1.Switch off your mini
2.remove battery and wait for 5 seconds before you reinsert it
3.keep holding upper volume button and connect usb cable (make sure its already connected to PC)
4.if there's blue notification light, then its fastboot mode.
5.Also you need fastboot driver installed from sdk on your PC
May be, if you are familiar with all above steps, i guess something wrong on PC. check with removing & reinstalling fastboot driver from sony's site

You say you had unlocked bootloader before flashing ST15i)_4.0.2.A.0.42_CE ftf
And then you upgrade to .587 via pc companion ?
Because AFAIK when I tried updating same on my friends phone with unlocked bootloader. Pc companion denied to update because of software modification.
And if you were successfully updated then most probably your bootloader is relocked. So you may wanna check that!
Also try for hard reset if possible!

Thanks for responses, frankly I don't know what happend to it, it came to me already broken, trying to flash but it won't enter it in msc mode (@ puppet13th: yes, I was reffering to mtp), and I don't know how to switch to msc because it doesn't boot. Thanks a lot for your help
Is there a way to switch it to msc with adb push or something? Anyone can help me?

Enter flashmode for flashtool
Hey....i don't think you need to switch it to MSC mode for flashing.... did you try to enter flashmode by holding "Volume down" button while inserting the USB cable into the phone ? Are you trying to flash it via Flashtool ( it is the easiest way ) ?

Yes, I tried to flash it with flashtool, but it won't recognize the phone, holding volume down while inserting usb, and the mini led light up orange, so... what else can I do? .. thanks
Did You switch the phone off before that?
Procedure is:
1) Switch off the phone (remove battery if needed)
2) Press "volume down" and hold
3) Put he USB cable in.
Do You see driver installation dialog running in windows? wait until it finishes.
4) Start the flashtool
5) Flash the ROM.
Yes, I did exactly the same, but it doesn't install the drivers

Then You need to install either Sony PC companion or form the Sony develeoper site the proper drivers.
Sony PC Companion You find here
Pc companion will install all the SE xperia drivers You need.

You have drivers in Flashtool folder under : \flashtool\drivers install them , and accept all of the installation requests by Windows . Or install official drivers from Sony or from Google's SDK source .
:Flash a new kernel via FASTBOOT and install a rom or reflash the firmware with wotan client that worked for me

I did it like this: connect phone in fastboot mode, then i installed the drivers manually when this is not working plug out your phone install PDA net on your computer, connect your phone in fast boot mode and the program will install the drivers
Sorry for my bad english
when you plug in your usb while holding volume down key the led should be green not orange.
green led means the phone is in flashmode.

hi this not help ,any idea?
This may help you 90%... just try it
I also have bricked up my Xperia Neo V
I tried many tools but no one helped.....
Finally I got back my bricked phone back by doing following things....
download all the needed things you need to update phone with wotan X tool unlock, you will need
1. X_Unlock_Tool_Setup_Wotan
2. WotanClient
3. USBFlashDriver
you can get all these from wotan website.
also create an account on wotan website. NO NEED TO BUY ANY CREDITS
install all above mentioned tools.
then run X UNLOCK TOOL
then follow on screen instructions untill you get an error that you don't have sufficient credits.
NOTE THAT NOW YOUR PHONE HAS GOT A SIM LOCK CERTIFICATE FROM THIS TOOL. BUT THE POSITIVE ASPECT IS THAT YOU CAN NOW FLASH ANY ftf FILE USING FLASH TOOL. SIM LOCK WILL BE REMOVED AFTER THE WHOLE PROCESS.
now flash the desired firmware on your phone.
power up your phone
if it power ups successfully, then your phone will not detect your SIM card.
finally use S1 tool to remove SIM LOCK CERTIFICATE.
CLICK THANKS IF IT WORKS
BEST OF LUCK

Do i have to change the file name of the kernels to boot.img to make it run in fast boot?
I unlocked my bootloader and was using Doom kernel + a stock rom(2.3.3). everything was working fine.
then i tried locking my bootloader using s1tool.
what i did was attached my phone to S1TOOL and hit RESTORE and the bootloader got locked again.
now when i turn on my phone it gives a vibration and wont start.(no kernel logo, no sony ericson logo, just black screen)
then i tried unlocking bootloader using flash-tool but it wont detect my xperia x10, it simply says device connected but doesn't recognize xperia x10.
when i try flashing any kernel or rom it gets stuck at reading device information.. doesnot detect xperia x10(as depicted in screenshot attachment).
Any solutions u guys can offer?????????????????????????????????????????

