default file picker on HTC ONE - AT&T HTC One (M7)

All -
I am on dev rom 4.4.2. Was trying to use the default mail app to write an email. When I tried to attach a file I diwnloaded to local storage, the default file picker popped up. But it would not let me browse by directories but by recent, type, favorite etc. The question is which app will mark a recent document and where would you tag favorite document? Thanks...

Stupid question.

Email attachments. If i receive an email with a .jpg I get a 'download' option with it so I can save it on my sd card...but any other file types...pdf, mp3 I don't get any option to save. I tried opening an email with an mp3 attachment in the email client, maildroid and gmail app and only in gmail app did I get a 'preview' button..but that only gave the option of previewing with OfficeSuite and one other program not capable of playing mp3's.
Is this a 'feature' of android that you can't just save an attachment?
I find with yahoo I can save all my attachments, it creates its own SD file and places them there. Have you tried 'download all files' apk? Its free on market and should be able to convert attachments to store correctly on SD card. It worked for me with a few zip files I wanted to save to SD.

Is there a way to prevent unnecessary photoes from loading into the gallery?

Yeah.that's exactly what I want to know.
Is there a way to set which folders to look for when importing photoes to the gallery.!

Kii safe works to hide pics.
Create a blank file with no extension called ".nomedia", without quotes but don't forget the period at the beginning of it, and put that file in the same folder as the images you want to hide, bam, all your porn is safe from appearing in the gallery.

Rename any folder by putting a period in front of the name and it won't show up.
I use QuickPic for my gallery, it's a great deal faster and lets you hide whichever folders from a menu when you longclick the album.

You can use folder organizer lite, you can change the folder and app icons if you like. Here's what I did with it. The popup is the starred apps folder.

I like to use Bettercut for changing Icons that are on the home screens... but it does not change the icons that are in the app drawer.... just shortcut icons that are on any one of the home screens
Auto App Organizer free
This is the best app organizer by far. All newly installed apps are automatically organized into folders.
I have used super manager, app mate, app organizer, folder organizer and more. They all were useful but this one is the best
Finding this app made organization easy. FINALLY, a Folder Organization system that works.

[Q] what happened to sharing via messages?

I used to be able to use Astro file explorer to view images. I would then long press an image and tap share/send and choose message. It would then convert the image to mms and I could send it to someone. Now the option to send the image via message has disappeared no matter what file explorer I use. It gives me option to share with Facebook, instagram, email etc but no mms.
I don't remember exactly when this happened but I believe it happened after I got ICS. I've tried with various file explorers and none allow me to send images via mms.
I'm able to do it with the Gallery but not with 3rd party file explorers.
I'm on Evo 3D with Android 4.0.3 and Sense 3.6
Any ideas?

Looking for email app

I have been looking for and have yet to find an email app that will do what I want. I would like to find an email app that would let me create create folders for sorting my email. I know this isn't a server function of pop servers. So the app would have to create the folders locally. This would allow me to save or move emails into the different folders. Is there even an app for android that does this with pop mail?
