Have you tried following the steps in the second post here ?
Have tried putting tablet into flash mode but don't have any power whatsoever. No let's, no charge light. Is completely dead?
Ok, after no joy sorting tablet out, have rang sony support and the advice I received was to try everything I already tried. So was left with no option but to send tablet to sony repair centre... Will keep you posted on the outcome. Thanks to everyone who has given me advice
I've killed my SGP311 several times to the point where I couldn't get the slightest sign of life out of it. It's been a while so I forget the volume up/down/power combination when connecting to my PC to fix it with Emma. But I would sometimes spend 10-20 minutes trying to get any response before the PC recognized it. And some PCs just won't recognize it. I'm sure it must be possible to really mess it up but I had no idea what I was doing and flashed stuff in places where it had no business being flashed. It's like the movie scene where someone is doing CPR and they give up and then they punch the guy in the chest again and slap him and he wakes up. Don't give up.
Ok, we have a result. Tablet was sent to sony. I was worried how much it was gonna cost as warranty was void after unlocking bootloader. Turns out that the mother board had been fried. Sony offered me a replacement, but they didn't have the same sgp321 model in stock. I am now the proud owner of an xperia tablet z sgp321 lte. Don't know if I'm going to try n root it yet. Time will tell.......

It's really cool, the same thing happened to me. They replaced it within a week for no charge even though mine was out of warranty by 3 days! Usually I've had terrible experiences with Sony Service Centres in India but this was a very pleasant surprise!

Hey Guys,
I recently Bricked my Unlocked Samsung Vibrant phone while uploading a Custom ROM. The phone is now such that it wouldn't show anything on the screen.
The recovery mode was not available but the Download mode sure was. But to flash a Stock ROM through Odin it should go into the Download mode at least, but that ain't happening at all, because there is nothing showing up on the screen and neither is the keypad lighting up.
I have tried numerous methods of booting up but none of them work as Nothing Shows up on the screen. Also when I insert the battery inside the Phone Heats Up (Not the Battery) like it would while one was using it.
I figured out, from the forum, that the problem must be of a corrupted bootloader and that the USB will not detect anything as it has no support from the bootloader.
I stay in India and my phone is past the 30 Day Replacement phase. I gave this phone to the Samsung Service Centre in my country and they said that, No Support is available for Vibrant here and the only way to make this phone work is to install a new Galaxy S I9000 Motherboard instead of Vibrant's one for around 300$.
I can send my phone to the US, but the question I want to ask is,
1) Since my phone is Rooted and I tried to Flash a Custom ROM onto it, it is well out of the Warranty. Will Samsung Notice this and charge me out of the Warranty for repairing ?
2) What is the Charges that I will incur from Samsung for Unbricking my Rooted Phone and what will there procedure involve ?
3) A guy in my town has a Riff Box JTag and he says that he might be able to boot my phone for a mere 20$. I will be voiding my Warranty if I hand over the Phone to him. What are the skill levels required for Booting through Jtag apart from the very skill of Precise Soldering ? Should I hand over my phone to him for a cheaper alternative for Unbricking than sending it over to US getting charged by Samsung and paying for the phone to be shipped back ?
Thank You for any Help and Hope you provide.
Any Help is appreciated guys.

Samsung has a live tech support chat
you can ask your question directly http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SGH-T959ZKATMB?
On the other hand, you can score a second hand Vibrant for less than $300 here in the States, I am not sure about market in India.
they wont charge anything.
I've hard bricked my phone to where nothing would turn on. sent it in, and got a replacement (with the new GPS antenna LOL) and only had to pay for the expedited shipping.

if you were to see the contents I had on my internal SD, yeah....I'd be in debt. LOL.
custom kernels built by me, kangklick, JAC, Eugene
Roms built by TW, and Eugene, CM6 built by me...
They will most likely see that it wont turn on with a new battery, check the water damage sticker, and then take out the good parts, reuse, and dis-guard the rest.
Did you really tried getting into Download mode right?
take battery off, press vol + And - at the same time (do not touch power)
insert the battery.
if it does not come up, let the volume keys go and do it again.......

Hi guys, I bricked my phone...phone does not enter the download mode or th recovery. The phone will enter the batt screen (the one that comes on when you charge your phone when it is off) and turn off (looping). I had totally modded it and am getting my replacement. When I send in my phone:
1) will they figure out I rooted?
2) Charge me for the replacement that they sent in?
Thanks in advance...

