Swipeselection alternative for android?? GERMAN Keyboard!!! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
does someone knows an alternative to swipeselection for android and with german keyboard layout???
also for thisr how dont know, swipeselection is a cydia tweak for ios devives, it allows to move the cursor over swiping with one finger over the keyboard, if u swipe right the cursor goes right if left tgen left.
this tweak is good when you misstype and u dont want to tip the position where u want the cursor should be!!
ive loaded swipeselection from playsrore but i dont like it, and ive tried the app "tyype" but its also rubbish and in english, last but not least ive tried flat keyboard and its the best, but sadly it has no german layout
do you know any other swipe selection keyboards??

Swype
SwiftKey
Fleksy
TouchPal
Stock AOSP keyboard
All of those have swipe functionality and support German. I don't use German though, so can't say how well they work. My personal preference in English anyway is SwiftKey.

Ya
All the above work well
I use TouchPal though
Press thanks :good: if I've helped :highfive:

Port xperia z1s keyboard
Gesendet von meinem Xperia SP

Just found out about this awesome iOS Cydia tweak. This sounds amazing. Is there really no Android equivalent of this?

That is disappointing.

I found some:
SwipeSelection Keyboard
This one looked interesting at first, but then I discovered that its layout was poor for quick typing.
tyype
This one a little bit different, it has a bottom bar for swiping but to select text rather than moving the cursor. The bar can be used to prevent accidentally pressing the capacitive button for some devices, not so useful for me.
Quick Keyboard Việt also supports swipe selection, it's good
The popular "Multiling Keyboard" handles this a bit differently, it employs an anternative way which use vol buttons for moving back and forth. The plus is supporting all languages.

I made an account just so I could post this info for anybody interested. On my Galaxy S5, you can go into the settings for the default Samsung keyboard, and change the swipe settings from "Swiftkey Flow" (swype-style swiping) to "Cursor Control" which allows you to swipe across the keyboard to control the cursor like in the swipe selection tweak. As far as I can tell, the only functionality is to move the cursor, you can't select text like in the iOS tweak. It's not as smooth, but it at least allows you to still maintain all the functionality of the default keyboard while adding an ability to move the cursor.
This feature may only be available on the Galaxy S5, I'm not sure if it's available on the SwiftKey keyboard (which the samsung keyboard is based on).

This was helpful. Thanks. The original swipeselection is quit better than the iphone version.!

SwipeSelection Keyboard 20130919
2016-01-16 First release.
but also only eng locale(

Google keyboard. =+- analog for kursor moving. Also many mods). Copy/paste, selection...
Yandex keyboard. Kursor moving with big (opens by extra button) joistik.

[REQ][MOD] Gesture based selection mod for keyboard

I've just started to use a jailbreak tweak for the iPad based on this concept video and it works very well:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGQTaHGQ04Q
Here's the actual tweak in action:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6h2yrBK7MAY
I've used several different android keyboards but not come across this feature. If it already exists, please let me know.
My main Android keyboard is Touchpal and though I prefer Swiftkey's prediction engine, I always end up going back to Touchpal. Taping the cog icon in the centre of the top row replaces the keyboard with a dedicated selection pad/screen which allows for very granular selection but is a very slow method for selecting text.
A mod that could add the functionality in the video to the stock keyboard would be great. What would be awesome is if it also worked with all the main keyboards (Touchpal, Go Keyboard, Swiftkey, Swype etc.).
Thanks for looking.

[Q] Swype SGS3

Could someone please explain to me if Swype is coming out for the SGS3. I know Samsung has built in most of Swypes settings into the standard Samsung keyboard setting, but there are quite a few changes that are really not as good as using this keyboard on the SGS2. For example, a long hold of backspace would delete the last word - now it is a time oriented press. If you type a word then tap on it after typing to change it to one of the other suggested words, the suggested words no longer appear.
Any ideas?
http://jbthemes.com/djdarkknight/daswypethemes/
Download any of those.
The samsung keyboard on the SGS3 has an option to allow swipe!
It has swype built in.
I know it is inbuilt but the inbuilt is nowhere near as good as the Swype that was on my SGS2, hence the questions.
Will try a theme, thanks!
Thank you for the link, but all of those don't seem to display properly on the SGS3 - they seem to only take up half the allocated space for a keyboard? Any alternatives?
Try to find swype for Galaxy Note. I am not allowed to post here but it shouldn't be a problem.
Yes the inbuild its not even close to swype.

What's Your Favorite Android Keyboad & Why??

