[Q] Cannot turn on smart pause - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

So I just got my S 5 about 4 days ago, still unrooted, I try to turn Smart pause on from the notification panel but it seems to be grayed out.
Smart stay is able to be turned on and off, doesn't work very much...but its on none the less.
I have looked through all my settings to see if I may have missed something, but I swear I've looked through it all.
Is anyone else having this problem? and has anyone figured out how to fix it?

Go to setting, then motion and gesture turn it on

Silly question

I know this is a daft question, but my S3 has all of a sudden started to talk to me, telling me who's calling, reading texts etc, how do I turn it off??

Settings > Accessibility > Talk Back turn it off
I've checked that it's turned off?

There are two possibilities:
1. If you have any other accessibility services enabled, please disable them. It's a known Android bug.
2. You have driving mode enabled. Check the toggles im the notification bar.

member68...got it...driving mode enabled....thank you very much:good:
This is weird mine started talking back yesterday, when I open a folder it describes my actions, when I unlock it beeps twice, but it won't read my txt messages or tell me who calls.
I've checked my phone it is not in driving mode and the accessibility services are disabled.
I really do not want to reset the phone! Any idea?
Thanks

No push notifications in sleep mode

Hi everybody.
I just bought a Samsung S3 but I have a problem..
Every time I put my phone in standby, after 5-10 minutes the phone stops getting push notifications (fb, whatsup). I need to turn it on and after that everything's fine..
I tried do update to android revolution hd 17.1 but I still get this problem..
I've already tried to set Wi-Fi to always off, checked all notification setting but to no avail..
Is there a way to receive internet messages without turning on the phone every 5 minutes?

Their is a refresh setting of almost every internet app, try to change those. And check whether Do Not Disturb option in the notification panel is not on.
Hit Thanks if this helped.
Disable smart alert in 'motion' and that should fix it
Especially if you have a broken/malfunctioning proximity sensor

Sorry but I can't find any refresh setting in phone settings or whatsapp options. Can you please tell me where can I find them?
Have you downloaded any deep sleep apps or Juice Defender/any other battery management app?

No I didn't.
I even did a hard reset 2 days ago. The only apps I have right now are whatapp and fb messanger
I just tried to uncheck "smart alert" but the problem persists.
Okay wait, when you say 'standby mode', you just mean you're locking it, right?
Assuming that the answer to my previous question is 'yes', tell me, when you turn your screen back on do you get a little notification on the bottom of the screen that says "You are now connected to (whatever your WiFi is called)" ?
He still doesn't receive texts I believe so this is not having the WiFi set to turn off at lock

My issue only occurs when in 3G. It seem the phone disconnects from 3g line when in deep sleep.
I've already tried to use different sims of different operators getting the same behaviour
If I connect my s3 to a wifi spot it always gets notifications instantly

[Q] How to turn the voice off when going into folders

I can't seem to figure out how to turn the voice off when pinching the home screen or going into folders. It's kinda annoying when the phone screams folder opened lol... I went into accessibility and the talk back is turned off. Is there somewhere else that it's turn on at?
Edit: I figured it out turned out to be light flow..

[Q] Notifications off at night

Anybody got a good app for turning notifications off at night but allow certain contracts to ring? Also looking to disable the LED light and sound etc
So far only app I have on my Z2 is Quiet Sleep which does the phone calls and sound.

Check out Nights Keeper. I've been using it for several months now on a few different HTC phones & love it. There isn't an option to disable the LED, unless via stamina mode perhaps, but otherwise it should be what you're looking for.

Edit: Sorry, you've already accomplished the same thing with Quiet Sleep that Nights Keeper does I think. I'll leave in case someone else could use it & stumbles onto this thread.
I'm using tasker for that. As soon as the phone is docked and in my Wifi I turn off all the sounds and the LED notification. Turn on all the sounds as soon as I undock the phone. Works just fine. You can also define either a single contact or all your favorite contacts to ring regardless of that setting. Same goes for received texts.

Another vote for nights keeper. I was working night shift where I had finished my work allocated I would go back home to bed. I'd set it up so only certain people could get through (ie the boss and office) whether that be bus sms or call.
It's got a handy feature whereby, if anyone calls more than a predetermined number of times (you choose) there call will get through after x amount of tries.

Screen stays on when answering with Bluetooth

Running stock rom, I have the latest version. When ever I answer a call with my Bluetooth headset the screen on the phone stays on. Is this intended or is it a software issue. How can I fix this

In the Settings menu, how do you have "Turn screen off during call" set?
.
I don't see that option.

Well it could still be any number of settings. You should flip through the settings menu and the bluetooth options and see if any options might be keeping the screen awake.. then try toggling those. e.g. smart stay, screen timeout duration, car mode.
Perhaps the most likely culprit is the proximity sensor under display settings. Try setting that to disabled and see if that helps. Or you can probably manually turn off the screen during a bluetooth call by tapping the home (or perhaps power) button.
.
.
I can't find any setting that would be causing this. On a non Bluetooth call when I bring the phone to my ear the screen turns off. When I answer through my gear 2 the screen turns off. It's only when I answer a call through my Bluetooth headset that this happens.

Yeah this is how it was designed on s5. Stupid, I know, Proxy sensor does not work either. Download on call proximity from the market. Note that only one feature at the time works. If you enable more than one, chances are in s5 that it won't work. So choose what's more important for you, bluetooth or speakerphone. This is the only way I can answer on my bluetooth while phone in pocket and avoid bunch of false keypresses and hangups. Idiots. My old Nokia and Sony Ericsson dumb phones had more logical bluetooth handling, than these smartphones, and it keeps getting worse with every generation.