From what I have read over the forums, if they send you a replacement and if they come to learn after that you have fiddled with the software, they charge you for the replacement too, i.e., the whole 600$ even when you have given them your old phone. So you just have to thank your stars, if they don't.
I would suggest you inquire in advance everything about the replacement procedure from Bell.

If I flash to an eclair (I told them it got screwed while updating to 2.2) through ODIN. will they know I rooted?? I ask this coz I heard if you flash with ODIN it supercedes everything (even the root and superuser).
Hi! It's kinda complicated story. But I will try to explain it to you. I bought my xtz 2-3 months ago, I was running android 4.1.2 until the new update 4.2 was released , and here comes the complicated part! My friend unlocked my bootloader, and he didn't root anything(I don't know why). I was running 4.1.2. And everything was fine! Then, after like 1 day using my new 4.2, my xtz had non-responsive screen ,and was a little bit laggy. So I thought that I should restart my xtz. When I turned it off . I wasn't able to boot it up again! I tried charging it(last time it was 96%) and even vol+ + power etc didn't work. But it didn't want to boot up. I connected it to pc and it didn't recognize my xtz. I tried on ubuntu, mac os x, windows. None of these helped me. So my tablet wont boot up. And pc doesn't recognize it. I don't know how my friend did update it. I'm really new to sony xperia devices. And he has like 2 years of knowledge. So my question is. Is Sony going to give me a new one, or fix my xtz even if it has unlocked bootloader? Mostly I'm using my xtz to watch youtube, use Internet, skype, and office things and sometimes play some racing games .
Edit: I have familiar problem to this guy http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2422824

How did you update to 4.2? The Sony developer site warns people not to update by OTA if you have unlocked the bootloader. See here : http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
Can't your experienced friend help you?
I don't think you've got any chance with Sony giving you a new one if it's caused by you unlocking the bootloader

How much is it going to cost, to get my xtz fixed? I'm going to take my xtz to sony in 2-3 days anyway. So we'll see what's the best solution. Thanks for help!
Try using Emma sonys own flashtool but power down your xtz first and then hold vol down while you connect the usb cable from the tab to the pc (Emma restores all default firmware and wipes everything)

Ok so if anyone can help it would be very much appreciated . I bought a Sony Xperia Z WiFi only tablet about 6 months back and only 1 month into having the device it stopped charging and now I can no longer turn it on. I don't know if its the system itself or the minibus port honestly. Ive tried several things but nothing seems to work . Details- Device suddenly shut down while there was plenty of power left . I unlocked bootloader and tried to flash custom rom but couldn't figure out a small part at the end right before restarting but was able to flash a stock rom straight from Sonys FlastTool . I need this device to run my Sonnos App cause I just bought the whole kitten kabudle and my Nokia Lumia 2520 runs Windows RT which unfortunately has yet to develop an app for Sonnos . Any help would be much appreciated!
You may still be able to charge it via the dock connector if you can get hold of one but it won't be as convenient as being able to use a micro USB charger. Personally I'd take it back as it isn't a year old yet and see what Sony say.

Sooo I recently got a Z Ultra. I decided to try putting it into water. To test out, no? Then the screen became darker and darker, now it won't turn on and it stays black. It still works if I plug using USB. What should I do now?
what about warranty ?!
Don't plug in the charger. Potential water + electricity is not a great combo. Open the right flap (the one where you insert your SIM and SD card) and check the color of the small square. Is it white or pink/red?

It's white. And on the box, it said "Water resistance". I'm not going to be fooled by bad advertisement. I'm sure that all the places I need to close are closed. The phone still vibrating. It just that I can't boot it up and the screen are black. Sometimes I hold Power and Volume Up then I hold Power, the Sony logo flickered.
Edit 1: Okay I managed to turn it on. Normally. So all the buttons were working normal, the touchscreen buttons such as Back and Home and that other button works because it vibrates when I touch it.

Yeah, you're on a very old firmware. Update to 4.4.2 (.757). The earlier firmwares had issues with some "SOD" (Sleep Of Death) which means that the display would stop working, but the phone would still be on. It was solved a long time ago, but you're still on an old firmware, so go ahead and update using Sony PC Companion.

I have no idea since i've never had any issues with SOD, but you're still on an ancient firmware, so update to the latest one or don't even expect to get help. I'm not going to try to help you when you can solve it (possibly) by updating to a newer firmware where this has been solved. If it's still not working after the update, THEN we can try to figure out what's going on.

Kay, I'm doing exactly what you said. I'll pray.
So yeah. It's still blackish. "Water resistance". And the water still somehow leak into the screen.
So water got in? What color is the water indicator?
- White = No contact with water
- Pink/Red = Contact with water
Your warranty is also dead if it's pink/red.

