just a quick question guys, i got the btx300 speaker free with my z2, which was good as id actually looked at it before but decided it was too pricey as i only wanted it for work. Anyway ive used it a few times at work, first few times were great, put it on after break (approx 3am) and when i finished work (about 7:30-8am) i had to turn the speaker off, didn't take it to work for a week coz my lift was off n i didnt wanna carry it, anyway back in work with it this week, doing the same thing switching it on after break, but now the battery is dying within 3 hours...... Any ideas/suggestions as to why its dying so quick/ making it last longer?

filled with water and ice. i quickly snatched it out, popped the battery out and memory card, opened the slider to let it dry out. that was yesterday, today it's still not working. it gives the slight vibrate, i can hear it start up, i've even heard some calls come in and texts going off, but there's no power to the screen at all. does not light up, no life.
i have a brand new battery but is there any other place on the phone that will indicate the water damage besides the small one below where my memory card slot is? not sure which route is the best to take here, needless to say i'm going nuts without my phone and this basically ruined my plans all weekend since no one could reach me.
Your a bit stuffed TBH, there is another water indicator on the connector edge of the battery. Your best bet is to phone up your provider and ask for the Comprehensive insurance, leave it a week or 2 and then put the claim in.
i have the insurance anyway, ti's just a pain and takes a lot longer than swapping it out. i have a brand new battery with a clear indicator.

It doesn't take very long. Call up Sprint, they'll have one to you next day.
Oh man..i hate the water damage !!
well i got a new one today from sprint. place a piece of tape over the small indicator on the back, and either another one on the battery's spot, which they looked for, or keep a spare battery. worked for meeeee lol
glad you got it sorted
You could always get something like MyMobiler and see the screen on a PC, if the screen isn't working.
Glad you got a new one anyways.
Super noob here. brand newe to all things flash Rom and what not. This HD2 will be my first phone purchased for the purpose of modding however...
After doing a search for the words heat and hot I was not able to find much, and the wiki is down
So my first post is has anyone ran into the isse of the LED blinking green and orange and slow to no charge while plugged into the wall? To the point where it no longer charges?
I work in tech support and ive never seen anything like it outside of my gateway laptop.
I was running the stock ROM no mods yet outside of the Android mod that is being developed. i have master reset the thing easliy 10+ times in the few days ive had it though im not aware of constant reseting having a negative effect.
Basically on my way home while sitting in my console in the car I went to use it and noticed it was warm past comfortable warm. I had not used it for extended periods like hours of browsing wifi calls or using the phone hard.
I went to charge it 20 min later and it got really hot again after only being on the charger for 15-20 min and had only charged up to %15 from %13.
Took out everything let it sit overnight same thing the next day, tried a new battery and charger ( even though the battery was barely warm it is hot all along the bottom half on the back and going up the sides) and still had the same problem taking hour or 2 to charge 2-5 % and staying very hot with no use.
Im at a loss as to what to think any ideas?

Heat will cause what you are seeing, but also check and make sure that one of your battery pins is not bent, seems to be a common problem ..
Also have seen a few people that their battery was just bad , and they had to get a new one shipped in .....

Sure cant make any promises but Ill be happy to answer any question I can. I work in Teir 3 PDA support so all of my knowledge is tech based. Ill look up the task29 stuff Im not too familiar with that.
since you have already tried a different battery, and if the pins aren't bent, then its likely to be the phones charging circuits. get it warranty replaced.

