I believe you can access their data from what I read in a recent article but such exploits and apps are banned from play store.

Currently i am using Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 and i wasn't able to do tethering with my phone. I had to root the device and then do some changes to do tethering. For some reason i am not able to get the latest Samsung update. I wanted to send my device back to Samsung to get the update . I wanted to know after the samsung update is there a way to do tethering with my phone. Has any one done this before?
You can't use the samsung update while rooted.

I'm able to tether my Tab to my HTC Desire Z no problem, I put the phone into wifi hotshot mode and then connect my Tab to it and away I go.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

you can get it free from the market
basically you download it to your phone and your tablet, you run it as a server on the phone and as a client on the tablet

The Google Play store is apparently letting me download Google Wallet. It runs but says it hasn't been verified with my carrier and phone plus needs an os upgrade.
Signs of ICS soon?
Btw, i couldn't do this the other day.
That's odd. It says it's incompatible with HTC Amaze. It refuses to allow me to download it.

It refused to allow me to download it. Says it's not available by my carrier. Same here, running on stock, unrooted.

I actually tried downloading it before... Before the amaze was s-off
It crashes upon startup but these are the errors i get. It's a different error i got when i just installed the apk.
Not available in my Country at all apparently (Canada)
Shows up on Google Play for me but says its not compatible with my phone.
google wallet
Well guess what guys I've been thinking, if google wallet was only intended for the nexus s or other related phones, may be we can trick the phones registry to make it think it is a nexus s, ummmm!!!!!
Interesting that it let you install it. Google play store says it's not compatible with mine though. One day...one day.

That might fix the first error (not certified with my phone and/or carrier) but it won't with the next. (O.S. Upgrade required.) I''m fairly certain it wants ics.

Short answer: I think you have to unlock it first.
Longer answer: If you don't care to change roms, then don't. But I think you'll need to unlock before rooting.

Has anyone managed to use tethering with unlimited data plan on AT&T? Does it boil down to rooting the phone?
I'm just wondering if there are any devs actively working on a workaround for the psn app and remote play feature for people who unlocked there bootloaders and did not backup the TA folder

I'm in a similar position as you. Tried running the simple Playstation App (not looking at remote play yet, don't have a PS4) and I receive the error 0x82e01003 after trying to sign in.
No news on this??? Possible to get remote play working with a custom rom??? Failing that anyone know where i could sell my phone so i can get one with a non unlockable bootloader? Can't sell it at a phone shop as i still have around 16 months on the contract
Hoping for news on this too! It sucks that they got it to work on non Sony phone - but for some reason i can't get it to work on my Xperia. Maybe my IMEI is saved as unlocked when I unlocked it on the Sony website.
May be this could be help for you guys

Hey guys so I installed Android pay and have a grand fathered card from the Google wallet days, I have a Verizon lg g3 running sky Dragon 6.0 with current kernel 5.1.1 35b. I installed Android pay by temporarily disabling root within the sueruser app. Once my card was added I reenabled superuser and installed xposed. However I keep on getting the following error when I try to make purchases with nfc enabled. My card cannot be used with android pay right now please use another card or try again later. Anyone else having this issue?

unless i missed some new developments, android pay cant be used while root is on.
So can I temporarily disable root in the superuser app before a purchase or is it going to detect my xposed install as well

i cant answer that. i never used it to get involved with the details. i just know from the many posts following its release, that it cant work on a rooted phone.
sorry
Guess there's only one way to find out just thought you had to disable root to get the cards added, I'll test later with root disabled and see what happens

I've read in one of the forums that root cloak xposed module works

You can disable root or you need a root cloak module.
It works.
It doesn't seem like it works in all situations. And not exactly reliably. Hopefully Google will figure out a way for those of us on rooted devices to use it.

That's never going to happen.
They don't want rooted users to use it.

That's correct; it's a valid security issue.
