Sprint Wifi Calling network error issue - HTC One Max

Just a heads up, if you want this feature enabled you hatfa call sprint and have it turned on for that particular line. The error isnt really and error. Theyll push a service update and a prl update for whatever reason. after a reboot, youll be able to accept and esign. Boom. Wifi calling. Also, Tech support seems to be the only people that can do this.

I didn't have any issues activating Wi-Fi calling on my phone. I opened it up, agreed to things, phone rebooted and it works.

I just figured if anyone had a problem, check there first.

I actually had to call as my device wouldn't activate by default. Sprint had to push the settings to my device. This helped me know my device wasn't defective as no one else seemed to have a problem but me. Thanks for the thread!

Is everyone rooted with no problems also what firmware are you on, After writing to device my phone says it's enabled reboots and still no WiFi calling

T-Mobile Amaze 4g Software Update- WiFi calling included

Time to check for updates! Per tmonews.com, an update is available that includes wifi calling. I can verify that it does in fact include wifi calling.

Well I just went to check for updates and I see here that it says the update includes wifi calling and new sim card, so on and so forth.
Anyway it's downloading now.
Will report back once it's done.
Edit:
My phone has been updated successfully to version 1.43.531.3 and "Wifi Calling Feature" is now under Settings.
Except I have ER05 "Invalid SIM Card" which means I can't use wifi calling until I get the "new" SIM card.
Anyway that's the update!
Does this WiFi calling not handle WiFi to cellular handoffs? My phone says WiFi calling requires me to be in WiFi area all the time and my signal bars are null and have an "x" above them. Anyone else seeing this?

Oh I was never rooted. But thanks anyway.
Error REG99
-OTA updated to 1.43.531.3.
-Have new SIM card since day 1.
-911 Address set up.
Attempting to enable Wi-Fi calling results with REG99 error. Will call 611 later and see what they have to say...
Mine is working perfectly...thank God because I get really crappy signal in my apartment...

My phone had previously only been temporarily rooted. No Bootloader change, appears the old Zerg Rush no longer works for that after the update to 1.43.513.3. What do I need to do with that image file linked and what does that affect?

You need to go back into Settings/WiFi calling preferences and select Cellular Preferred

First you would need to unlock your bootloader.
Afterwards find a custom rom that you would want to install and put it somewhere on your sdcard.
Put the attached zip file in the root directory of the external sdcard (ie /sdcard2/PH85IMG.zip) and power off your phone.
Hold down the volume down button while pressing power.
You should see a white screen and it'll scan your sdcard then find the .zip file.
It should prompt you to update the recovery. Volume up to update.
Then reboot by pressing the power button.
When the phone is powered up delete the PH85IMG.zip file (or simply rename it or move it, your call. Just as long as it's no longer in the root of the sdcard.)
Now to get to recovery you have two options.
Download ROM Manager and select the Reboot to Recovery option.
Power off the phone again, hold Volume Down button, press Power to get to the hboot screen (white scree), select RECOVERY.
From this you can install custom roms.

Just like the old Wifi Calling, this one doesn't hand off. If you're on Wifi calling and on a call and you leave wifi area, the call will drop.
what if you have a T Mobile phone and using it on another carrier. Can you still get the update?
thanks

I checked software updates and it says mine is up to date. I am rooted and running quiksense. Not sure it that makes a difference.
You will have to wait for the dev to publish an update.

Droid Razr wifi tether question.

I recently got the Droid Razr Maxx rooted it and installed wifi tether. when i open up wifi tether it works fine but at the drop down bar i get the stock wifi saying something about configuring the wifi. Should i worry about the stock wifi reporting back that im using the tether option or should i just keep using it?
thanks
That's weird. Is wifi turned off? Can you post a screenshot?

The touch to configure hotspot is the stock app for tether, if you're running the rooted version just ignore it and it may go away after a while. Either way you don't want to let VZW know you are tethering even with an unlimited data plan but no hotspot payment.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
thats exactly what i get. I rooted my razr and im using the RAZRX V1.0 rom. I thought that the message from the stock hotspot would go away when i changed the rom but the message "tethering or mobile hotspot active" still pops up. I have a rooted htc thunderbolt and that message never popped up when i used the tether. It could be that i have a custom rom on it but im not sure. should i worry about that message popping up or continue using the wifi as is?
thanks
I only started getting just problem after updating to the latest Asia.en rom. also after updating to the latest asia rom, the wifi output seems to be greatly reduced.
Glad others are having this problem. Just got the Maxx and updated to the newest OTA and then rooted. I get that message every time I start a tether app (Open Garden and Wifi Tether).
This is seems like some people get the message, while others done under the same conditions. Maybe it's the root method we used, I used motofail.
I dont think its the root method because i used droid razr root and im getting that message.
I wouldn't worry about the mobile hot spot pop up. Just ignore it.

WiFi issue

Anyone else having WiFi issues?
I can connect to networks but I don't actually have internet access(I have tried on multiple networks, both secured and unsecured).
Any ideas?

I have had the same issue and it resolved after rebooting. But it came back once I let the phone idle for sometime. I have to restart the wifi for it to start working again!! I don't know much about this.. but its similar to the smartsync problem with One X.. except that the wifi disconnects every time the phone idles for a few minutes! Anyone else had this problem?

