[Q] VZN S4 KitKat broke audio notifications - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

My Verizon S4 updated about 2 weeks ago to KitKat and I thought all was good.
If I use my S4 with my Jabra Supreme BT headset it will connect fine and I hear the audio notifications no problem.
As soon as a shut off the headset the phone will not play email notifications sounds even though the notification bar shows an email is received; just no audio.
I have to reboot the phone and the audio notifications return. I use Touchdown for Exchange and even went to the stock Samsung Exchange client. I get the same issue. Defaulted phone and the problem still exists.
Anyone have this issue or seen it?

[Q] Factory Froyo alerts/bluetooth bug?

So I upgraded to 2.2 on Saturday via Kies Mini & I've found a problem & was wondering if anyone else has seen it too. Everything works great until I get in my car & my bluetooth connects. Bluetooth works great, but all of the audible alerts on the phone (texts, emails & even the phone ringer) stop & it's vibrate only. Even after I disconnect bluetooth from the car, the audible alerts don't come back.
I've turned silent on/off, changed ringtones (which you can't hear as you cycle through) and the only thing I've found that will bring the audible alerts back is to reboot the phone.
I'll probably root the phone & put on a new ROM this weekend, but until then, this will be a PITA. Anybody else seen it or know of a fix?

[q] any others with speaker problems on s2??

Hi,
I got the sim free samsung galaxy s2 on the first day it launched and i also received one in the post inspite of cancelling my contract as i decided to get it sim free.
I tested everything and it works fine except for the external speaker:
there is a major crackle on voice calls and when i listen to voice mails.
when i listen to music or ringtones its sounds fine.
So i decided to try it on both phones and problem exists on them both.
Any suggestions please???
I hear the crackle too
I hear a crackle with voice calls on the galaxy s2.
Does any else have this problem. Poor audio would stop me from buying this.
I havent got a crackle
Got mine replaced
I went and returned the phone-with-the-crackling-speaker to one that doesn't.

Weird bluetooth issue

I just purchased a bluetooth headset (LG HBS700) and now Im having a stuttering issue when notifications come in.
I never had this until i connected the headset. If the screen is on the notification is fine and plays normally, but when i have the phone in my pocket with the screen off it happens. I have tried switching notification tones as well as switching to a different ROM and the problem is still there.
Has anyone else had this happen to them or know of a way to fix it?
I had a similar issue with TuneIn radio. Listening over WiFi was fine while the screen was on, but the music stuttered when the screen shut off. Seems like it limits the amount of power received to that particular radio but not sure. I don't have my phone on me but are there any power saving features for Bluetooth that can be altered?
Thanks for the response. I think you misunderstood tho.
Its NOT the sound coming from the bluetooth device that is the problem, it is the notifications coming from the phone. ie when i get a txt msg or an email, when my phone is alerting me.

[Q] Phone, Pandora, and BT What a mess.

Just picked up the Note 2, synced it with the Mercedes blue-tooth and plugged the 3.5 into the phone. The other end goes straight into the sound system. Problem is that when I'm playing Pandora and get a call Pandora pauses when I answer just as it should. Only thing, the party I'm calling, or is calling me, can hear me but I can't hear them . This also happened with my S3 but was resolved when I rooted it, unlocked it, and added Kang Milestone rom and all was well. I don't know if device will react in the same way. Any ideas?

Alerts through bluetooth headset only

I came back to android from an iPhone but when using my LG Tone+ headset I get alerted through my phone speaker too. I don't care to let everyone hear my alerts. I can put my phone on vibrate but then I get no alert audio at all. I tried Soundabout but it does not work on the s4 by unchecking the notifications to speaker options.
Any suggestions?

I too am curious about this. On previous phones I would only get notifications via BT when connected & the phone would just vibrate. Thunderbolt, Note2, & S4 all still play on the speaker as well. Is it something in the BT stack or a new "feature" to annoy us?
