It's not a bug. That's just how it is with the X10.
Ok.. thank you very much...

Been using the X10 with the MW600 for 3 months now.
You can:
-be synched to your laptop and when you receive a call, the phone will take over.
-listen to radio and answer calls.
-See the phone number of whomever is calling you.
-double press the talk button to redial last outgoing contact.
-Use the play, rewind and forward buttons to control mediascape.
You can't:
-See the name of the contact even if it is saved in your phonebook.
-See the name of the track.
The two can'ts are what stands the mw600 out, but I honestly do not regret getting it as for it has decent audio transmission. Plus, there is a chance of this all being fixed after update by SE

no problem.
I use a mac, so I don't know if this will hold true for you as well. When I use the MW600 as a "headset" the audio quality diminishes, but when I use it as "stereo headphones", the audio quality is great.
Its all in the profiles...

This is essentially true for all bluetooth capable PCs as well. In bluetooth terminology the term "headset" and "headphones" refer to what is called as bluetooth profiles. More info here:
https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Bluetooth_profile
The "headphones" or the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) is designed to provide high quality audio (stereo or mono) transmission capabilities between two bluetooth capable devices. Hence, the difference that you notice.

good to know, thanks mate.
Just a quick dumb question: Can I use the X10's charger to charge the MW600? I am going on a trip soon and just want to carry one charger. Thanks.

Yes, you can use either or.
MW600 also works fine with spotify. Recommend the AKG K 450 headset with the short cable
With android 2.1 the x10 will be able to show track names and caller names as it doesn't lack the blutooth profiles which android 1.6 doesn't have.
Ps: just sitting in the train listening music with astro player through mw 600

afaik, there is no specific profile for displaying music track names, but caller ID work off the phonebook access profile (PBAP). so i'm guessing music track titles work off the phone's pbap as well?
I've just got mine, the quality is really good.
Additional bad points for me:
Mediscape: I can use the play/pause & skip tracks on the video, but doesn't work on the music !?
No "hold" on the buttons, as I keep accidentally touching the volume controls as volume control is touch sensitive
I haven't tried the voice activated calling though...

Weird.. it worked for the music for me.
for the touch sensitive volume button, you should hold it, not swipe it if you want to use the pause/play/next/prev buttons. it shouldn't that hard.
Mine definitely doesn't work with the music (in Mediascape), only with the video...
When I press on any of the 3 buttons:
PREVIOUS KEY / PLAY-PAUSE KEY / NEXT KEY
the light either side of middle button of the x10 lights up, but that's it.
I'm on standard R2BA020 (yeah, I tried switching it off and on again = didn't fix it!)
- also tried SEUS, it said no update for me - followed instructions (including taking the battery out etc)
I've only got one other music app = tuneWiki = the buttons work on that.
So, for me, Must be something wrong with Mediascape's Music program
== Quick Update ==
I've just rooted my x10i / debranded it, and managed further update the firmware (via SEUS) to R2BA026
= Still no joy on the playback controls for Mediascape's Music.
I've resetted the Headset
= Still no joy on the playback controls for Mediascape's Music.
Hope the next major update will fix this for me...
Instead of using the headphones can you activate the speaker phone to listen to the radio?
i just got my mw600 today. I havent used it for the gf's x10 yet (im in charge of the phone, she's just the end user) but it works fine on my k790a. It displays the name of the caller, the song titles and all the buttons work as suggested.
Im curious as to why this old ass phone from 2006 is capable of doing all this while the flagship x10 cant....
Is it possible for the headset to work properly with the Ray? I'm using the MW600 now, and the music titles doesn't show. With the ICS update the contacts name show when receiving calls, didn't work with GB. So my question is, why should the MW1 work with all its features when the MW600 doesn't? It actually works better with iOS. Totally stupid... Its missing Bluetooth profiles that makes it non-working right? Since I have the ICS, then it wouldn't matter what phone I'm using. So I guess I can't count on using all the features on MW1 with Ray?

I got the music titles working on CyanogenMod 7.2(CM9 probably also) on my LWW. On stock indeed not, haven't tested calling stuff with it yet.
Smart Wireless Headset Pro is not released yet, so we do not know, what features really work with Xperia phones and what don't.
Voice call speaker seems to be quiet even if I've got In-call volume set to highest level. There is no problem to hear my interlocutor when is silence around but it starts to be more difficult to hear clearly in loud environment like restaurant or street. Is there any hidden option or service menu to help solve that issue? Have any one else got problems with speaker in Xperia Sola or it's just me?

I noticed the same thing. It would be nice to be able to boost it a little. I can hardly hear the phone in my truck.

I just brought a new MW600
It is connecting to my Xperia U but while playing Music, there is no sound in headset
Please help
It works for me on ICS and GB too. Maybe you don't know that the volume can be set on the phone, and after you raised it, you should set the volume on the headset too?
Maybe you just paired the headset function only, and not the media streaming feature? Pair it again:
-power off the MW600.
-power it on, but dont release the power on button
-now the phone can see the headset.
-pair it again
-good luck.

I have an Xperia p and a mw-600 it's funny cause on other smartphones such as Samsung the display on the mw-600 actually displays track info, which I found it does not when connected to a Sony smart phone, another thing when I try yo change tracks using the headset button it skips like 10 tracks instead of just skipping one, just don't understand why this Sony product works better with non Sony phones! Seems stupid Sony get your **** together!

Hi,
To cut the long storhy short, i am looking for a good non-OEM headset that has seprate volument controls. Its surprising that we hardly nhave any heanrodi compatable headsets with seprate volumen buttons from makers like Senn..,JAys etc..
Thanks to Jellybean, we are no longer able to use "long press option" and there is no good workaround also for that.. iPhone head sets also not working as + and - buttons are not recognized on adnroid..
Please suggest a workaround for a normal headset or a good quality bass output headset please..
I am using rootbox JB4.2.2 rom on a Galaxy note 2 (N7100) phone.
Sony MH1C? However before buying check the Head-Fi topic regarding it, buy afaik it works.
