Hello,
could someone tell me in which file I can get the cpu temperatures from terminal/adb?
Thanks in advance
/sys/devices/platform/tegra_tmon/temp[12]_input looks like it.
Thanks for the answer, but when I tried to cat it (with and without su), it just gave me back a blank file (same with reading it in root explorer)
I forgot to mention that Im using MROM CM7, maybe its in a different path for this rom?

AFAIK CM7 doesn't support CPU temp.

Oh, ok then, that might explain why no apps can get it for me either
Thanks for the answers ^^
I'm on MROM-CM7 as well. That is where I found these files. They might or might not be for CPU, I don't know. Notice also I'm talking about two files there.
Well, I got a blank file for both files, do they return anything for you?

Code:
[b]# cat /sys/devices/platform/tegra_tmon/temp[12]_input[/b]
4000
3400
Although, I just remembered - while I'm on MROM, I am actually using a different kernel. Don't remember which, either CM7 or TopSmarts.
Oh, thanks, gonna try another kernel and check that ^^

Check out this RAM Optimising Script.
I flashed this script and now my phone is a lot smoother. All the little things such as opening/closing keyboard, scrolling and switching between open apps is faster.Tested with Xgin 5.3
To use this script
1.You will need to have cwm recovery-available with minicm and xgin with dual recovery mode(afaik)
2.Download Juwe_RAM_Script-CWM.zip from last post of this page.
3.Flash in cwm recovery
Post your experience in this thread
Devs if you and everyone experiences better results, you should include this in roms
Could u create with xrecovery too? For kuyo rom
Sent from my X8 using Tapatalk
after i flash at cwm,how can i know does it works ?
anyway to check ?
i've tested it..nothing change...i dont see any difference..tried in xgin5.3
Sorry but i don't know how.
If devs find these useful, they might include this in their roms.
If you went to link the you can try the second method mentioned there.
Unpack Juwe_RAM_Script.zip ,copy the file into /system/etc/init.d/ using rootexplorer or like and restart. That should do it.
Just tested and can't see any changes really and quadrant score didn't change it just went from 1063 to 1065 :/

Look to /system/etc/init.d/ if there is file named S97ramscript
I think that there is wrong mountpoint in updater-script (X8 has different mountpoints)
Strange,it definitely helped me.
Keep an eye out ,try apps which used to lag before.

Nope it's not there D:

Right I manually installed it. Not really convinced it does a lot. Quadrant score went from 1065 to 1079. Not really a big enough difference to confirm that it works but it doesn't slow it down so you might as well flash :L

I read somewhere that more memory is bad on an Android system. I mean they wrote that if you have low memory free, then the android cached what you will need = faster system. Am I right or wrong?

Hi, I am using HyDrOG3N-ICS ROM and like many custom ROMS the boot sound is removed. How could I add a boot sound back into the ROM?
Thanks
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
Open rom with Win rardo not extract .
Locate and open System then open ETC .
Then from ADD button add POWERon.wav for GB or .OGG if its ICS close and flash the rom .
jje
Thanks for the info, Is there no way to do without flashing ROM again?
Thanks

Take the PowerOn.ogg sound file, and put it in /system/etc using Root Explorer. Make sure you remount /system as R/W first.
I have tried this already and it is not working for me is there anything else that needs to be done?

You sure the file is good? If you try to open the .ogg file in Root Explorer, does it actually play?
Yes it defiantly had sound and plays. I assume the boot animation uses the system volume?

Yes, that was going to be my next question. Is your system volume turned up to an audible level when you boot?
Yes all turned up to max. Is there anything in the bootanimation.zip it's self that affects sound?

I don't think so...
And it turns out this may be related to the ROM after all... when I search the HyDrOG3N-ICS thread for the string "boot sound", I get a lot of results of people asking how to add it in, but no replies on how to get it done.
EDIT: after some searching, I found this post. Maybe you can try using this dev's kitchen app to attempt enabling the boot sound?
Sorry, nevermind. That looks like it is a kitchen app for his specific ROM, and may not work for HyDrOG3N.
EDIT 2: Try adding the PowerOn.ogg file to /etc instead of /system/etc. This folder (/etc) SHOULD be a logical mapping to /system/etc, but sometimes, it just doesn't work that way for some reason.
Still no luck. From further reading it seems boot sound is not supported at all on some roms. I have found suggestions of custom scripts that may work however most seem aimed at cm7. Think I may try some tomorrow. Thanks

How am I supposed to know? I don't use that ROM, nor am I the ROM chef.
Either ask in the ROM thread, or do some research. Google is your friend.
I don't mean to be short with you, but this is just lazy. Type into google "ics rom boot sound".
did anyone figure out the 2.89. Super user issue ? besides flashing the zip is there a way to have it in the rom and still maintain root?
i noticed if i push the 3.2 su binary to the phone while its on then give it 06755 permissions it will show thats its working and allow the Superuser to be granted?
has anyone tried to fix this yet??
i been working on it for hours and still no luck..
also i cant get any keyboard to install with a rom is that on my end?

Hello, I have a few questions concerning the Polaroid PMID4311 (a cheapo 4.3 inch allwinner CPU device running 4.0 my little brother picked up). Fist off let me say I am no noob at android, and have had much experience modding my galaxy player. The problem is he wants to play some Gameloft games (nova 2, asphalt 6), but of course they give infamous "this device is not compatible request a refund" message. So no biggie, I just change the model in build.prop, right? Now here is the mystery; it doesn't make any difference what I change the model to - it still gives the error and still shows the original model under "about device" in system settings. I have done this countless times on other devices with no problem. I have checked the default.prop, and the boot image is insecure (ro.secure=0). The device came rooted. Any thoughts? Also, if anyone has this device, I seem to have lost my backup of the original build.prop, and would appreciate a copy. Thank you!

I use notepad++ on windows, but have also edited it on the device using root explorer. I know this isn't the issue since certain properties will work if I change them (example: I can change the firmware version from 4.0.4 to 4.1.2).

Dude, I'm not an idiot! I have been telling you I have already done this multiple times. I know perfectly well how to edit a build.prop, but what I am saying it's it seems to have no effect on this device for some reason. I really don't need to figure it out anymore since I just edited the apks to remove the compatibly check.

Hi guys,
I am new in this. I have downloaded all the files that bizcuite mentions (I think). One of my questions is, is the zlmage file the same as the kernel file. If not where can I download the kernel?
When I try to install the zlmage the archos says that it couldn't find any zlmage, while I have put in on the internal sd card. Also I get the question to put in the last disk because it is a zip file.
I hope someboy can help me. I have been reading as much as I could find in this forum, but it won't work.
Thank you.
Regards,
Nino
I bet you didnt reach as much as you could. zImage is the kernel file and it has to be renamed from "zImageBLABLABLA.zip" to "zImage" without extension or something else like a date of the build etc. You have to put it inside the recovery not inside the SD card.

Hi guys,
I have downloaded all the files as mentioned in the manual. Have installed the zlmage and initramfs.
Then I have put on the root of the internal sd card the image of ICS and renamed it, copied also the ICS 512 mb(data.img.tar.gz) file and have made the .lst file. (all done through the update firmware menu)
Still I think I am doing something wrong because when I go out (push the on button as confirmation to update) of the update firmware menu it gives me a failed to update firmware message.
Hope you can help me.
Sorry for my ignorance.
Thank you.