problem was that x10 drivers were missing which detects the phone in flashtool.
what i did was installed sony ericsson Pc Companion and detected my phone there. it also installed the required drivers of my x10. after this i tried flashtool and it worked detecting x10.:fingers-crossed:

Download firmware from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28301709, flash using flashtool. Check NO FINAL VERIFICATION before flash. If you can't get into flash mode(unplug cable, turn off, plug cable while holding back button) do following
1. Unplug cable, turn off phone
2. Remove battery
3. Connect cable to pc and phone
4. While holding back button insert battery
Good luck

Hello,
I rooted my mobile way back in b.1.10. Yesterday I flashed indian firmware of b.1.54 & somehow my mobile had no root permissions any more. But the bootloader is still unlocked as I've checked. I want root permissions & I've found out that rooting is only possible if I downgraded to b.1.10 firmware.
Now am unable to install flashmode drivers. It did not ask me for these drivers yesterday when I flashed b.1.54.
How do I install them? Whenever i prepare flashtool for b.1.10.ftf to flash & switch off, connect my mobile in flashmode, it stays in flashmode for 3 seconds & skips into regular mode & there's an error message in flashtool.
How to install flashmode drivers?
Please help
Thanks

When I connect the phone to the PC the Flashtool log says that the Debugging mode is off while, but IT'S ACTIVATED AT DEVELOPER OPTIONS.

PS: Flashtool drivers installed, Android ADB drivers installed
Sony PC Companion installed.

In order to flash the kernels u need not have to enable usb debugging
So here what u should do
Switch off phone
Keep it aside
Select kernel.ftf to flash in flashtool
Flashtool will ask u to connect phone in flashmode
Just press the volume down button (phone should b pff) of ur phone pressed and attach to usb
Try to restart Flashtool with your device already plugged in with USB Debugging on.
Sometimes happen with me. I just restart Flashtool and it detects it.

good evening, i need some helps about the flastool using usb debug....
last night i intended to flash my a690 using another firmware that is s319. my reason was about to upgrade it to ics.
then i follow the instructions for flashing a690 using flashtool. it was succeed, i turn on the phone.... so the problem appeared, my phone can't login, even bootloop just in blank screen.
then i decided to back it firmware to stock rooom using flastool again.....and this information of error appeared.
i tried almost 3 hours by using another firmware but it wasn't succeed. i thought the error appeared because of the usb debug didn't click it.
so if there is anyone knew about this issued, please help me what should i do??
the first mistake that i had made so far was using another firmware fo my lenovo.

Hi all, if anyone is having trouble flashing with flash tool because usb debugging isn't enabled error then do this procedure.......
1. Dowload latest flash tool 0.9.18.8 and also version 0.6.6
2. Try use the latest version first to Flash the tft rom. NOTE: remember the file it has error flashing e.g on my experia sp file system.sin was not able to Flash bcoz usb debugging error (enable usb debugging and unknown sources) ALL THE REST of the files flashed ok!
3.try flash again the rom but this time tick system.sin (or error file) in flashtool to exclude it from flashing. Make sure all other files are included. Also tick all wipe caches options and flash rom without system.sin (or error file).
4. Flash procedure will work. Now disconnect phone and leave it off without restarting it.
5. Uninstall flashtool latest version 0.9.18.8 and install flashtool 0.6.6 old version and open it to Flash the same rom BUT THIS TIME only select the system.sin file (or error file) to be flashed and rest excluded. Make sure all wipe options in flashtool are enabled and Flash! THE FLASH WILL WORK WITHOUT USB DEBUGGING ERROR and your phone will be fixed!
Press thanks if it helped!

You should download and install the latest version of Flashtool and it's drivers, connect your phone in Flashmode and then relock the bootloader.
Alternatively, you could just flash a stock FTF in Flashtool and fix whatever is wrong with your phone.