Hey there guys, I have been on the hunt for the Best Android Keyboad, and I wanted to see what everyone here was using?? I have tried stock, predictive, and the slide type, (I have not had the chance to play with any of the other 3rd party keyboards, with all sorts of different technology's.
So, I was wondering if some of you fellow xda-ers wanted to weight in on this, and help guide me on my adventure??
Thanks in advance :cool

swype for normal language but my most preferred is hackers keyboard. latter has a full keyboard like on pc when in landscape mode. pretty awesome on big screens like galaxy note. also almost every keyboard has the stupid white text entry over the entire remaining screen where there is not the keyboard, which hides my chat windows away and makes landscape a pain. hackers keyboard does not do such. you have keyboard and chatlog.
I like Android 4.2's stock keyboard. It has everything you need. Predictive text, spell-checking, gesture typing, multiple finger gesture typing. I use English Azerty, and it is just great for me!
Swype, until I get 4.2

Swype, although the 4.2 keyboard's implementation of this looks nice. I also like Hacker's Keyboard on my tablet which is just a PC looking keyboard layout. If they could implement a Swype functionality with it then it would be my favorite.
Swiftkey 3 is my Favourite.
Simply because
1)It is more intuitive than the rest, thus producing more CORRECT Auto Correction
2)It learns your way of typing and in real time monitors all that you type and maintains your individual statistics
3)It individually Learns from your fb,sms, email and twitter threads.
4)It also provides a good number of visual customization options
Thus overall it proves to be the best package

Thanx guys for the input, and all the great info I find ShayonX, IMO, as to swiftkey 3, and as far as "prediction boards", go I think there is no better. I was actually going to go with swiftkey 3, but I just found it was lacking on skins, and customization. I like to be able 2 change the size, and width of my characters, (due to wide fingers), and skins are a great Addition
I tried Swift key 3, touchpal keyboard, go keyboard, and perfect keyboard, and ended up going with "perfect keyboard, bcuz the customization is very deatailed. I also tried swype style keyboard, but I found predictive to be the style for me.
I am running the Moto Phonton, so I won't be getting the 4.0 or 4.2 update, so is there anything else out there to look @??

Keyboard preference

Normally on my devices I use Swiftkey/Swiftkey Tablet for my devices (Galaxy Nexus and ASUS Infinity). But on the N10 I prefer the new Google keyboard with its swiping. I wish it had the better predictions of Swiftkey though... I bet Swiftkey Flow will be the best if both (also I think the Google keyboard is better proportioned for the N10.
What is everyone using?

Thumb Keyboard 4, in 10" tablet mode with some custom tweaks is my favorite by far. In 10" mode it is a split keyboard in both portrait and landscape, with a number pad and commonly used characters/punctuation in the middle (as well as long-press numbers).
Swiftkey Tablet is ok but a bit ugly IMO and lacks the customization features I've grown to love in Thumb KB. I don't use prediction that often so there goes a big benefit of using Swiftkey in the first place.
And I've never ever liked and never ever will like gesture keyboards, so the stock KB was turned off almost as soon as the device booted.
Swiftkey 3 Tablet is the best in my opinion.
Can't use a regular keyboard on an N10 due to the size of the screen and with SK3 it's easy to type with my thumbs in landscape mode.
You have the ability to switch to regular qwerty format if you wanted to.
Thumb Keyboard! The prediction / auto correction is flawless.
The customization is really nice...lots of theme / sound / haptic feedback combos to choose from.

How do you move the numbers on top? I can't seem to find that in the settings...

Under the Keyboard's Advanced Settings, you'll want to create a Custom input style (I use English (US) with PC Layout). Save it, and then set it as the default input language (may have to deselect "Use system language", then select the PC layout input, and then deselect any other Active Input Methods)
Main: SwiftKey
Secondary: Swype
Fun sometimes: FloatnSplit

I am a thumb keyboard fan. Very customizable. Swiftkey predictions were way off base whacky for me and size of keys was not customizable enough for my small hands. You can customize height, but not width, so using split keyboard in landscape mode didn't work well for me. Couldn't reach many of the keys easily. Thumb keyboard lets me customize both aspects, among many other things.

[IDEA] invisible keyboard

I hope this is the right section of the forum
I am an owner of nexus 5, which I love, just as I love Android ... but there is a thing that I never could stand, keyboard ... the size of the keyboard + the navbar occupies more than half of the screen ... it's ridiculous ..
so I thought .. why not develop an invisible keyboard, it must be a swipe keyboard like "swipe" or "SwiftKey flow" or the stock Android...
you can write even without seeing the keys ... I tried to write without looking at the keyboard and it works. .. or at most you could set up a 'opacity adjustable ... maybe through a Swype on the navbar when the keyboard is active ...
In any case, I'm not a developer, so mine is just an idea
What do you think?
imagine a see trough keyboard or a totally invisible one with only 4 pie buttons for critical ops (symbols, numbers etc)
Am i fool?
(i know there are little keyboards like flesky but write with them is not easy (and cool) as swype ones)
pps: i'm italian so sorry for my italoenglish
I'd use it, or at least try. Ha

I fully support the idea. Will buy it if available in playstore. Fleskey don't support the swipe functionality