My water indicator is white. I brought it to my country Sony Center, They said the contact from screen to the machine is bad (?) They said that they must change the screen but they don't know if it'll work. I'm in a country that's different from where I bought the phone so I have to pay. A lot.
Will it be eligible if I send it back to where I bought it for warranty?

I'm living in Vietnam. I just talked to UK's Sony Customer Service and found out that my phone was built in italy and is eligible to go through repairs. I don't know if I have to pay for repairments or not but it should be free because it's the manufacturer's fault, not mine.

So Sony doesn't care about me nor my faulty device. They adviced me to just throw 200$ and fix it here rather than taking responsible and fixing my device from the UK. It's THEIR FAULT. WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY AGAIN WHEN I HAVE A FAULTY DEVICE?
Here's the talk between me and the agent. I'm really mad atm.

The agent did tell you the truth. You purchased your phone in the UK, so the warranty is valid in the UK, and not in Vietnam. They do not cover mailing it for free outside their area (which is logic), so you have to pay a regular fee to send it to the UK. By paying and sending it in a package through the regular mail, you should get some insurance too. I'm in Norway and whenever I send anything as a package (and pay), it's automatically insured for about $1000, so if it goes missing, they'll pay.
There's nothing unusual here. This is why you should think twice before you buy any electronics from a different country than yours, and you just had extremely bad luck this time around. Sony UK can't do anything because you're not located in the UK. It's not as straight forward as you like to think. You can either get it fixed in Vietnam or you can order the parts yourself and do it yourself. I would advice you to not do it yourself though.

Hi there,
I think my z3tc just died.
I flashed the z3c firmware (only system) via flashtools in order to gain root with giefroot.
The tablet started, but the root process failed, and I had to hard reset the tablet (vol-,vol+,on/off), after that the device would not start again.
I tried the yellow reset-knob (beside the sim slot) for 10 secs ... nothing
vol-,vol+,on/off for 10 secs ... nothing
plugged it to the original wall-charger with the original cable ... nothing, not even the led shows up.
Has anybody an idea, or is my device a case for the wastebin?
Thanks in advance!

You flashed the wrong firmware. You could be hard bricked. Basically if you can't get into flash mode and flash the proper firmware then your screwed.
For future reference quadruple check your firmware before you flash the ftf file.
If your rooting SGP621 then you should have flashed the D6603 .93 firmware because that's the one with the exploit.

No the xploit shouldn't work because the system is quite different. SPG621 is the LTE version and I think 611 is the Wi-Fi version. The 621 runs on cellphone hardware very similar to the Xperia Z3 where the 611 has no LTE connectivity. It wouldn't be wise to flash a D6603 firmware on it because the hardware it too different.

I just found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-...t-rooting-sgp611-giefroot-bootloader-t3017314
So I think it should also work on the WiFi Version (SPG611).

This is EXACTLY what happened to me. No LEDs going on - nothing. Device 3 weeks old from Amazon Germany. I sent it in for repair, got it back today with a notice that because I had the bootloader unlocked the warranty is void and they didn´t do anything with it. BUT: When I got it back it was alive again, I could get it into fastboot mode. So I called the technician to ask how they had reset the hardware. They said they hadn´t done anything. I remember having read about a guy who had the same problem, when he packed the tablet to send it in after a couple of days he noticed it would turn on again.
So here is what I think: If you flashed the wrong boot.img or whatever and the Z3c Tab goes completely dead (no charging, no LEDs, no nothing) just wait a couple of days. May be some capacitator has to run flat or I don´t know what but just wait.
Pleas let us know if this works for you, might help other people here and I sure wonder if just letting it sit there can help when everything seems to be f*** up
Thanks for sharing your experience. I also read the post from the guy, who wanted to return it and discovered that it turned back to life.
How many days did it take from returning it to amazon to receiving it back?
Did you connect it to the computer with vol-, and the blue led came back?
It has been three days now, but connecting it to the computer or to the wall-charger didn't change a thing.
Took about 3 days to get it back. May be we have to let the battery discharge?
When I got it back (volume down + USB plugin) was working again, when I sent it in didn't do a thing, no LED. Once you have it back to fastboot mode it's really a piece of cake.

