Hello!
Firstly I would like to apologize for my english, but I'm Polish, so thats why.
Few days ago I restored to factory settings, and after that I noticed problems with my microphone.
When I'm calling someone, he can't hear me correctly.
I hear him clearly.
When I use speakerphone he can hear me correctly.
Around year ago I had the same problem, I gave my phone to a service, and they reinstalled soft (4.0.2.A.0.62)
Today I reinstall my soft by flashtool, but still I have this problem with mic. I installed few softs, few times (4.0.2.A.0.62, 4.0.2.A.0.42, 4.1.B.0.587) and nothing happened.
Maybe you can help me with that. Any ideas? Solutions?
Thank you for help! Greetings from Poland.
Microphone problem
Well, the same here. Got updated my phone (not V, just Neo) to android 4.0.4 (cyanogenmod 9.1.0) and this happend. Actually microphone is working, but it's so difficult to hear something. I can't even use my phone as guitar tuner like I used to do it before.

I have read other posts on the forum but believe my problem is a bit different and quite weird (to me).
The symptoms are:
- sound through headphones is OK
- sound through the speaker when someone calls me on the phone is OK
- any other sound through the speaker is non-existent (ie ringtones, music, games)
I have tried rebooting, removing the battery, plugging/unplugging the headphones. I have tried the *#0*# code and pressed "speaker" but there's no sample sound heard (except through the headphones).
Does anyone else find it extremely odd that the speaker seems to work fine when someone is talking to me on the phone but nothing else? I'm guessing this means the problem is some kind of software or firmware issue. Correct?
Prior to the problem, I started with Android 2.3.3, rooted the phone, and flashed a stock ROM (KK2). I have upgraded to 2.3.6. Unfortunately I can't be sure the problem occured since 2.3.6 because I don't play music that much, and I play games without sound.
Should I (a) re-flash stock ROM, (b) factory reset, (c) call Samsung?
Grateful for any recommendations. (I'm not confident/competent with replacing the speaker myself)
regards.
Check sound settings first .
Factory reset.
Flash a stock rom .
Rooted so warranty void .
You will need to clear root with a stock rom flash and reset custom rom counter to zero with usb jig .

Receiving a call has a separate speaker, so your problem is with the back speaker which plays tones and other music, do a complete factory reset and check for sound if its still not playing, then it could be a hardware issue.

Thanks for the advice. I didn't realise there was a separate speaker.
I've performed a factory reset but no success.
I'll call Samsung today and arrange for the speaker to be replaced.
Thanks again
I've Had Success..
Hey guys..
I know this threads old, but I had success fixing an AU TELSTRA i9100T with the same Audio issues presented here. Runing GB 2.3.3 Totally Stock.. No root, nothing.
Every-time I increased the Speaker level to more that Half way, I'd hear a deep "CLICK" sound then no Audio any more through the Speaker..
When headphones are in, No problems at all..
Strange thing is, that once I turned it down below half way, and Blew air or puffed or even Talked Loudly into either of the 2 x Mics on the Top or Bottom of the phone, the sound would return OK.... but, again if I turned it up past Halfway ( sometime maybe one step over half way ) it would CLICK again and no Audio through the Speaker.
So, First I was thinking HW, then SW, tried Factory Reset.. no Help at all.. same issue..
Then, I flashed ROM to the latest Stock JB 4.1.2 XWLS8 Spanish ROM floating about the forums and This fixed it.. Perfect sound. No Hiccups.. :good:
Just wanted to share this..

Hi all,
Since yesterday my phone no longer lets me hear the other speaker. They hear me, but that's it.
All other services are working fine (data, SMS, ...)
When I use a headphone it's working fine, same when using the external speaker but the ear piece in the screen produces nothing.
I thought it was due to a software failure , so I reverted back to the original ROM from SE (2.1), but the problem remains.
Oh, it's not the in-call sound, I checked and it is at maximum volume.
Anyone know if there is on-board system diagnostics which can detect hardware failure ?
Anyone else experienced the same problem and found a solution ? Been looking but so far nothing.
Currently back at MiniCM7Pro V21 Rom.
Thanks for any feedback
Please head over to your device forum (u20i, xperia x10 mini). Here you are in the xperia mini pro sk17 forum

Sounds like you already did all the diagnostics you need. It's not the software, because on the handsfree speaker and headphones the calls just work fine, and on different ROMS too, so it must be the internal earspeaker.

Hi Guys.
I have Sony Xperia z ultra and after the last update i have a strange bug.
when ever i connect my headphones it works fine but when i unplug them the speaker is just mute the loud speaker works fine it is just like i have never unplugged it.
The only way to fix it is to turn the phone off and on again and it works fine until i plug in my headphones.
Have you ever experienced this problem? and if so how did you fix it?
If you haven't do you have any idea what could be wrong?
Sorry for my misspelling and bad English, Thank you
I honestly do not know about thhis problem. For me all it works.
If you do not have a lot of important files or do backup. You can restore the factory settings or the flash latest system into Flashmode.
If the is problem OS this should help.
Hi, I'm driving nuts with this problem. I recently bought a Chinese Android Radio with Carplay/AA and everything works fine except the calls.
When I connect my phone via Bluetooth, no matter if I'm using Android Auto or not, incoming or outgoing calls have a 2-3 seconds delay, and it's impossible to have a conversation.
I already updated the firmware to the last v.7.3.7 and everything is ok, but the problem remains. I don't know if it's something with the Bluetooth or the integrated microphone.
So, Anyone experience something similar or know what might be the problem and care to help me, please?
Thx in advance.
