GPS turns on by itself, nothing helped - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Whenever I turn on WiFi or 3g Internet (allows data connection of a sim card), GPS turns on by itself. I have tried a number of ways to prevent it from doing so:
1) unchecked "Allow the applications determine my location..." in Locations services
2) unchecked "GPS" there
3) unchecked "GPS-A" there
4) disabled some applications which may have turned it on such as Lenovo weather or just disallowed them to ask for my location
5) disable this for google services
None of these helped. It keeps turning on by itself. Specifically, the checkboxes "Allow the applications determine my location..." and "GPS" in Locations services get checked by themselves as well once I turn on the Internet.
Lenovo s650, Android 4.2.2.

It even turn on during a call.

[Q] Samsung galaxy mini plus wifi problem

Hi, I have problem with wifi conection. I'm normally connected to wifi but I don't have internet access.
You might think that you're really connected to a wi-fi, to verify your wi-fi connectivity, do this steps.
You must turn-off first your existing wifi connection before proceeding this steps!
Using your Samsung Galaxy Mini, go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Wi-fi Settings, turn-on your Wi-fi connectivity there.
If your SGM can scan wifi connection then it might give you several wifi networks.
Below Network Notification is Wi-fi Networks, you can see a list of available wifi networks there and you can clearly say that you are NOT really Connected if the status of each Wi-fi networks is giving you this message. "Remembered, secured with WPA/WPA2PSK or secured with Password".
To sum it up, you're SGM can scan wifi networks but it cannot successfully connect because some of wi-fi networks are secured with Password. Just ask for it's password, otherwise, find a wi-fi network which doesn't have a network password.
What if you're already connected but still, cannot access internet surfing..
Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications.
Under Manage Applications, point to All tab and find Internet on the list and Opera (if you have) and Google Play Store (formerly known as Market) and Open each Applications.
for example: Open Google Play Store then click Clear Data and Clear Cache then repeat this steps to other applications which I mentioned above.
Hope it helps

[Q] Can't turn off Wi-Fi & mobile network location

Help! I'm running a rooted LG G2 under Verizon -- 4.2.2 and stock ROM with the Nova Launcher.
Here's the problem:
When I go to Settings -> Location access, I cannot turn off "Wi-Fi & mobile network location."
As soon as I turn on the main "Access to my location" slider, it asks my permission for Wi-Fi location. If I decline, it won't turn location on at all.
Once that main location setting is on, "Wi-Fi & mobile network location" is already selected. If I try to uncheck it, the checkmark will return when I come back to that screen, or simply reappear after a second or two.
The "GPS & Verizon location services" works as expected -- I can turn it off, and if I turn it on, it asks for permission again.
Any ideas what might be forcing "Wi-Fi & mobile network location" on? I could list everything I have installed, but I thought there might be a known culprit. Many thanks!

[Q] Battery drain WiFi related

ZTE Grand X In, Android 4.0.4.
Google Talk services are draining battery, that seems to be known problem. But, this issue for this topic is different one.
I checked Better Battery Stats, Better WiFi. Seems that wake related to wifi is the main issue many times.
The problem is - when I have WiFi hotspot, good signal, got connection, but do not get network access (needs to be authenticated), all of that in background (no alert, no visible action on screen). So, on WiFi screen I can see connected, but actually I did not get network access, so all services which need network access (including Google services) are simultaneously trying to go to network, to get updates or any other data and - that is draining battery heavily - access to network is not existing.
Anybody experienced this? How to fix this issue?
So, connected to WiFi hotspot, very good signal, the WiFi is connected.
No network access (WiFi needs to be authenticated), all of that in background (no alert, no visible action on screen).
For example - trying to reach 8.8.8.8 - Google DNS does not work
Phone is rooted (just to say that - I may install any application that would be helpful, also, access to configuration files available).
What needs to be done? Which parameters are to be reconfigured?
How to control the number of attempts Android is doing from different applications to access network resources?

Turn wifi on automatically

Hi all,
I have a problem
Samsung S9+ / Oreo 8
WiFi does not automatically turn on near saved networks any more.
Have tried:
-restart phone
-reset network settings
-put on airplane mode
-make hotspot
-uncheked the option, restart the phone, check the option
When i turn the WiFi manually it Auto-connects to the saved network.
Android build
R16NW.G965FXXS2BRI1
Phone does not enable the wifi automatically in places where I have the wifi network saved.
Network wifi is checked to "Turn on Wi-Fi automatically" and in Improve accuracy settings, Wi-Fi scanning and Bluetooth scanning are also turned on.
When I am at home or in a place where I use the saved wifi network, I must enable the wifi manually (toggle the wifi button on) and the phone connects to that wifi with no problem.
I aven tried to boot in safe mode and see if there it enables the wifi automatically and it did not. What i did:
-disabled manually the wi-fi
-restarted the phone into safe mode
-the wi-fi staid disabled although the option to turn on automatically wifi and wi-fi scanning were turned on. the wifi signal was full bar also.
I have noticed that when disabling the power saving feature(which was on medium with background data enabled) my wifi network was added to frequently used networks. I disabled it manually and restarted the phone. When the phone booted, the WiFi turned itself on.
Then i enabled the power saving feature also on medium with background data enabled, i turned off the WiFi manually, immediately i got a notification that my network was taken out from frequently used network. I disabled the power saving feature, restarted the phone and again the WiFi does not turn automatically on.

Location Re-enable Spontaneously When Connecting to Different Wifi

This is a really odd issue and it is a privacy concern. I have a Samsung Galaxy A51 and a Samsung Galaxy Tab A with Android 11, and I have noticed on both that the device location setting is spontaneously being re-enabled without my intervention on both devices. It happens under the following scenario:
-Location off
-Wifi on
-No apps other than system apps (which cannot be uninstalled and cannot have location permissions revoked) have location access permissions granted
-While device connects automatically to a different wifi network than device was most recently previously connected to (e.g. being connected to wifi at home, then automatically connecting to wifi when visiting family at their house) or when manually connecting to a different wifi network (e.g. when connecting to wifi at a hotel).
I also notice that not only does locations services get enabled, but that the location being accessed icon shows up too. Yet, when I look at the location access setting menu in settings, it shows that nothing has been accessing my location.
Does anybody know why this is happening? Is this issue limited to Samsung devices or all Android devices?
Find my phone is set to enabled from within settings, but this wouldn't be causing this, right?