Try turning WiFi security off....

I had the same problem. Fixed it by turning off wifi, unchecking the "Use DLNA if DHCP is not available" setting, then turning wifi back on.
Faulty device
I tried all of those combinations but neither worked. Took the cell to a VZW store and they replaced it. Everything is good with this one, so the old was just faulty. Are you guys using any screen protectors or cases?

When this happens, go to advanced Wifi settings and check your IP. Most likely you have a 169. address and no useful default gateway. This generally happens when DLNA IP option is enabled and your DHCP server isn't fast enough for the [bad] rom settings provided by HTC. If that's the case, the just disable that option and cycle Wifi.
im having a problem as well just got my dna yesterday and it seems when its asleep for a bit i awake it and then disconnects flashes to 4g connected back to my network but i have no activity at that moment then i have turn wifi off and on to get it back
i know its not my network no other problems with over 5 other devices and never had a problem with any phone for years
My girlfriend has this issue with her DNA. They replaced it with a brand new one, same issue. We have a wireless router that has 3 laptops, another phone, two tablets plus my friends phones and tablets when they come over, no issues for anyone. But the two DNA's we have tried, do.
Connects, and then it says it is connected but stops working after a short time. Shows that it is connected but anything that requires internet sits there spinning. Disable Wifi and it kicks over to 4G and emails and stuff starts flooding in. Go into Wifi settings and turn it back on, and it seems like it keeps turning itself on and off, like it is stuck in a loop.
Both DNA's, same exact issue. BOth stock, non-root, both have had hard resets, nothing seems to fix it. Some searching on Google says that the issue, while not common, it's all that un-common either. Seems to be an issue with the phone itself.

That's my fear, that in order to "fix" the DNA, I have to void the warranty. If it were my phone I would be fine with that, but she is hesitant to...

it really isn't a big deal. If you have to return it for any reason bricking it or reverting it to stock isn't a problem and in all the years I've been working with Android, out of tens of thousands of users that I've had exposure to, I've never once have i heard of a carrier denying warranty work because of a phone being modified. they're generally just not smart enough to even know how to check if they even care to check. The only thing that I've heard about is people walking into store and telling them that the phone has been modified. In that case they will use it against you. Anyway you're better off with a third party ROM and a better kernel for this phone.
Used FXR from the market and fixed my wifi issues.

Went back to vzw, they said that HTC knows of the problem, it is software related but no eta on the fix. Not wishing for another thunderbolt debacle, she exchanged it for a RAZR HD.

THIS.
I tried it exactly how you said to, disabled the DLNA option, turned off then on my Wi-Fi, and boom, started working again. I thought my phone could have been faulty, but I bet anyone who tries this will see their issue fixed.

I'm having the same problem but the DLNA option was already turned off by default. Wifi works right after a restart and then stops working a short time later. Once it stops working, I get a blank screen when I try to view the available wireless networks, even though this screen was populated with multiple networks previously. Frequently, I get a "Process com.android.settings isn't responding" message. I had these exact issues with my first DNA and Verizon sent me a replacement. Same issues with the replacement. Anyone else experiencing this?

[Q] I can't make any calls from time to time. Why?

Every now and again my phone won't make phone calls. When I hit call it pops up "call not sent" and goes back to the previous screen. I thought maybe out had something to do with WiFi calling but even if I turn off the Wi-Fi I have to restart the phone to make a call.

Have you tried updating profile then prl?

Maybe after those go to "Activate device".
Been there done that ... It doesn't happen often , only 3-4 times since I have owned the phone.

I'd love to figure this out soon. I only really have small gripes with this phone other than this.
Same issue, fairly rare. Thought maybe it was bluetooth related. But then it did it another time where I don't remember being connected. It is annoying when it does happen though.
Same thing happens on the M8 when we got the update with wifi calling and its enabled. Since i left it disabled i havn't seen it again. I think it is caused by wifi calling.
Try rebooting the phone.
I had the same problem, cant make calls or receive them, what worked for me was go into settings>network>mobile networks>network mode>prefered network WCDMA only
dont know if i have a faulty device or maybe it depends on the connection of my carrier...
Wifi calling is my vote.

WIFI Calling

So I did a restore using the LG tool and I am missing the wifi calling app. I can't seem to get it at all from any source, I've read some discussions about it but haven't gotten anywhere with it.
Anyone have some advice ? Ive tried all the ## diag numbers and all of that to try to get the sprint software to load but it doesn't load the WIFI calling app or any other sprint apps.
Can someone maybe provide me with the APK ?
Hopefully this helps!

I am not sure how to make this stuff active..I've tried every procedure possible on this to get it enabled. ##RTN# and nothing no Sprint boot or shutdown or Sprint apps including the wifi calling.
I'm not sure if it's a blessing or now I can't use any of those features anymore.

I've used the tool 5 times to get back to stock (things I've tried that don't work, never with the build prop except the multi window) and not once has all the apps installed. I.e. wifi calling. You must know your msl. Once you know that you're golden. Restore back to stock. Don't bother with downloading or really setting up anything. Go to phone, dial ##rtn#. Option 2 i believe, put in your msl and bingo. It will restart have you sign in again and all that jazz and whalla. Wifi calling and all the other Sprint bs is back. Have any questions please ask.
