So I finally unlocked, rooted and S-OFF'd my M8, but noticed that my speaker volume seemed to have degraded....they're not nearly as loud as they were before I unlocked. Anyone else experience this and/or know of a fix?
No one else has come across this issue?
Not a single issue here. Flash a ROM and see if that fixes it.

Having the same issue, running Skydragon, going to reflash and see if it's just a fluke.
Also, what did you use for s off? Firewater?
I did not find that unlocking the bootloader, root, and s-off to affect the speaker volume in any way; and would be surprised if it did. Not clear if the OP had a custom ROM installed. But I would suspect that as the culprit before the root, s-off process in itself.
Flash another ROM and see what happens.

I used Firewater, but that was before the last AT&T OTA update.

Awesome, thanks!
Under PRI mine says 1.12_002,1.83_002
Everything else is the same. I'm running a stock rooted Rom. Trying to get as close to stock as possible without plugging phone into computer. No computer or cable will recognize my phone (new one will be here by Tuesday) so I cant relock or run ruu.

I have the same issue with OnE XxX. I'm running the latest RUU right now to see if it fixes it. I'll update shortly and let you know.
[edit] well, what do you know. That actually worked. Weird.

Whenever you use the dial pad, does it freeze and restart?
I had some super epic bootlooping whenever I did anything. It was pretty sweet.
I'm re-RUUing right now. My data is being funky, so I'm going to do a stock factory reset.

No. That is the stock Global ICS update, 4.03.605.2

I'm not rooted as the OP is, and my issue ended up being my phone just wasn't charged enough. Turns out it needed to be around ~85% charged before it would start for me. Maybe worth a shot if you haven't tried that yet?
What are some things we can now do with this phone we couldn't do before? I went ahead and downloaded Rom Manager. What else can we do?

You should really read around tbh. Hope that helps though

I did already read that. Was just curious what else there is to do at this point. Looking forward to some newer Roms. Hopefully this speeds up that process. Thanks for the reply.
I'm new to HTC but not new to unlocked bootloaders, but what would need to be done to remove the tampered tag? Was it suppose to go off after getting s-off, cause mine didnt or do something else have to be done. New to HTC so don't have no idea

Soff really has no impact on more/newer roms or developers coming to a phone
It makes things significantly easier to flash, allows you to flash older radios and ruu, no need to relock to update or worry about an update relocking your phone
anyone know the file name that we can use to flash us some splash screens now? i need to be up on that
Looking forward to changing that splash screen. We can include kernels with the correct modules that will get flashed with the ROM now. I don't think that was working before.

we have the abillity to do that now. we just have to wait until a tut is released
Hello!
I'm new to all this and I try to read and understand but the this stuff is way out of my league.
So I bought the phone last week, I'm talking about the HTC one 32gb and it came with android 4.1.2. Then the new update came out and I was excited and all to see what it has to offer. I updated and then problems or bugs per se started with the phone.
Before the volume out of the speakers was loud and clear whereas now is much lower and I get this popping sound after a notification or song, and it bothers me.
Before I was getting awesome battery life with my typical use and now it seems to drain without touching it.
When I charge the phone I wait until it's a 100% then unplug, check the battery setting and it's on 98% or lower
Those are so far the problems I've found, but enough to make me want to return the phone.
With this said, I was wondering if Icould go back to 4.1.2 and start there until a good update comes up. I'm new to all this and in the case that this can be done, could anybody help me out to go back? Like a "for dummies" guide or something would be awesome.
Thank you so much
Of your s off you can if not your stuck I believe

Thanks for the answer... But how do he make that possible and how do I go back to 4.1.2?
Anyone with this device that has noticed this problems?
Run the ruu for 4.1.2 if that's what you want.
There is no problem with the update, though. It runs smooth and everything is good to go.

So I just have to download it, save it to the internal memory and run it? I thought it was more complicated than that!

No, it's an exe program that you run on your pc while your phone is plugged into it.

Thank you xcrazydx, last question of the night sir, any guide and links so I can get this done? You know, the 4.3 to 4.1.2 downgrade using that RUU thing? Ive searched around but it seems the guides are ment for those users that have rooted or in a custom software version, and I'm not
Read vomers guide in the international one forum.
All you really need is to have the drivers installed and fastboot unchecked. Plug in your phone and make sure it's recognized on your pc. Then just start the exe you downloaded from HTC.

Considering that ruu is going to completley wipe your phone, you should probablly factory reset your phone first and try out the update nice and clean. It may alleviate your concerns.

Yes... Via an RUU.
I really don't understand why you would though, try a factory reset and start fresh on the 4.3 update before looking at running the ruu because it's gonna wipe your data anyways.

I'm looking to go from 4.3 (official firmware) to a GPe on my AT&T One.
The 4.1.2 RUU .exe is no longer on HTC's website (only 4.3).
Does anyone have the official HTC firmware RUU.exe for 4.1.2? If so, can I simply flash this, then get S-OFF via Revone/Moonshine/Toolkit to set up my phone for a GPe flash (that gets OTAs)?
Or if I'm on 4.3 am I stuck forever?

is there a tutorial on how to do this?
I've done factory resets and it's not helping. My phone is no longer reading sim cards and the "boom sound" is fairly low in volume so I thought I'd try to go back to an old version and see if it works