Basically the trick here is to let the battery go dead OR disconnect the battery and reconnect it again but I suppose that would be a hastle.
Also, plugging again and again would charge the device especially if you are trying to discharge the battery fully.
If you are certain that all drivers are fully installed and it does not show any sign at all. I would suggest that hold down power + volume up/down depending on which mode you want to boot. The trick here is KEEP HOLDING POWER AND VOLUME KEY while at the same time plugging in the device to your PC. I am sure the LED would blink or something (I do not have the device but all Sony work this way)
I had a similar incident with a Sony Phone, just like your tablet symptoms but this trick worked for me.
Try that and report back to me, I would like to see what happens and if you need any help, do no hesitate to quote me back!
Good Luck and make sure you flash the RIGHT FTF this time

Basically the trick here is to let the battery go dead OR disconnect the battery and reconnect it again but I suppose that would be a hastle.
Also, plugging again and again would charge the device especially if you are trying to discharge the battery fully.
If you are certain that all drivers are fully installed and it does not show any sign at all. I would suggest that hold down power + volume up/down depending on which mode you want to boot. Thanks for the answer!
I just plugged the tablet into the usb-port of my laptop while holding VOL- and POWER, the led showed no signs, same as computer, also no signs. I will try again on Monday, the battery is surely dead until then. Hope dies last.
That guy must have been me Had the exact same story happening with a Galaxy Tab S. Looked like hard bricked, back to Media Markt with it, no, no, we won't lift a finger you evil tinkerer - and then it suddenly worked again. I had realized they must have done something. Because how would the see that my device's software had been tampered with if they didn't turn it on?!
Anyway, I tried that convoluted rooting method on my brand spanking new Z3Tc (is that the official abbrev.?) However, managed to get into flash mode somehow. It's embarassing for somebody like me but I'm on unrooted stock now... after about 20 Android devices, none of which wasn't rooted or an alternative ROM all the way
Good luck on reviving your tablet!

Led or any othehr signs are useless as long as the device is detected. Had it ?
Try power + volume up as well while flashtool running. It'd give you a better idea of detection. Even try power + both volume up and down.
Also plug in to Sony Official tool and see if that can help you repair it ? It might detect it as well.

When my Tab was dead none of the above worked, also "lsusb" in linux showed that it was not detected.
Concerning the question of what the technicians at MediaMarkt or support.com might have done: I know they used the "emma" software from the sony developer homepage to read out my z3c Tab. That apparently gave them the readout that the bootloader was unlocked. They sent me the screenshot together with the notice that they did not repair anything. So may be download "emma" for Windoze and hook it up to that... I use Linux with FlashTool which is supposed to be the same software (?). However, when my Tab was dead, FlashTool just said no device connected.
BTW: This is also the first (of many) Android devices that I now use UNROOTED. All others were rooted. It was also DEFINITELY the last-ever Sony device I ever bought. The hardware is nice, I need it waterproof because I use it on my motorbike. But this stupid rooting procedure is so screwed up that I will never ever buy Sony Android again!
I was really up and going for Sony, checking the internet on when the new z4 phone comes out, but my z3c tab user "experience" has now taught me better: Never again Sony!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for all the responses.
Using Windows 8.1 I tried:
USB-Plugging with all combinations of Power, Vol+, Vol- running
PC Companion
Emma
Flashtool
No Reaction at all.
Maybe the battery is still not empty.
Hope dies last.

I will look into rooting Z3 compact without pre-rooted firmware / flashing any zip via recovery. There are few methods and Lollipop is a bit hard to crack but we would find it out soon enough! I will put up a guide in few hours and you can see if it works for you!
I think the support for your tablet is lacking and a need for an actual developer to sort things out.
I am not sure about EMMA much but usually I know about JTAG is used to recover hard brick devices. Giving it to Sony is always better option with an impression that you left it charge over night and it wouldn't turn on again. Always works!
Don't worry. It wouldn't be the first tablet hopefully!
Forgot to mention in my previous posts: when I got my tablet back from service, the battery was almost empty (<2%). That gives some support to the notion that you have to drain the battery to unbrick.
Note to would-be buyers who need root: stay away from this tablet (and probably Sony in general). The rooting procedure described in several threads here will drive you mad. It´s catch-22 all the way. (... after step 28 do step 11 unless your device is not LTE then do step 31 and you´re screwed with bootloop or hardbrick...) What a pile of sh**t!
Just tried again to plug it in,
sadly neither the computer nor the tablet showed any reactions in emma or flashtool.
Will try again in a few days.
Hope still is not dead.

Nah you just need to read all the threads stick to the one you most understand and be cautious on every step
in my case i thought i needed root but after all the process and setting up my device it didnt feel right so I went back to stock the nice thing is that i have a backup of the TA partition just in case :victory:
I didn't touch the device for a week now.
But nothing has changed, still bricked. I will sell it as broken.
Hope has died. :crying:
