Hi,
Anyone else experiencing this? You would have USB Debugging enabled, and then later at some point you connect the USB cable and the notification for the connection doesn't appear, it just charges. Then I'd have to unplug, then re-enable USB debugging, and go on with my business. Sometimes I'll have just turned it on, and right away when I plug it in it's been turned off again. Is this an EB01 and/or Superclean 2.4 thing or is it just me? Thanks.
USB Debugging has been acting funky for me as well on EB01 (but never had an issue with it on DJ05 or DI01). Just in case, make sure you're not using a third-party USB charger for your phone, that can damage your usb port/phone (although that doesn't seem like the situation... just better safe than sorry).
Using the original cable..
And yeah I didn't have this issue prior to EB01. Even if I rebooted in prior versions USB Debugging would stay on. Now, it'll disable randomly in several scenarios, the simplest being setting it on and then leaving the menu, then it would magically get disabled.

I have a similar problem where plugging in the usb cable launches the desktop app instead after several plug/unplug cycles. I didn't notice it until after installing the accurate battery mod. Running the pre-rooted stock EB01 from odin pkg.
I have the exact same issue.

I noticed today that debugging mode started working again after plugging in my car charger.

In my case it was the cable. The original cable works fine, but the generic cable only works for debug mode intermittently.
this happened to me once a couple weeks ago, but hasn't happened since.
I'm willing to bet that everyone who has posted on this thread that is having this debugging issue are using Mac computers. Would love your feedback on this thought.

Happening to me also. Windows 7
Ok, shot in the dark. I know another guy who has the same problem and he uses a MacBook pro. I also have a MacBook pro and have the same issue. But, as of today, I'm beginning to think it is an EB01/DL30 issue because it didn't happen until I first started flashing froyo (DL30) and right now I'm running JT's Vanilla Froyo, which is by far my most favorite Rom yet, and I am not having that issue anymore. I flashed VF and it stopped. FWIW I hope this helps.

Biggest culprit is usually the cable. I held out for a long time replacing the cable because it worked sometimes. But sure enough, after replacing, it works all the time. My previous cable was too long and the wires were too thin to reliably transmit stable data, causing intermittent problems. So, even if it works for charging or for other devices, it doesn't mean that it's always working properly.
Other possibilities:
Your computer. Like others noted with the Mac issues, or maybe a bad USB plug (try a different one), or something else jacking with your USB bus.
Your phone. Is your USB port all worn out and used up?
Your software set up. The USB modes of this phone can be pretty buggy (I have a discussion thread about it in the dev forum). If you are having problems with this and any other weird issues, look into a full Odin back to stock, and then return to SuperClean.
I am having this same problem...it must be something to do with EB01, im on a MBP and it was working fine until i flashed it even on my mac. also using the stock cable but for some reason even if the cable is unplugged usb debugging will randomly turn off.... can anyone confirm that this is a glitch in eb01 or am i just crazy?.....which is possible, lol
I'm pretty sure that this problem is exclusive to DL30/EB01 as I posted before. I had the same problem with superclean/blackhole/darkrevenge/stock froyo release etc. But, this problem did not occur until I flashed these leaked froyo Tom's and has now stopped since I flashed Jt's Vanilla Froyo.

Started happening when I started connecting my Fascinate (stock Android 2.2.2 ED05) to my newly acquired Mac. Never happened when connecting to the half dozen or so Windows XP and 7 systems I have. All using the same USB cable. Anybody have any ideas if this may be something Mac related?
Thanks!
Not sure whats wrong with it.. I cant seem to charge my touchpad. I tried my phone's charger but it said it provides lower voltage and instructed to connect to the charger that came with touchpad. When I connect the stock charger (one that came with the touchpad)...nothing happens and it doesnt charge.
You think my charger isn't working or is there any problem with the touchpad?
Thanks for your help guys.
Are you running the CM7 build?
im currently running webos.
That happened to my gf's charger/Touchpad. I know that her contacts are flaky when I use the her TP charger for my phone. My guess is to start there.
If you are stock, my money is on the physical contacts, second guess would be the charger itself is bad.
You mean try using my phone's charger for the touchpad?

Touchpads are very picky to the charging source. There is a hack that you can download to fix that. However I recommend taking the stock charger, twisting it so it comes into 2 pieces and twist it back together. HP may have made the charging requirements picky for a reason. Much like early iPhones.

Ill try that once I get home.hope it works.....otherwise ill have to look into the hack. Do I need to root tp to get the hack working?

Yea. But that's easy

My gf's tp has problem charging a well. Tried charging via mine and her wall chargers. Both would charge my touchpad but would not charge hers. It would tell me the same as if I was charging using a computer. Charged it overnight and battery was still dead. Tried using multiple cables as well with no luck. Tried charging via the touchstone. For the first 7+ hours, nothing happened, just a battery icon with a flash and red bar. I decided to call HP about the problem. Set up and RMA to get it repaired. 10 minutes after calling HP, the touchpad finally showed some sign of life when it started booting up. I tried switching to the wall charger but it doesn't show any indication that it was charging. As of now, it is being charged on the touchstone but dunno the status of it because I had to go to work. I will find out in the morning. But I will still RMA the tp as it doesn't seem to charge via the usb port.
If the battery was that flat mllk it's probably damaged anyway so an RMA is the way to go.
Does anyone know where i can get this charger hack that is mentioned?
My charger did not work out of the box and it was simply because it is a universal charger made to take new plug attachments that screw into and out of the mane charging body.
It takes a rotation until it clicks into place to be properly set and functional. It seems mine was not rotated all the way in place. I thought I broke the charger when it came apart when I was messing around with it until I found this fact and after I put it back together and twisted it until it snapped into place it has worked fine since.
I plan to get a touchstone charger for it down the line anyways I think just to reduce wear & tear on the usb port and also to make charging it a more simple affair.
Shame it does not seem to charge from PC, its a bit misleading being that its a usb cable.
When I plug my phone to my laptop's usb to charge, I didn't touch the phone the phone just get disconnected and back connected. It can dc a few times in a row.... On CM10 or Samsung I had that problem. Siyah Kernel.
Happens with me too. Not sure why though. Could be the cable or something that triggers a dc

So, quick question for folks.
The other day I noticed that despite my phone listing itself as charging, the battery was still dropping. Other times I could get it to charge ok. Today I noticed that wiggling the cable triggered the charging sound, but no change in the status.
After that, it got really worrying. The phone no longer would indicate a charge on that cable. I borrowed a friends s3 cable (I should mention that this is a generic cable, not the s4 cable I am using), and thst went straight to charging. After that, the generic cable worked.
I am going to try to test more today and tomorrow with the official cable.. but has anyone else had an issue like this? My worry is that it is the phone. . If it is, I want to exchange it now before there is the chance of getting a replacement with the locked bootloader. .
Sounds like it's the charger to me.

I agree. My S4 charger works fine. Others struggle and have that same issue.

Yea, I also get some problems when not using the stock S4 cable. Seems otherones fit but have a little play to where if I bump then even the slightest it reconnects.
i have a fairly new Galaxy S4, but every time i connect my phone to my computer, if i move the phone/cable a fraction of an inch it will disconnect from the computer and immediately reconnect multiple times until im done moving anything. It doesnt seem to matter the cable or the usb port on my computer.
any ideas?
Bunk charging port. That's what my s3 started doing and eventually it wouldn't recognize or charge. I'm sorry.
