[Q] How do I download my wallpaper (PLEASE HELP) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
I have a great picture I took and I set it as my wallpaper about a year ago. I accidentally deleted it from my gallery and now the only place I have the picture is on my background walllpaper. Can somebody please tell me how to export this picture because I want to factory reset my phone but do not want to lose this picture.
Thank you very much for reading,
Rambo
UPDATE: I used a app called wallpaper saver available for free on the Google store. It saved my wallpaper.

Try screen shot lol move all icons and apps off your main home screen and screen shot it, and take the picture and edit it. and also if your phone is backed up through your google account most of the time if you do a factory reset your settings will be restored once you log in to your account and that includes your wallpaper.

You have to place a right sized picture for wallpaper so your phone manage to show it all.
I haven't tried to chance my wallpapers yet, bought the Atrix 3 days ago, just star using it today, so I have no more clues for you right now. But I'll post something as soon as I find out if no one else write it down.
Agreed I think you have to be using a wallpaper that is sized to fit the screen, or you will have to crop it. Can I say off topic that Wallr is an awesome app for wallpapers. You just put them all in a folder and tell Wallr how often to change it. (it auto-crops)
I think this is what you want.

[Q]Take photo without opening camera app?

We all had these moments when we just had the opportunity to take the perfect picture, but the camera app slowed us down and we missed it.
Thats why i came up with an idea which will allow you to take photos from your homescreen / anywhere with help of one of the hardware buttons without opening the camera app first.
This is where you guys come in. How do i go on from here and is this something you can achieve with the app tasker?
Would appreciate if you could give your thoughts or put me in the right direction if anything like this already exist!
Im using the galaxy s2 if that would make any difference
Managed to do something almost as good as i want it, its a tasker widget which open the camera and takes a picture.
Its a bit glitchy since it wont take a pic 2 of 5 times and it back out to fast if i add an option to either go home or kill the camera app.
I can post the tasker profile if anyone would like to take a look at it and help me out.
Take pics without opening the camera with tasker + instant upload & auto delete pics
I know this threads pretty old but it doesnt seem to have been fully answered and i wanted this function so... After lookin around i found this post but it didnt do what i wanted, tasker has been updated a lot since this was originally posted so...
A little more googling was done and a while later i came across a way of taking photos without waiting for the camera app to load up...
Create a widget to take a photo instantly without opening the camera by long pressing your home screen for the add dialog, selecting widgets and add a tasker, task widget.
Create a new task and name it
Add a new action - media, take photo
Set parameters - choose camera to use, specify filename, set naming sequence to series/chronological, check discreet for no sounds
*(uncheck 'show in gallery' if using the method described lower down to upload and delete photos with dropsync)
OK this and choose an icon. Then add the widget.
Click widget to take a photo.
A folder named tasker will have been created in /DCIM with the photo in.
I added this as well to save me from filling my phone with photos.
I'm assuming that you have Dropbox already for this...
Download and install DROPSYNC from the play store.
During the setup you will be prompted to link folders -
Link your /DCIM/CAMERA folder on the phone to the Camera Uploads folder of Dropbox
You will be asked what kind of sync you want - set this to upload and delete.
Turn on instant upload and set parameters as desired.
Now your phone will auto upload your camera's pictures straight to Dropbox and then delete the original on the device immediately. Make sure dropsync is not checked in any task killer you have as instant upload may not work.
You can change the dropsync linked folder (or add another if you have pro) to /DCIM/tasker to have your instant snaps instantly uploaded and deleted from handset.
NOTE:
I dont think this requires root access

[Q] Creating your own wallpaper

Hi, so I've recently been spending a fair amount of time in photoshop creating my own wallpapers however whenever I transfer them across to my Galaxy S II and try and set them (through wallpaper > gallery) I always get that cropping box which crops out almost all of the wallpaper I made. How do I set a wallpaper without it being cropped like that, or if it's going to be cropped how do I solve the problem so I don't get 20% of the wallpaper I made, I tried a few thing like increasing the canvas side whilst leaving the image at the same res but it hasn't worked. Help would be great.
Thanks.

[Q] Help! Lost photo!

Hi there, i installed an app Go theme, but didint like it so i uninstalled it
and the stupid app somehow deleted my wallpaper, i had the photo
on home & lock screen and on contact, on my lock screen and on contact
the photo appears, but on wallpaper it doesnt, and i cant find the photo,
is there anyway i can find it ? its a very precious photo to me!!!
Thank you.
Is no one able to advise with this, post been here a fortnight with no replies?
I believe that the wallpaper is saved in this location - /data/data/com.android.settings/files/wallpaper but requires root to access.
You could also perhaps try this Wallpaper Saver (tried to post linky but I'm still to much of a noob) from the play store. I have had a similar problem, I set a picture as my wallpaper background that I had taken and was saved on a now gone tits up memory card, the wallpaper is still there but I don't have the original image. The wallpaper saver app pulled it back for me but it's worth pointing out that it DOES NOT pull back the original image but a slightly reduced 1280x1280 .png version but at least I still get the picture back I suppose.
Would love to know if there is a way to pull it back without the need for root?
DISK DIGGER, an app from playstore helped me recover many lost images even the ancient times'

Lockscreen Image Change S7 +

Hi all my First Post as new member, (I think I was a member a long time ago, but no email search works)
I have 3 Android devices, my trusty old Galaxy S5, TCL 4K UHD TV and now new TAB7+5G.
Anyway I am trying to change my Lockscreen Image from original but can't seem to find a way and I did search before this thread, I have changed Homescreen Image OK, but not Lockscreen.
Appreciate any help,
Thanks
Ash
There is a service that will change the lockscreen image daily. Go to settings - wallpaper - wallpaper service - enable.
It would have been nice for samsung to enable the service to work for home screen wallpaper too.
Go to wallpapers and when you pick on it asks you which to use for.... home or lock screen.

Hi thanks for that But the Lockscreen Settings are either None (what came with Tab) or Dynamic which gives you options of about 4 category titles and then others within each title, BUT you must have WiFi on and they must update every 2 weeks to change LS cycle.
I don't want this at all I just want to set my own Lockscreen to my image as I can do with the Homescreen (use my image).
Guess we have different tabs.
Edit: Not sure why can't upload a screen shot.
When I go to "Wallpaper" in settings I see my current home an loclscreen images at the top, below that I ..
My Wallpapers
Gallery
Wallpaper Services
Apply Dark Mode
If I pick either My Walpapers, or Gallery and then pick an image I get a meny that asks me where I want to apply it.

Well finally got it,
Because I First added a particular single Jpeg Image from my Mega Cloud it saved in Gallery to a folder called Pictures first when I bought Tab new.
I also use a Recovery App for images off Twitter, etc....some I save and "restore image' from same app.
The image goes in Gallery in 'Restored 'folder.
Even though Gallery has 4 options in bottom of screen the Picture option Only has my Restored Images and not THE Picture I want as Home and Lockscreen.
As I said Yes I can use My jpeg as Homescreen Only as it gave me no other options, BUT when I copied this same Jpeg over to Restored Folder and opened up image there were the options to add to Hone and Lockscreen...so it worked.
Anyway all good, just the usual learning BS with Sammy and their control with OEM.
I am going from Android 6 to 10 in one hit, still learning.
Thanks.
