It could be, but since it just came out, there is only 1 review, and it's pretty pricey considering there are free ways right here on XDA for most of those devices, if not all, I'm not really seeing a benefit of it.

Why Root?

I looked for a thread that explain me the reason for rooting
the Phone but I haven't found it.
Can you explain me?
Is it as the Iphone Jailbreak?
What is not allowed in not rooted phone?
Thank you in advance

[Xperia U] Can We Root Xperia U ANYWAY?

Hey Guys...
I used to have x8i, x10i, Neo, and now I'm gonna buy an Xperia U.
But I can't figure out something, since there is a little progress on this device in XDA.
The simple question is this: If I buy this little honey, Can I root it ANYway?
I mean either with locked BL or unlocked BL.
And, Is latest version, .184, rootable?
Actually, I want to know whether it is possible to root this device or not, and if yes, WHICH VERSION...
It would be greatly appreciated if you provide me the link..
Thanks in Advance...

Hey...
I want to know if there is anyway to unlock sim, or if someone is working on. If can unlock sim, BT will be unlockable, right?
Thenks.
Unlocking the SIM card and Unlocking the bootloader are totally independent and different.
Unlocking the SIM is not a way or a "cause" for unlocking bootloader.
Bootloader unlocking is a different story, especially in the case that it's official. through Sony Mobile website...
I have blocked BT. I can use sony mobile method...
Anyone Home?!!!!
Any Answer?!!!!
There is a WIP exploit. Needs a few final tests, but we're getting there.

first, tnx for your and ohter devs' hardwork.
then, there rises a question, how much chance do we have to get this little phone rooted? and then, who is the main dev for this? how much time do you estimate we need to get it done?

It is working, but I'm not yet sure if it's failsafe. Many things are the same as the XPS exploit and some work was done by Pokoby but I can't find his thread now. Basically it's a community effort.

It should not cause any damage, but something in there is not working every time, so you sometimes need multiple tries to get zergrush to work.

i kinda have an idea of what it is... is it a method kinda like the Tablet S? if yes, it is normal that it fails the rooting sometimes...

Not sure, it's mostly the same thing that was used for XPS.
hum, by XPS you mean Xperia S right? gotta read a bit how it is.
Pokoboy was just kidding, believe me! I read that thread all over, and nothing...
I hope there will be solution for root problem...
BTW, can you provide us with the root tool you are talking about? we will give it a shot, and we don't expect it to work 100%...
this device is very hard to root in locked bootloader because sony fixed the exploit., and another thing this phone is using different microprocessor(NovaThor), not a common Qualcomm SoC.

Even if he was (though I'm pretty sure he wasn't), he pointed me in the right direction. I'm the only person working on it, and I'm on vacation so I am NOT working on it right now.
I'll have a test version in a couple weeks.

This word you're using, 'hard to root'. I'm not sure it means what you think it means...

Neebie Brand New HTC One Max

Hi all, all I can do is follow instructions, if they are available, like they used to be 2 yrs ago.
I have windows 8.1, HTC ONE MAX Sprint I want to root it and install custom ROM.
Earlier there used to be step by step guides, but now I do not see them...What happed?
I was told look at Superroot, doownloaded it, no use..no intructions nothings.. seems like I will have to stick with Samsung Mega, atleast they have some instructions
You think any of us work for HTC.? We aren't shareholders neither. You stay or leave makes no difference.

Strange!! Eager to know why nobody cracked it yet...
still nothing for xt830c?
I would love to see this version of the phone opened up too!!!
I converted to ART and am seeing real storage problems...I do not have that many apps installed.
Include me on this list, I'd really like root for this device.
Mee tooo
Someone Get These Pricks!!!
I figured why not give calling em a shot. It was a thousand questions and then redirected to their security department then several more questions resulting in them saying "I'm sorry sir we do not even have a code to provide you and we do not allow or support device unlocking or rooting." I was like.. Byatch! What a mess! I should have researched this before buying... I looked it up, saw moto e was rootable and looked no further. Sucked in by the deal. Now I can't even return it. I've had it too long. I'm sure no one is even attempting it anymore. Think I might craigslist it for 40 and get me one to have a little fun with. Oh and not only that Tracfone has a site and under their name it says something like, when you have our phones you have the power. Ha! Straight talk just lost a long time customer. And this phone is just bloated out to the max with Google and Motorola CRAP! If someone out there in this mod world have this phone... Get it!!! Hit it hard! We can use this as a lab rat! I'm sure no one will buy it! Lol

So here's what I would believe, the CDMA version on straight talk is a cdma-v phone.. I assume that means its a Verizon phone, if I had a back up phone I'd be willing to try to root this one using the Verizon one click root app... Does anyone have any thoughts?
I would be willing to try it. Tried searching for it but couldnt find it. If you have link to the Verizon 1 click root app Ill try it asap. I just bought it and have a 30 day store warranty. I did try the LG Stump root 1.2 and did not work.

I will try it, I dont mind messing with my device, I can probably look at the apk as well and find the exploit to see what it is.
Look forward to hearing how it goes. Need this XT830C rooted. Never had a non rooted phone. What a big difference it makes and not for the good.

This is not the Verizon 1 click root as I was looking for the same but this is the Sprint/Verizon LG Stump root method I tried.
**This might be the 1 click root app. Doing a search on google keeps bringing this link up. Dont know for certain. Method did not work for me.

Is this the Version One Click root you were looking for? This is the updated version.
I found it via this article. Chrome detected the Verizon apk as a virus, but that's probably a false positive. The apk does come from XDA.
Blah blah blah, if you install that, I'm not responsible for nuclear war or bricked phones.
I'd try it tonight, but I need to be up for class/work tomorrow.
I don't have much to lose, although I do love this phone. Right now I use it as a server with VIM via Terminal IDE or as a web server with KSWEB. Although I recently converted an old 1.6GHz N270 Atom netbook to do the same thing, it's much louder and hotter, but way more powerful.
I'm just pissed what StraightTalk did to this phone. It's absolutely amazing, but those bastards had to ruin it.

Possible root for SM-T827V?

I did a quick google search and found a Twitter post from these guys saying that the SM-T827V is now rootable with their one click root method. Doors anyone have any experience with http://www.srsroot.com? Just wanted to check before I go trying it to be on the safe side. It looks a bit fishy to me.
