Well some people sometimes buy a device and it comes pre-rooted and for some reason they want to know the original root date well it's quite simple head over to your phone and dial 3845#*xxx# (where xxx is your model number), scroll down to LG RCT and touch Display Result there you have your status.
Didn't work. D802

Another way: power off your phone, press Vol Up+Power this will enter Download mode.
in download mode you will see at the bottom if you are rooted you will see ROOTED in red

Instead of entering download mode, isn't it easier to download root checker apps from the play store?

the point of this is to know the original root date, some people actually would like to know this kind of info and it could be useful when buying a new phone

Yup there is, I read that in the battery thread for Xperia s in which doomlord had written that start the phone in safe mode and if the battery drain is still there, its due to a bug in android and if not it's due to an app!!

At first i thought so but upon further research it is not unfortunality. it would be nice though to have a open p769 rom to see if we can unlock using that rom. when i tried a couple of open roms from the p760 and tryed to do the unlock myself sometimes it wouuld reboot other times i get a black screen upon rebooting. no matter what i do i get the black screen upon reboot most of the time

Did you press the volume up button when you get the black screen. The p768 models only see a black screen when they enter fastboot (from what I've heard).

My fiance can't access the play store on her P769. I forget what the error is, but she used to be able to access it. Her date and time is correct. It's rooted, but with the stock rom and kernel (I think the software version is P76920H).
Any ideas? Thanks!

Try to erase play store cache in settings. If it wouldn't help try to delete google account, and login again.

Rooted?
Go to Root Browser and navigate to System -> Etc, and find the "hosts" file. Delete it and reboot. That should fix it. You're welcome.

I haven't spent any time with her phone over the past month, but I'm working on it today. Since I first wrote, it lost it's ability to access data over the cell network, and won't connect to many wifi networks, either. I cleared data for Play Store and Play Services. I get a notification that it needs to update Play Services, but when I click on that, it goes to Play Store and says "No connection - Retry".
I want to wipe the phone and start new with a fresh ROM, but I can't remember how to reboot to Recovery. Holding volume-down while it powers up doesn't get me into Recovery. I'm not having much luck with Google on that, either.
[email protected],
Might have to do a factory reset and reroot it. I forgot the method on doing a factory reset. Something about holding a lot of buttons down.. check around, someone will tell you.

Just in case you haven't got it figured out yet. Power off phone. Turn back on and wait for the Lg logo to come on and when the bottom back lights start blinking hold the - volume button and it will go to recovery

Thanks! I didn't figure that out, but I managed to fix her phone (including wi-fi/data and Play Store) by re-flashing the stock ROM with the LGST tool. I remembered holding volume-down when powering up the phone from my HTC phones, but I guess you hold volume-down at a different point in the boot process with LG phones.
Hi. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place.
I have an Archos 70 xenon tablet (uk) It's an ex display model and the demo mode is on there.
I've tried holding volume up and power and I can get to recovery. But im unable to select anything while in recovery.
Tried to connect it to laptop but my pic can't see it obviously. I also tried downloading the firmware from archos website and putting it on a micro sd. But this also does nothing as it's on demo mode.
Any help/advice please?

if you can access the settings, go to security, and look if Demo is checked on, on administators.
Dont know if it would work but try to open the phone app and dial *#7780#*#* and see what happens. Its Supposed to factory reset the phone.
