Only had this for a few days so far since the sale on Google play, everything is great with it however the size of the keyboard, text in the notifications area and GUI elements (I.e. chrome address bar) are massively huge and are almost twice the size of what I see on my nexus 7 2013, is this just the way it is or is there some setting I have yet to find or is this just the way it is?
I have set fonts to small but that had no effect.
Edit /system/build.prop look for the lcd dpi string and change from 400 to 320. 320 is the native dpi of the display
You can only do this if rooted.

not back to factory with the GPe unfortunately. you may [will?] lose the DRM keys stored on the TA partition
Cool, thanks for clueing me in. Seems to be a lot of trouble with the gpe version of this phone might just go with the xperia one instead.

Umm, good question now on 4.4... I think netflix still need them? Warranty maybe? Who knows what Sony are doing with them in Kitkat.

I don't know if you guys know, but if you change the screen DPI on AOSP ROM's to 240 the phone enter on tablet mode. As we got our ICS not so long ago, I thought: maybe this can work on our Xperia S, with a Sony customized ROM.
So, I would like to ask too anyone who has Root and ICS to change the DPI to 240, reboot and see what happens, and post a screenshot if possible.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is Tablet mode?
The phone acts as a tablet, same for apps. Status bar at bottom, virtual buttons, etc. Search for tablet mode on Galaxy Nexus Themes and apps section, and look there.

It doesn't really work. You need a few source level patches that are quite ugly for now to make it work.

Hey Guys,
I use LCD Resolution for my Galaxy SII and love it, but it doesn't work on my 300t for some reason. However, I found an app that does work:

Try it out, I love it.

It just makes everything smaller as if we had a larger resolution (I just hate the huge icons and text, want it to look more like a computer, not a freaking kid's toy)

Just in case anyone using this recently switched to CleanRom2.4 from tf700, looks like it doesn't work anymore. Workaround is to open the build.prop using es file explorer and editing the density value there.
Look for:
ro.sf.lcd_density=240
change to 240 to your preferred value.

hi, I'm using the new Cleanrom 2.5 inheritance for the TF700 and I looked for the line in build.prop but it does not exist. Can the line be created? If so, where do I put it?

Yes, you can create it. Just put it at the bottom of the build.prop.

Read my last message. It depends on which rom you are running. Im using GPe Rom which is 4.4.2 and it works geeat , even google now , speaking on any screen , it respond. You should try it out.
I don't think you know what im talking about on nexus 5 at the home screen if you swipe to the left you get the Google now which I like.. You don't have to drag from the home virtual button to go to google now
If you see the nexus 5 video you will know what I'm talking about

OMFG, people. Yes, OP. The Google Experience Launcher, yes the on the Nexus 5 uses, is wildly available to download on the internet, and there are NO reasons to port a whole ROM just for the launcher, LOL. That's like porting iOS to our device for the font. We don't have to do that.
I'm running the GPe ROM with GEL, and everything works as it should. Yes, Google Now (swipe to left) works just fine.
This thread should also be in the Q&A section.

The reason for my post is to be able to still keep the xreality features .
Since the actual GPE ultra is able to still have xreality on GPE
The way I understood is that once we unlock boot loader we are not going to be able to still have the xreality correct?
You can install a port of xreality, see the mod section.

Do you, or anyone, know if there is a way to make the icons on the GEL smaller, both on the home screens and in the app drawer? I changed the dpi in build.prop to 320 before even trying the launcher, and this is the only additional change I would like to make. I tried changing the dpi with Xposed, both the launcher and Google Search. I don't care about anything but icon size, as it's kind of jarring to leave an app in phablet or tablet mode, only to see massive icons. I'm running the GPe Rom port on a C6833.

So I maintain Slim for Honami, I have a build that could use some testing. Build is completely untested so there is always that possibility of bricking the device. But odds are worst case you will need fastboot to restore.

Edit: My eyes and fingers hurt at the small fonts and tiny keyboard LOL...
Issues with camera not working despite working with a clean install and TWRP recovery. The bug should be the same old can't connect camera bug...
Camera works after rebooting but still hangs after initial startup of app. Few quick presses on the soft button for the shutter gets it working. Third party seems fine with occasional quirks here and there that I don't know how to describe. The Sony logo pops up whenever I use the 3rd party camera apps before the app interface appears
OK thanks for being brave.
