downloads but how do I install it

Think need to wait for the boot.img to be compatible with 1/8GB EU 2100.
Thanks mate, I'll keep and eye on that thread.

Yeah...you have to root device before you can flash recovery.
It'll be available in a next few days - I'm sure...

On 2100? Latest firmware?
Why don't you use then goomanager?
Use xposed module to reduce size / layouts of app and you'll see btn.
If course I'm not 100% that's the problem, I still haven't received my watch...but it should be OK

Didn't think of that, but what's with no boot. Img available not sure how that effects me

Framaroot 1.91 works with boromir exploit and installs Supersu

Don't know but my guess would be -
TS have unlocked bootloader, so that means you can flash custom kernels.
I guess some dev use boot.img (kernel) add recovery in it and you could fastboot that or flash using some other tool...
I repeat - I still don't have my TS, so all this is just something I think they did.
I'm sure there explanation in OP (thread where's that method)
But if you are already rooted, goomanager should work - at least it would work on phones...

I've downloaded the TWRP. Img file through search for it in goomanager. For some reason probably down to dpi, there's no menu option at the top of the app like there is normally, so there's no option to install open recovery script. With this. img file, can it not be flashed via stock recovery

As I said, I'll know more when my watch comes...
It shouldn't be that hard but Omate fuc**d us all...
Develipers editon, yeah right...
Crappie firmware, not rooted...uff...
I think KS will never see me again.
It's one thing to fail but to make fouders or backers total idiots - hmm...I'm not buying that...
But we'll see which firmware will my watch have...it's like kids playing and sending those watches...
I mean...I'm trying to get my tracking nr from them for a three days?!

I cannot make goo manager work for installing twrp. I can't find the script.
Is there another simple way to install twrp recovery ?

Hey guys,
So I am thinking about flashing an AOSP ROM. A lot of them seem to mention to flash in CWM. I currently have TWRP on my phone. Will it be necessary to switch? If yes, how do I go about doing that and will the backups that I made with TWRP work in CWM?
Unless the dev specifically says dont use twrp. Youll be fine. I use twrp, but I also havent flashed an asop rom yet. But youll be fine.

Switch by just using ROM manager to flash cwm and no your backups aren't interchangeable.

To get back to TWRP I just uninstall ROM manager and install via GooManager?
You wouldn't even need to uninstall ROM manager, just use goo to reflash TWRP

Great. Thanks for all of your help you guys!
I have a noob question. I unlocked/rooted my phone using the CASUAL method and it put twrp recovery on there. Is it possible to switch that to clockwork mod that I am more familiar with and if so, how do I do it?
Thanks in advance.

Ah ok. From the 1-2 times I have used it it seemed fairly straight forward. I just know for things like CM10 rom it says install cwmod first then flash the rom. Is it possible to flash cm10 from twrp?

Yes it is. Just use goomanager to update it TWRP to the latest. Also I guess you could just use ROM manager to install CWM, but as stated TWRP seems to be the best for the note

Yep, you can flash it with TWRP, just make sure you are running the latest version.

OK so I have a quick question about flashing kernels. I want to flash a new kernel for better battery life I know I do that in my recovery like a ROM. But what does it mean to fix permissions and where do I fix them at and how do I fix them?

The instructions should tell you where and what to change. Then use Root Explorer to browse to the file or directory and change it. Although most kernels are flashed via Odin as far as I know and am used too.

What kernels have you been flashing through Odin??? Only one I can think of is the pre-release one for 2 mins while you unlock the phone.
I've been doing all mine through TWRP. So far used faux's and KToonez's kernels

For users who don't have one and I assume recovery is lost with a fresh firmware flash via FlashTool.
Ah I see where you are heading. Nah never unlocked the bootloader, just rooted it.

Yeah I took the plunge less than a week of having it
But I used Sony's website instead of FlashTool.
I had to upgrade to 314 to see if some of the problems I had with the Z2 were addressed. So far so Good, the double-tap to wake feature was spotty at best and now it works like a charm. Now to see if the proximity issue still exists...(The screen would stay off like it should on calls but the digitizer would still function!)
How can I add adb?
I'm guessing you're running the root but it's not finding adb, right?
If you don't have adb I'm sure it's on Google or these forums in hundreds of locations.
After you have it just put the contents of the root in the same directory as adb is.

Can someone explain why I'd want to install the recovery?
I don't intend to flash other rooms and my bootloader is unlocked.

For those wondering where the new version of rootkitXperia with the supersu v2.0.1 is... It is exactly the same link and 20140719 file name as it was before. Try downloading it again and re-rooting again.

Who said you had to install recovery?
Recovery was recommended because new firmware had problems with supersu 2.01 and you had to flash binaries from recovery...now that's history so there's no need for recovery...
Just root device and that's all...

You can try the root tool and let us know if it works. No harm trying. It'll fail to root at the worst.
ERT v11
I just used ERT v11 & tr.apk v3 to root .314 firmware. Worked on 2nd attempt mind you, basically cause I wasn't watching what I was doing lol. But it worked :victory: This was after using pc companion to update to .314 and it wiping my root on .402. But just to let you all know that ERT also works on .314

Did you search? And try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3108230
I do wonder why kingroot needs so many permissions though.
Edit:
If you have recovery still ( I dount it) you can flash supersu zip.

So custom recovery I meant (like cmw, TWRP or philz) When your phone boots the led will light up a colour (green or purple or blue) before the boot animation (the waves). Then you can present a volume key or power key to boot into recovery. A little something something like https://youtu.be/0LIwOdd4Uck

Ok. Yea have a look at that thread that I linked. I've never used that method so I'm not sure if it'll work on you build but it's you best shot. It also installs kingroot i think instead of superuser or supersu so you might want to look at changing that after you have root, I'm sure someone would have said how to do it in the thread.
Also as an FYI there is a thanks button for people that helped you and don't forget to search there's a wealth of knowledge on xda.
