Omate Truesmart OUI 2.0 help - Ornate TrueSmart

I know there are a lot of True smart owners who don't like the OUI 2.0. launcher . But I do, question is there away to make the OUI 2.0 launcher my main home screen and my default screen.? I've noticed that once you click off this screen or turn off phone it reverts back to the android screen. Any comments or suggestions?

You need to set the OUI launcher to be the default one... normally you just clear the settings of the launcher app and it will give you the options again to choose which launcher when you press home... not sure how you do that with stock launcher perhaps clear the OUI settings or google around a bit, failing that re-installed OUI from OStore and hopefully you will get the option come back up to select the default launcher.

There is a neat little app in the Google Play Store called "Launcher Switcher" : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kr.mobilefirst.launcherswitcher&hl=en
I had the same problem you are having, this app enables you to easly change launchers and make them default if you like.

have to use a launcher that allows widgets such as windows launcher or nova launcher. do not believe the stock launcher has widget access. also make sure to apply loki's security patch.
The OUI2.1 that is supplied with the watch has widget support (to enable it, go to Settings -> device -> apps -> all, select Launcher and click "clear defaults". Next time you press the home button, select OUI launcher and "always use"). Personally I feel that OUI is a bit limited though, so I run Nova myself.
How can I get the OUI2.1?
Is there a download link somewhere?

It's installed on the Omate TrueSmart from factory (although not set as the default launcher, you have to do that yourself). Don't think I've seen any APK available for download anywhere though.
2.1 has nothing to do with the launcher. It has to do with adding predefined profiles such as Sport, Watch, Companion.
Sport = always on
Watch = airplane mode
Companion = on BT on
(this is based on observation of the firmware as given to me by Omate. These "modes" also appear to be missing from the 0328 firmware)
The launcher however is HERE. (in a manner of speaking). IMHO, the unaltered Vire Launcher is more capable.

Launcher swich module [idea/suggestion]

hi my idea for new module is for swiching launchers even if one is set as default when you long pres the home button the dialog for choosing launcher shows up. So if you have default laucher set and you tap the home button the phone opens it but if you longpres the home button phone asks wich one to open always\just once. Can this be done? if some one ends up makeing this or similar module I dont want any credit as i only give the idea.
oh and if it maters my device is sony xperia Z2 runing the latest 4.4.2 oficial firmware.
I don't see any use in such a module. Why would you need 2 different launchers?

[Q] CM12 change launcher

I'm currently on the latest nightly for cm12 (18th Feb) and I can't seem to find a setting to change the default launcher and I'm just stuck with trebuchet. On my nexus 5 there is a home setting under personalisation. Am I missing something or has this functionality not been implemented on the nexus 9 yet?

Hi, qwerty2626...
It shouldn't be too difficult to change the default launcher.... All you have to do is clear the default setting.
Go to SETTINGS>>APPS>>
** scroll horizontally to the ALL TAB
** scroll down to locate the TREBUCHET launcher
** tap on it to ENTER
** tap on the CLEAR DEFAULTS button
Press the HOME button, and you should be presented with a list of all your installed launchers.
Select the one you want to make the new default.
See attached screenshots, for an example of clearing Nova Launcher as the default launcher.
---
Or alternatively, install Default App Manager Lite, from Google PlayStore...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appiator.defaultappmanager
This app lists all of your app default settings, and provides an easy way of changing them.
Hope this helps.

Since when is Trebuncha(sp?) back? I litterly just left cm12 on the nexus 6 to try another rom and the only launcher that was installed on there before I put on nova as just the native launcher that motorola use. Its just called launcher.

Hi, the_rooter...
I have no idea if Trebuchet is back or not... I'm not running CM12... I was just giving some general guidance to the OP on how the default launcher can be changed. And since the OP mentioned Trebuchet, I just assumed it was still part of CM.

I dont think it is. Thats one of the main reasons I only test cm12 to see if they bring it back. Trebuchet has so many great features and now they use the launcher apk and its empty. Like we stated nothing that a custom launcher can do but still. Its sad to see that Trebuchet is not around.
Edit: Below is the article to state that it was in fact removed from cm12.

I've tried to do this and when I go into the app details there are no defaults on the launcher or at least None that can be cleared, even the app you posted can't do it either. I guess cyanogenmod did this on purpose for whatever reason so I guess I'll just have to wait and see if they implement a way to change it. As for trebuchet taking another look I don't think it is, just assumed it was after using cyanogenmod for so long!

Can't set any other launcher as default on EMUI 4.0 ANDROID 6.0.1 kiwi-L24.

Pretty much what happens is, I download it at the play store, and open the launcher. It works fine, but when I push the home button, it goes back to the stock launcher. Every time, I try to set a launcher as the default one, my screen just kind of jumps from the bottom up, and nothing happens. For the Google Now launcher, It gives me the prompt to either cancel, or go into settings. After selecting settings, it does the weird jump again. Kind of getting annoyed, since the stock Emui launcher doesn't have an app drawer. I tired it rooted, and unrooted. I do not have busybox installed, so I'm stumped. Is there hidden settings somewhere to change the default home launcher? I can't find it unlike the previous version. Maybe someone who has had the same problem as me, can shed some light into this problem. Thank you.
goto settings>apps
then click on 'advanced'.
there you can find default app settings,click on it and select launcher and set your desired launcher as default.
and dont forget to add that launcher in protected apps

Noval Launcher instead EMUI on Honor 10

Good morning, everyone,
I try to put the Nova launcher on my Honor 10 (COL-L29) but I can't find how to put it as the default launcher (instead of EMUI).
Anybody know where to do that? because it is apparently not possible to default it to EMUI.
Oreo and EMUI have changed too much, I'm a little lost since v7
Thanks for the help and sorry for my bad English.

Works on Honor Play too (unlike nova launcher's in-app instructions, which take you to the wrong page!)
Is there any way to stop the default EMUI home page from appearing every time I restart the phone?
I use Action Launcher and despite setting it as the default app my phone seems to like showing me the EMUI home screen every time my phone turns on!
