I just jumped ship to the M8. I'm not getting a touch sound when selecting screen. Like when I press the app drawer button it doesn't make any sound or when I touch the on screen navigation buttons it doesn't make sound.
I do have all the sound boxes ticked.
Thanks in advanced for your help.
First, make sure your volumes are up. The "touch sound" is pretty quiet and subtle so if your volume is low you may not hear it. If that isn't the case, turn the option off, reboot the phone, turn it back on, reboot the phone. See if that helps.

I tried and I do hear a soft sounds and volumes are all the way up. Is your sound really soft? I would expect to hear touch sounds more easily like on past HTC phones and other brands for that matter.
Thanks

the ui sound is reallu quiet ,i couldnt stand it either coming from samsung so this is what i did to change it in case you dont know how
1.get the sound file you want for the new sound whether it be the samsung s5 plop sound or any other mp3 file and convert it to .ogg file
you can do it on line there are plenty of converters just look up mp3 to ogg conversion
2.place the file on your phone,
3.download a file explorer application i prefer root explorer or you can use es file explorer as well
4. open the file explorer go to where you put the audio file,i prefer downloads on the phone that way its easy to find
5.copy the file ,go to system>media>audio>ui,there should be a file called Effect_Tick.ogg
6.make sure you mount read write, press paste, now hard press on Effect_Tick.ogg and change the name to .old or whatever you want its just the sound file backup.if you need it in the future .
7.now look up the file you just pasted there and change the name to Effect_Tick.ogg then hard press and change permissions to on read check all boxes all the way down,on write check owner box and the rest blank, now reboot and you will have a new ui sound.it may take a while for the sound to come out the first time .if you need a ui sound file .ogg let me know and ill put one up on drop box hope this helps

When I press the volume buttons it plays a "beep" indicating every volume level.
In "resurrection remix" (what i have) there is no way to get rid of this beep, nor have I seen such an option when I had CM7, CM9 and some kind of GB. This is common to all roms, I believe.
A few searches for Apps to handle this issue came up short. I don't want to switch ROMs just for that.
Ideas?
Thanks in advance

Happened to me too,but it's not that annoying.
c'mon man, you can't say it's not a little annoying.
Just turn down the volume and you won't hear it
How is it annoying? It doesn't last that long and its only purpose is so you know how loud ringtones/notifications will be.

If you have root just goto /system/media/audio/ui and delete the sound file with root explorer.
Can't remember what the file name is called but it starts with TW_* if you play the file and listen you will know which one it is.
Make a backup if your paranoid.
I do that on every Rom I use and it causes me no problems.

I have root. there's no such file where you indicated.. Or anywhere near can you check the file name?

Hmm just had a look through an old cm9 zip and couldn't find any audio files for it either. The file I meant was for Samsung roms.
Maybe cm9 has them built in or in another location.
Can't do much at the moment as I am at work, but will have a better look when i get home later.

Just had a quick look and it might be part of cmparts. So might not be possible without recompiling cm9
Might be wrong here but I only had a quick look.

TW_Volume_Control
/system/media/audio/ui is the right path. the sound is calles TW_Volume_Control or something like that. you have too use a root-enabled filebrowser like root browser(avialable for free in the market). then just delete this file and you will hear no sound of your volume buttons any more
i know in settings you can turn on a 'click' sound when the phone screen sleeps or locks or unlocks, but its a click camera-type sound. is there a way i can change the sound it makes? maybe someone knows the path to the sound file i can just copy another file over it, rename it the same? perhaps that would work?
or any way to do it.
thanks
Now that we have root has gained has anyone changed their boot animation yet? Just curious because I know with the s3 there were files that needed to be added to make it work so I was putting it out there to see if anyone has had success yet. Thanks in advance
No new animation but I did go to system/media/audio/ui and replaced the PowerOn and Power .ogg files with camera_empty.ogg which is silent. Did the same with all the camera sounds too. Just couldn't find the focus sound.

...Auto_focus appears to be in system/media/audio/ui ..
Yeah I changed auto focus and any other files that sounded like they had anything to do with the camera. I listened to all the files in that directory and non of them quite sound like the beep when you hold down the shutter button for focus so maybe it's in another directory or baked into the app itself. It's just funny that I was able to change everything else.

May be the shutter_ogg. I don't know. But I've deleted all sounds associated with the camera as well (may be against the law in your state so be careful) and I don't hear any sound.
Could possibly be that you've modified. I've completely deleted. Maybe there's the difference. Try moving the files over to your SD card, you'd always be able to put them back if that didn't solve your problem.

Hi
how can I change the standard clcks response sound when clicking on a button?
I want to replace it by something else? Thank you for advices.
Replace the concerned file in
System/media/audio/ui
Ps - u need to b rooted
After replacing make sure to change permissions to rw-r-r
Found it, effect_tick.ogg. Thank U bro.
Yet I need to increase the click volume. Installed Profile Scheduler+ recently and it decreased the click volume. Moving any of the 3 sliders in system audio settings doesnot change it any way ;(
I decided to switch out LG's lock and unlock sounds to the sounds from MGS V's iDroid. The only problem was that I only had the sounds in .mp3, so I converted them to .ogg and replaced the files within the folder which had the lock and unlock sounds.
It's all gone according to plan and the sounds work, but I've noticed it only plays at about 50% volume, regardless of the system volume I select (5%-100%). Any idea as to how I can fix this?
Thanks in advance!
