[Q] Help with roms/recovery - Samsung Galaxy 5 I5500

I am wanting to know how to install roms using CWM recovery.
When i try to flash a rom using CWM, it says that everything has been flashed and the update has been applied, but when i restart my phone, no rom ever loads and i just get a black screen with small white text saying "ANDROID"...
This version of CWM i have is recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-galaxy5
Can anyone help?

Wait for ~15 minutes, if it doesn't get to the boot animation then pull out the battery (to turn your device off) , put it back and turn your device on (do this 2-3 times and then report).
Sent from my GT-I5500 [OmniROM 4.4.2]

DO YOU WIPE DATA??? FACTORY RESET??
please try that first...
then go ahead..
If this doesn't help.. try flashing a stock rom and then reflash a new custom rom...

[Q] Custom roms freeze during first boot

Whenever I try install a custom rom, my streak never gets past the loading screen after the dell logo. I've tried streakdroid and longhorn both get stuck on a loading screen. How can I get my streak running a custom rom? :/ I've followed all the instructions and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
of course first boot usually takes time to initialized itself... subsequent boot usually only take around 30 - 45 seconds only...
Yes I am aware first boot takes longer, but as I said in my first post, it freezes. It starts the loading process again.
It's seems you flash a custom rom that need mod kernel. To flash mod kernel you have to unlock boot loader.
It happen to me once, stuck at SONY logo.
Try to flash with stock rom, it will be fine (i hope).

All of the custom ROMs have the correct Kernels built into the ROM.
Did you perforn BOTH factory resets after flashing?

What other factory reset it there besides the one in clockwork recovery? And how do I do it?
the menu in white text...
1. factory reset
2. software upgrade via update.pkg on sd card
3. screen calibration
4. power off
select 1
though when you do that, all data would be erased....

That is your first mistake. You should be using streakmod.
Sent using Longhorn 2.8, ICS Longhorn 1.4.2, and Longhorn Betas

Hi!
My phone is bootlooping. I tried to get the new stock Jelly Bean Rom but when i flashed with Odin my phone just gets to the bootanimation. Tried many stock firmawares. Have stock recovery and no root (I think). Can anyone help me. Need the phone to work very quickly.
Can you boot to recovery and clear the Dalvik cache and reboot your phone? This fix my bootloop before.

black screen when booting into recovery

please forgive me if this has been asked before. i've tried searching but can't seem to find any fix. my phone was working great but i wanted to try a new rom since i was getting bored. my mistake.. anyway i have CWM recovery on my atrix and it worked good. i've flashed roms before.i was flashing between Neutrino ROM V2.9 and V3 trying to see if i could get the CMsettings to work on V3 without crashing. anyway after a while i gave up and decided to full wipe and just flash V2.9. after the ROM flash i reboot the phone but got a boot loop so i pulled the batter and tried to boot into recovery to wipe and flash again but when i select Android Recovery it just hangs at a black screen. what happened? can it be fixed quickly because my battery before the final flash was about 30%
BTW.. i've tried to reflash the recovery through fastboot and my compute the way i did it when i fist unlocked my phone and flashed the recovery but still no luck... still hang at blank screen after selection Android Recovery
never mind i fixed the problem.... had to flashed a different recovery (in this case TWRP) and then flash back to CWM recovery. idk the reason why but it worked and now my phone is back on and just in time with only 5% battery life left after all the trial and error flashing..
ok i figured out what caused my recovery to crash in the first place. its the gapp addon. when i flash that zip and reboot i get a boot loop and my recovery is gone. first i though it was the zip file that was damaged so i re-downloaded the gapp addon from Neutrino ROM V2.9 fourm but now chrome says the zip is infected so ok i went and download the full gapp addon for CM7 rom and that flashes without crashing my recovery but when the phone restarts i can't access half the gapp like market and gmail and a few others. they show that they are installed in Manage Applications but they don't show up in the app drawer.. whats the problem now? i've never had this problem before

[q] stuck in bootloop

i would like to know if i still can revive my soft brick korean note (SHV E160L)
I am currently running an official JB 4.1.2 and decided to root my phone to remove the useless apps so what happened is i rooted my phone but it doesnt give me any root access.
i decided to do a factory reset in settings under backup & reset (usb storage was check) and when my phone
reboot, it doesnt booting normally. it only shows the U+ LTE Logo then after a couple of seconds it reboots again & again & again.
i tried to flash the stock ICS UH24 but no luck.
i tried to flash the stock ICS UH24 + PIT File that ive got (checked all auto reboot, repartition & f reset) here but still no luck.
i did this using ODIN and it always showing me a SUCCESS but my phone still stuck in bootloop.
i am willing to donate via paypal just to fix this phone.. please!
thanks in advance!
You may want to give up on going back to stock. Try using odin to install a current version of CWM so that you can boot to recovery mode and try a custom ROM from there.
