[Q] Moving from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2 - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

I am on erro rom 4.2.2 and i want to upgrade to 4.4.2 , either PAC or the LX series , and do i just go on and do the normal backup , wipe and flash routine , or is there anything else i need to do before upgrading?.. reason i ask is , my sd card is partitioned to use with link2sd , will this still work with 4.4.2?

Hmmm...most important thing when you upgrading to v4.4.2 is
in recovery you must (mandatory)...
1. format system
2. format data
3. format cache
this can be found in mounts and storage option in recovery.....failing to do so will result in bootloop....
if you don't like 4.4.2 and wanna to go back then you need to flash 4.2.2 kernel and boot into recovery and again format the above partition before you restore your backup....

If you are planning to upgrade to kitkat then you can't use lupus kernel anymore...you need to use kernel inside the rom zip...hust extract the kernel and flash it using flashtool...then boot into recovery and do the above step...

i think you need to root your phone first, install cwm, then flash stock ICS ROM,after that then flash SlimCM rom.
what about kernel ?? do I need to install it in the end and what kernels work best with SlimCM ? won't I loose root when I flash stock ICS Rom ?

Use fast boot and flash sliding xu kernel. Actually I recommend transcendence kernel. Flash that, reboot into recovery, copy ROM zip to storage. Wipe data, cache, dalvik and system and then flash slim cm zip

My phone is neo v(MT11i),root,4.1.b.0.587,stock kernel,4.0.4 and xparts do only reboot without recovery
Try flashing vengeance kernel
I guess you flashed stock kernel after installing ulitmate hd 5.0, try flashing vengeance kernel to get into cwm recovery...

No bro,i rooted, later flash kernel and after i build ultimate hd..
Do you know how to unistall custom rom without lose root and kernel?
restore is the only option I know
If you 1. have taken a backup and 2. have the kernel image<boot.img> you want on your device, then you can 1. flash a kernel with cwm<vengeance kernel for mt11i>, 2. restore the backup and 3. flash the required kernel<boot.img>.

First any download Custum ROMs u want along With Gapps, and flash the ROM zip and Gapps zip with TWRP recovery,
I prefer CM for stable ROM, and if u want lots of features i prefer AICP and if u want AOSP based rom i prefer Tesla, and Gapps i Prefer "TK Gapps Modular Micro", (search tk gapps in Google)

Is there is any simple method to update to lollipop for ROOTED Moto-E users...
Go to TWRP and wipe "cache". Reboot to system.
Hi bro thanks for replying but one thing since i have rooted moto E n already installed TWRP, WHEN to wipe CACHE its before installing soak test1 having 341mb file or when it automatically gets into recovery mode while installing above update???

If you wanna update, flash stock recovery, only then it will work. Also, you need to have an unmodified system so you probably have to flash the entire stock ROM 4.4.4 only then you can update. Or if you wanna get out of the bootloop, just wipe cache.
Follow this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e/development/downgrade-5-0-x-to-4-4-4-stock-firmware-t3031073 and then update.
