Hmm.... Well, I use Google Voice and for that you just press 4 while on a call and it gets saved and transcribed to your Google voicemail.

Can't seem to get Voice input working. Using on Cobratos Formel MIUI, but everytime I press the flame to use voice dictation, i get "CONNECTION FAILED".
Anyone have any ideas? Installed TTS Extended, Google Voice Search, etc etc etc.... English is selected in the settings of the keyboard, but no go...
Forgot to mention also that the slide technique of entering text no longer works either (ala Swype or SlideIt)
Maybe you don't have paid the apk ^^

Anyone know how to change the volume of the key presses on FlexT9? It's super loud. I still want it to "click" when I press a key, just probably 20% of how loud it is now.
I'm texting this girl I want to get with and she say that every text says "Hi, my name is david and you have the wrong number". It said something different when I was on CleanROM, and because of said problem I switched to SteelROM. Now I have the same problem.
Is it something caused by the ROMs because this only happened when I switched from Synergy.
I'm going back to Synergy now. I also have this thing when someone calls and I click to answer it, it says that someone is calling and I have to press '1' to answer it.
How can I fix this. It's pissing me off because this chick is getting mad and that's not good for business. lmfao But seriously, please help.

the press 1 to answer thing is a google voice issue.. the text maybe as well.. how long ago did you set it up?? go to the google voice website from a computer and check through all of your settings, i know from there you can change the press 1 thing.. i would then look at the settings for that person individually..
i know my best friend had almost the exact same thing happen with a girl that he was interested in.. but he just wouldnt receive her texts, she didnt get a random text back.. he ended up unsubscribing from voice to fix it, because he didnt want to take the time to fix the settings.

In previous versions of the Shostock ICS ROM, when I used voice commands with my Blueant Q2 headset, it automatically used Samsung Voice Command for making hands-free calls (worked great). But since I upgraded to 4.1.4, it defaults to Google Voice Dialer and then doesn't work. I can't find GVD in the applications list to deactivate nor can I find a way to make SVC the default.
Shoman didn't have any idea about the problem.
Can someone help?
Thanks in advance.
I think shoman misunderstood your original question when he responded about installing SVC yourself, but you only gave him a couple hours to respond to your clarification about setting the default before you posted over here.
Which voice command pops up for you now when you press the search button on the phone? The Google Now one that has "Search, or say Google" in the search bar or a different one?

When I press the button my Blueant Q2 headset, the Google Voice Dialer pops up. The little red circle to the right of Google then has a never-ending circling line and GVD never seems to engage.
I want SVC to pop up, not GVD.
Does that help? Can you help?
BTW, I just upgraded to Shostock 4.1.4.
Gotcha. I think I understand. Have you tried a long press on your phone's search button to pop up all search/dial options and set Samsung's to default?

When I press the Search button, Google Now popped up, but I told it "Maybe Later."
I just tried long pressing Search, per your suggestion, and set Samsung Voice Talk as the default. After that, when I long press Search SVC comes up. But when I use my headset, GVD still pops up.
Other ideas?
I do appreciate the help...
After messing around some, this seems to be a problem with 4.1.4. I use AVX as my default and hadn't gotten around to reinstalling it since I flashed shoman's latest. After restoring it, I set it to default and am having the same exact deal as you, a press on the search button opens Google Now but my headset starts the Google dialer with the spinning red circle even though my default is set to something else. A long press on the search button will open my default, though.
Just flashed back to 4.1.2 and the problem persisted, so it isn't the latest version of the Shostock ROM.
So what has changed? I don't know. But being able to voice dial while driving is essential for me and I can't do it now.
Thoughts?

Exactly! Glad to hear that greater minds than mine are having the same problem.
While I have you, have you tested any of the Jelly Bean ROMs available? If so, any recommendations?

Nope, I haven't and probably won't until sho releases one. I'm pretty dedicated to his ROMs.
You want to post about this in the Dev thread or me?

I'm going to flash back to 4.1.1 to do a real test. I'll report back.
Again, many thanks.
Just restored back to 4.1.1 and SVC works fine. So it is since 4.1.2.
Good detective work on your part.
At least I'm functioning again.
I'm making dinner atm, but as soon as I get a few, I'll let shoman know.

It's more than that. Before Google Now, a press on the phone's search button opened whatever your default was set to (same as a long press on my Plantronics set). Now, a press always opens Google Now's search, and a long press opens your default. I could live with that, but our headsets now always open up neither, it starts the old google voice command. Pretty funky.

Its not more then that... googlenow replaces the googlesearch apk. Voice search with the long press has always been there and that hasn't changed.

Hardly an "epic fail" on your part given the awesome ROM that you have created.
Any solution?
I restored back to 4.1.1 and it works great. As I need hands-free, I'll stick with that until this problem gets ironed out (or you create a JB ROM!).

Well I'm gonna have to remove Google now and offer it as an add on.... Well I'll link to it so people can choose for themselves.
I don't like adding something that breaks something else. There is an s voice that works I guess...I might try that.

Sounds great, Shoman! I look forward to the tweak...
Thanks for your responsiveness. Any thoughts on developing a Jelly Bean ROM (no pressure, just curious).

I keep having to login throughout day or after reboot.
Anyone remember if there is a service or something I may of frozen that would cause this? I'm rooted and deodexed.
I'm going to start unfreezing everything tonight in hopes of determining what is causing it.
have a solution for you.

This. Works great and it's free.
Is it difficult to setup?
I don't want another phone number; don't want someone calling me through google number.
Is there a way to just use Voice as the voicemail service and still have people call me at my normal phone number?

I did; tested it from office phone and it went right to it.
I love how I can listen to my messages or read transcript from web or phone.
This is awesome.

I'm loving the Google voice. The only issue I have is that transcript is not instant. I have to click on VM and wait for it to load. I'm going to probably disable it because it's not very good. I don't really care for it. Overall this is awesome. I can't believe I never used it before.