I checked and didnt see it any bent pins they spring out just fine when removing the battery and apon inspection seem to be fine. One of the 1st things was for me to try a battery in hopes that it was that simple but to no avail
More information for those that care. The battery has been out now for a full 24 along with the sim.
I got home today and put the battery back in no sim memory card stil in. After being on for 8 min the back is far beyond warm.
The memory card is not recognized and I am certain it was before. This is getting weirder and weirder.
I wonder if it has anything to do with me trying to run the android mod off of a 2GB card that im sure was a class 2 and below, then master resetting it and going back to the 16GB that came with it?
More to come as i try new things.
Now the high temperatures in Austria cause the same problems on my HD2 when navigating in my car. HD2 after 2-5 minutes blinks orange-green (no loading) and after maximum 10-15 minutes crashes and at home too (my little office room has no AC, is in direct sunlight and room temp is over 30°C.
Unfortunately I have to rely on phone, email and office-functions and on navi-function for my upcoming vacation. No solution to place the HD2 in AC-stream in my car with this stupid original HTC-Car-Navi-Holder, in the office I have to put it in the fridge before to get it recharged.
When driving in the heat of noon I don´t even have to switch it on, just mounting into the loading-cradle is enough to make the HD2 crash after 10-15 minutes, only 3G on, nothing else (no BT, WiFi, HSPA, no app running etc.)
Until now I was quite satisfied with the HD2, had no crashes or malfunctions so far, but now I am really fed up with this piece of sh.. and I don´t think there will be a hardware or software-solution (except swichting it off) since the HD2 is malconstructed. And it IS correlated with ambient temps since it started to happen only when ambient temp is higher than 30 °C. When I am in a AC-room everything woks normal again.
i think i figured it out! i took out the sd and used the phone for 20 min or so. the heat gradually went away and its no longer getting hot. i am currently posting from the hd2 with a standard 2gb card inserted and will test my 8 and 16gnarled card today.
there is an issue with certain sd cards not being "officially supported"....
I read a post on here earlier from somebody saying that their 16gb card was causing their battery to drain fully in a matter of hours because audio manager was constantly working through numerous gb's of music on the card.........
may be completely unrelated to your problem but since you mentioned the card I thought Id chip that in..........
Hope you find a solution.....
today i was sitting on the train on my way home, suddenly i noticed my flash being on. i dont know when it got turned on since i certainly didnt intend it to do so (must have ticked it by accident). my concern now is that it has been on for ages the phone is brand new so i get easily freaked out by everything estimated time that the flash could have been on is 1,5 hours or so... but i dont think it has been on for that long since i was playing with it only 10 to 15 minutes before i noticed it........ also checked my battery stats and it looked like it hadnt been on for that long , but the stock flashlight thingy in sg3 dosent show up as a process for some reason
please someone tell me that this in no way can cause permanent damage to battery or phone (in terms of overheating, i checked that right after, all is good on that end )
Stop freaking out.. If everything works then your phone if completely fine! :good:
In most cases you'll be fine, although I do remember somehow shorting one of the LED's in my HTC Evo 4G like 2 years ago. Got the phone replaced for that. I used to use the flashlight app on it a lot.
I remember in the S2 thread one user once used it as a night light for 8 hours or so and had no problems.

lol good story ^^ okay... guess ill just chill then ... guess i would have noticed it alot sooner if it had been on for a long time.... i placed it face down on the table infront of me (always do that since my protection case also covers the screen ) so it should have caught my eye alot earlier in that scenario thanks for the help really calmed me down ^^
AHA! ) apperantly the phone has a built inn timer that shuts the flashlight down after 2 min if screen is off! wich means it probably was on for like..... 10 seconds before i noticed it haha ^^
Hey guys, been awhile since I snooped around some dev threads here. I have a peculiar case where my digitizer showed signs of dying very regularly before response disappeared sporadically then died totally. After a week of using it with my lap dock, I realised it was clunky and not gonna work for me, especially since I couldn't find a replacement here in Singapore. Then I bought a second hand xperia play as a temporary solution.
Over the last month or so I maintained the battery as I would a fully working phone, but didn't do much with it actually. Then today, I thought I'd try my luck with my screen and just jokingly slid my finger across the lock screen as usual. My other phone rang so I picked it up. Then I looked at my Atrix: its screen came back to life. Does this mean that tender loving care and non usage after a month can bring a dead digitizer back to life?
I'm still in a state of shock
Hi,
few months ago we were on a holiday and my mom took her Lumia 920 as a camera. All was going well, but one day when she opened the app, the screen was dark. After closing and reopening it was super overexposed, almost white. After next restart it was dark again.
She got scared and tried to restart the phone, but after shutting down the phone didn't turn back on. We left it on a charger for quite a long time but it didn't take the charge. I didn't think much about it since the battery was almost dead anyway, kept it's charge only for a half of a day, so I ordered a new one with SIM card contacts that got stripped in an accident.
Today I changed the SIM contacts, everything seemed nice, replaced the battery with new one (old one has exactly 0V, which is a little bit alarming), assembled the phone and nothing. Won't turn on, and on USB charger with ampermeter it shows 0A drainage, so it doesn't charge at all.
What can I do to revive it? My mom loves it as a camera since it is small and has really great optics. Even if it won't come back, how can I restore the data that was inside? It has about 50 GB of photos so it would really suck to lose it.
Thanks for any ideas
Hi,
did you already reset by pressing on/off and vol-lower together for at least 20 seconds? You can do that also while trying to charge. It worked fine for my 920.
Best regards,
Joachim
Hi,
yes, I indees tried this method with no such luck.
Thank you for your reply though.
Franta
Hi there,
I know this is an old thread but I had a similar issue and it turned out that the cable going from the USB port to the motherboard was torn.
You can buy a replacement for just a few monies and fit it very easily if you still have the phone.
I hope this helps someone
