my other device galaxy ace is working excellent with same router
Try with some other wifi like ur friend or someone and see if it gives same problem or not.
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA Premium App
It would have been a problem if your phone was not even able to connect to wifi. But since it is able to connect and work it is not a problem.
Also link speed is not a problem if your internet connection is not faster than 11mbps

Hi all!
I'm running Cyanogenmod 7.1 nightly 116 version on my GS2.
My wifi has been running perfectly until eariler today.
It works perfectly with wifi's that have no password-protection but when I try a network with WPA/WPA2 PSK security it just goes
connecting-->scanning-->connecting-->disconnected.
I've used this wifi many times before and as late as earlier this morning.
Do you guys have any idéa what might be wrong with it?
I have tried changing what channel to use and I've forgotten the wifi connection and tried to reconnect but it doesn't work.
I've also cleared cache and dalvik cache of phone (don't know if it makes any difference but I thought why not).
Any help is appreciated!
Best Regards
siwan
I think that if you check the Q&A section of this forum, you'll find a bit about this.
I think I read that if you power cycle the router (off then on again), it might work.
Just make sure you have the right type of security (WEP, WPA etc) and the right password first.
Sorry I've restarted the router as well, just forgot to mention it.
And yes password etc. is correct

Hi there , you should probably post your question in the CyanogenMod forums or at least on the Nightly thread. Anyway chances that someone will answer properly are slim , since it's about the nightly builds , which are very unstable and experimental only. And the only rule about nightlies is "you don't ask for ETAs". Therefore your best bet is probably to flash the stable 7.1 CM version from
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=galaxys2
I've had it and it and WiFi worked perfectly both on WEP and WPA protected networks.
Come to think of it , everything worked perfectly , at least for me
Good luck mate
Well, funnily enough the wifi was working again when I woke up this morning even though I didn't do anything different,
I guess the nightlies are a bit of a mystery
Well thanks for the replies guys!
Hi all,
I noticed wifi connectivity issue on new ICS ROM. I tried both ICS official and custom ROM. Both are having same issue. For wifi It seems GB is better than ICS !!!
Issues:
- when i download something, sometime connection dropped and reconnect in a second.
- when i open a pages on browser, get delay to load a normal page. It seems mobile network is better than wifi
Did anyone feel the same, please share your commend here.
Also a thread i found on sony forum, replicate the same issue!!!
Yes even i am having the same issue...
this is already posted mates,

I cross check the router with GB Neo v mobile, working great !, Also i am using wifi at office, working with ICS same result (Office router can be connect over 1000 in a time).
However is a GB problem too
Finally is emerging the bad wifi module we have on 2011 Sony, and is not ICS the cause, but probably it shows better the lack of wifi.
Keep in mind that the issue is hardware, this chip can't guarantee a stable connection and a stable reception of the beacons.
See the immense discussion on sony support forum about "xperia keep dropping wifi connection".
There is nothing to do, bad hardware and stop.
Who didn't experience the problem with GB was only lucky, try to change the router or download a ubunto distro and see like it drops.
Agreed

I used both custom and official rom, same problem !!!
Here is thread with same problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599459
and as you can see problems got solved with replacing router.
There are 2 problems in ICS with WiFi.
1) people can't connect AT ALL to their routers, which worked on GB,
2) dropout issues.
So many of you who have those problems, by this time you could create list of routers which have that problem, and see if there is pattern.
Or wait some dev who have that problem to fix it, as it's hard to create something if you don't experience that problem.

After installing almost every mainstream stable Oreo ROM I could find in this forum, I found a problem always recurring no matter what ROM I use, simply:
I can't receive any calls and SMS.
I am using a CDMA card, and I used every method I could use. But the problem remains. Only Pixel experience could keep the functionality. Pls,help.
Did try flashing latest oreo modem/firmwares.

It's so weird that only Pixel Experience works fine. I think I am gonna stick with it, for now.
Tip from me , do not fiddle with the Network settings alot , for example do not set the network to WCDMA/GSM mode. Use the modes that are higher in the menu with lots of Network modes.
Same issue here
I have the same issue- the 4G volte Airtel is not stable at all after installing all kinds of oreo roms.
Eventually i had to install the Europen version of MIUI rom which works so fine.
There is no issue when i use the MIUI basaed rom. however all other sorts of oreo roms have unstable thing.

but if I want the network to stay stable, i have to degrade it to 3G settings and then it works just fine... compromising the 4G speed
According to the issue- the network Bars are not stable, it comes and goes, also while playing online games such as clash royale, the internet disconnects, says try again on repeated occasions

Nope, none of the network settings work. Pixel Experience is definitely something weird by now… I still don't know why IT
's functioning and why it's not. Is it a GApps problem?

It's a custom ROM problem, my guess is the ROM supports loads of network modes while the phone doesn't. But the thing is you won't lose signal service after u change it but after a restart. This was especially a problem for me because i do not use 4G which is enabled by default. I'm on a modded MIUI Rom now, no such problems here...

"But the phone doesn't" seems like a weird reason because this place is exclusive for RedMi 5 Plus or Note 5.
Is there aby big difference between Note 5 and 5+?

The phone also doesn't have an OLED screen but still most of these ROM's have Smart pixels feature built in ... think about it.
Is anyone else having problems getting a Wi-Fi connection with one of the custom ROMs?
I had occasion to fire up my BNTV250a running CM12.1 and found that I could not connect with my network. So I brought out my BNTV250 running AOSP 7.0 and tried it. Also no success. The last time I used both of them they were fine. It seems unlikely to be a hardware issue since both tablets are failing in the same way.
I thought it might some sort of outmoded security stuff in the ROMs, but again, that doesn't seem to fit the scenario since they were connecting previously. And anyway, I have an old no-SIM phone running KitKat and it has no trouble connecting to the same Wi-Fi network.
Any ideas?
Edit: I took my tablets to my local library and had no trouble connecting to the WiFi there. I can't figure out what is going on at home since I had to change the password on both tablets when we got a new router some time ago and they were working fine then. To my knowledge, no changes have been made to the router since. This is basically making both tablets bricks :-(

Here is what I have learned so far.
The 16 GB tablet (AOSP 7.0) magically "fixed" itself. It will now connect to my home router (ATT, relatively "new" sometime in the last year or so).
To get the 8 GB tablet to connect I had to flash a CM 11 backup. It picked up the router right away.
Restoration of a (at-one-time-working) backup of CM 12.1 resulted in a tablet that would not connect to the router, as per my experience with the existing CM 12.1 installation that started all this.
A completely new install of CM 12.1 also would not connect to the router.
A completely new install of CM 13 connected to the router right away.
(alas, CM 13 is where the tablet starts to become flaky....)
A completely new install of LNOS 14.1 connected to the router right away. Presumably AOSP 7.0 would as well since it works on the 16 GB tablet.
So.....it looks right now like there is something in the CM 12.1 ROM that is not letting it play nice with the newest WPA etc. security settings.
Really odd that CM 11 still works.
