Just has the notification for OTA 20D kitkat firmware on my EE branded LG G2 happy days and about time. Downloading now. 486.91MB in size.
I've got it too but I'm not happy with it. No knock code and ordinary knock on was not working for me at all, only knock off works.

Yeah no knock code seems odd. to get knock on working you need to turn it off in gestures restart phone then turn it back on (may work) or update touch screen in the service menu by entering 3845#*802# on your phones dialer then going to settings then update touch firmware, screen will freeze for a few seconds then exit back to phone and it will be working.

Thanks for advice. Now I have flashed 20d open UK and I'm absolutely happy and I think I'll stick to this firmware.
Waiting for ee to release the firmware it's like waiting for Christmas

No problem. EE are useless at updates. The 20D UK Open is better as it has the knock code.

I'm on build ALE8 and I know there's been an update to fix done bugs out a while now.
I'm on 3 UK and am still waiting for the update here in UK.
Is anyone else on 3 our other networks still waiting?
Also for the people who have it, does it fix anything that's you've found?
Cheers
I am and got bored of waiting for the update so just flashed the latest firmware.
Home screen seems to load better and multitasking seems better, was getting the browser reloading the page on ALE8 but on LF2 it generally doesnt reload and carries on were you left off
3 are upgrading their transmitters down here in S.E Kent. Been without Internet for nearly a week. They might roll out the latest update after that. Was told the upgrade was to speed up Internet speeds.

I don't think a software update will be held back because of now transmitters going up in one part of the country though
As above, I also got tired of waiting and flashed an unbranded firmware. Highly recommended as you won't have to wait for 3 to pull their fingers out every time an update comes out!
Asked 3 UK in timing they said standard answer...its in testing won't be long...
But why are they behind everyone else on release. I have an S3 it's branded but all that has is a 3 startup and shutdown screen
Where can I get a unbranded firmware for it? Would like the 3 stuff done and the update.

Orange UK have not released it either, the networks will have to mess it up first by adding there bloatware.

a few questions:
would switching over to the unbranded firmware stop future OTA updates (if three ever get around to doing them)?
would it void the warranty?
i'm right in assuming we'd still be able to flash back to a branded firmware correct?
cheers.

I'd be interested to know what bloatware you have on your Orange Rom. I don;t have anything on mine apart from a custom boot screen. I may be wrong here, but I think with the situation as bad as it has been for carriers giving updates, that Samsung has decided to take charge and IT will add the Carriers boot screen for them and then IT will send out the update.
Fingers crossed. Of course you could just flash. I just checked over my Orange insurance and it mentions nothing about breaking warranty if I modify the firmware, only if what I do breaks the phone.

That might be carrier related, because I have an unlocked C6802 and am able to update over carrier-provided data just fine. I'm on T-Mobile in the states.

I have similar problem with it being greyed out. Have checked with my carrier Three UK, have looked at phones in their shop, shows same. They say it is Sony problem. Did live chat with Sony, as expected, as much use as a chocolate fire guard.

An even easier way for us to root! Very good.
Is there any downside after a successful root such as Verizon system updates not showing up automatically or anything like that?

You will get notified of an update, but will not be able to apply the update if you made any changes, like removing bloatware, xposed, etc. I have frozen the updater app so I dont have to worry about this. Lets be honest, we dont want the update from Verizon anyways as it will most likely remove root.
I would also like to know if rooting changes the system status from "official" to "modified".

What does this ultimately mean? Like you can't send it in if something happens to it? I bought mine off someone so I guess I just have the stock 1 year warranty still, but would have to go through LG if something happened.

There is a loophole in the Verizon system.
If you keep insurance on your line, even when you switch devices the insurance stays.
Adding insurance if you haven't had it on a device purchased elsewhere requires waiting for an open enrollment.
I have never let insurance lapse on any of my lines so that even devices purchased from a private party are covered.
I pay full retail or Swappa so I always keep insurance, actually the TEC (Total Equipment Coverage - extended warranty, insurace, etc..)

That being said, based on what I've seen with the LGG2, if you wipe the device with the factory restore tools, they will never know it was ever rooted. I haven't tested with the LG G3, but I've seen people post that if you do a factory restore, the device will show as unrooted

Not working on my LS990, either. RC says it's in roaming mode, but the phone remains connected to my Sprint tower.

It is still working on my phone. Is it making the phone switch to airplane mode when you click roam only? Mine doesn't always work switching back to home only, or automatic mode, but it does switch to roaming for me every time. You may have to switch between a few different settings before it starts working or something. I got mine working when i posted this, by messing with settings, and it has worked since.
are you on RC 2.11.1? and did you buy it on the play store when it used to be on there? I got it on the play store a couple years ago, so it installs 2 other "versions" for checking my play account or something, so maybe there is something different in the app?
In the Log File, does it have any errors? Mine just says the following 3 lines...
74:RC 2.11.1
126:19.0.0.1598.7
211:RC Complete
When i was trying to get mine working, i selected each phone choice and had it force roaming, then selected home only, then automatic.
I believe i even tried the "other" option before i finally got it to work on the GS5 option.
Maybe i confused it enough to decide to just play nice with me lol. Let me know if i can try anything else on mine to see how it works.
Edit: by the way, I'm still on the factory image, just stump rooted.
Yep, 2.11.1, and yes I did originally buy it on the Play Store.
When I tap on Roam it doesn't do anything. If I choose notification, it puts the notification in the status bar, but when I use the "View network status" option in RC it still shows me connected to a Sprint tower. My log file is the same, except for the numbers in the middle row.
I'll play around with it some more and see if anything changes.

lollipop is coming guys. :fingers-crossed:
Holy crud, went through this with the old LG Spectrum, at least we finally got custom ROMs for them.
Another reason for VZW to allow bootloader unlock, it would keep the masses happy and the masses would not have to wait for VZW to add all the bloatware to the ROMs.
With lollipop being more locked down and root exploit resistant we need the bootloader unlock more than ever now.
Oh, VZW Droid Turbo to receive lollipop in June.

My big questions are:
1. When (of course)?
2. Will it include VoLTE?
3. Will it include functional Visual Voicemail?
4. Will it fix auto-bluetooth functions?
I'm back to using a *@#% iPhone 6 for now...when connected to bluetooth in my 2015 Volvo the damned Z3v would call the wrong number. I'd pick someone from my "recent" call log and it would dial some random person in my address book instead about a third of the time. Not even someone I'd called in years. That's just totally unacceptable.
I really want my son's LG G2. Maybe I can trick him into a trade?
verizon blows... this device is tight, verizon is not.
