I'm just wondering if there are any devs actively working on a workaround for the psn app and remote play feature for people who unlocked there bootloaders and did not backup the TA folder

I'm in a similar position as you. Tried running the simple Playstation App (not looking at remote play yet, don't have a PS4) and I receive the error 0x82e01003 after trying to sign in.
No news on this??? Possible to get remote play working with a custom rom??? Failing that anyone know where i could sell my phone so i can get one with a non unlockable bootloader? Can't sell it at a phone shop as i still have around 16 months on the contract
Hoping for news on this too! It sucks that they got it to work on non Sony phone - but for some reason i can't get it to work on my Xperia. Maybe my IMEI is saved as unlocked when I unlocked it on the Sony website.
May be this could be help for you guys

So, Playstation Mobile was released today. I installed the .apk on my S3 and can confirm we aren't supported.
Think anyone will release a crack?
I really don't know, it depends how the app finds out what model you are on, not compatible with hardware, possibly.
If I was Sony though I would check the model of the phone and check servers then probably not, unless people want to spoof their model number.

Hmm okay. I guess we'll be getting support at some point. There's not too many games out of it at the moment anyway.

You could try this: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...tion-mobile-for-android-on-any-rooted-device/
I don't know if that method works on the GS3, however. After being the unlucky owner of a 3G Vita (which I gave to my brother, who doesn't use it anymore after he got a GS2), there's no way I'm letting any **** like that onto my phone. Sony can go to hell.

An android smartphone is no replacement for a dedicated handheld games console. Actually compared to phones you get way more for your money.

I would say the other way, "It's a shame that Samsung doesn't support PlayStation mobile on such a powerful device."
I installed it with the method on Android Police, but "files over 20MB can only be downloaded via WiFi" ok uninstall.
Also @onesolo it's not Samsung, it's Sony, they make the app, they have to make it compatible, unless you want Samsung to replace all hardware in the S3 with the hardware of supported devices, then it might work.
So I made the dumb mistake of purchasing a rooted zu. Apparently it didn't have ta backup. So screen mirroring does not work. It was one of my main reasons for purchasing the due to the fact my sony tv will only mirror with xperia phones. Is there a work around for this?? Or can some create one? I will pay if need be

I can even mirror my screen on my LG tv with unlocked bootloader. It should always work, it's not drm related as far as I know

How did you managed to do that? I've also a LG (lg-55LM760S) but not working. Both devices get discovered by each other but won't connect.

I believe you can access their data from what I read in a recent article but such exploits and apps are banned from play store.

I'm willing to throw up $100 for the first Dev to unlock a locked bootloader on the Z2. I miss my AOSP ! Anyone else chipping in?
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
A non unlockable bootloader is not easily unlocked, it will take upto 2 years to unlock a single device so its pointless, and even then this unlock will only work on that device so no, no unlock
As for aosp roms, all we need is a third kernel in the system partition, its quite hard but done before and works fine when done

I'm saying that I'd be willing to pay whichever method gets me AOSP.

Can't you flash an AOSP based ROM if you use EasyRoot, install XZDualRecovery and then use TWRP/PhilZ to flash?
A bit off topic but.
Did i miss something in the android world - i have never had a sony device before (always used htc even before htcdev) but what changed once upon a time usually exploits came around in a matter of months not years. So did sony invent the ultimate protection system or something like that ?

Don't understand you?
"We have" found exploits for all fw for now...
All latest firmwares for all Xperia devices (Z,Z1(s and c) Z2 and all older devices could be rooted..
Z2 is 2-3 month old device and we have root method for all firmwares...
That doesn't have anything with custom ROMs or AOSP ROMs.
Locked bootloader is something totally diferent.
Locked bootloader is something Sony won't do , that's something requested by operators (mostly t-mobile) - Google it and you'll get it..

Yes i meant unlocking the bootloader (i know what locked bootloader is dont worry). As i said I used to have HTC`s for the past like 10 years and initially (true during the windows era that was not a problem) then alparev did the job etc anyway was more of me just thinking about it no worries

if ur device Bootloader unlock allowed = NO
so u can change ur xz2 with mine xz2
Just wondering if that AOSP for locked bootloaders got anywhere, I just updated to 23.0.1.A.0.167 and lost root
Aosp requires a custom kernel which requires an unlocked bootloader so no :-/

Does any one know why I never get any of the Sony updates for Walkman and album and move apps In the update center on the z3v
Same here on the Z3 D6603. I have to manually check for the updates but then it works.

There was an update for Walkman several weeks ago, but I think they're going to include all of the new updated apps into the Lollipop update.

Thats what I was thinking, I think Verizon blocks some of it, so they can put in their updates the way they want to.

I contacted verizon and after days of research they stated that they update the apps with the updates that come out for the phone and that they dont use the update center to update apps.
Are you sure? I remember getting a Walkman update through there before.

I remember getting one update too but they completely disregarded the fact that I had received an update and just ended with the fact that I would get the updates when the phone updates. I just gave up cause its verizon and I have already located and downloaded all the updates I wanted anyways.

What updates did you go out to find yourself? The only biggest update I've done is updating Walkman to the Material design that had been released for the Z2 Tablet. Only inconvenience is them removing the ClearAudio+ button from the front menu...
The problem isn't from the app. The notification that doesn't allow you to login is because Sony has discontinued their Music Unlimited service. The Walkman app doesn't know this though so you get the error message.
I cleared the message doing this:
1. go to settings
2. turn off Music Unlimited.
I love the Walkman app and hope that Sony doesn't really rebrand it to Music.

We aren't talking about the Walkman app having login problems, we're taking about updating apps from the Update Center. Which quite frankly, Sony confirms it will be discontinued and the feature will instead be integrated with What's New.
As for Sony dropping the Walkman brand, it's a move to get new consumers to know where their music is at since most people around the age of 15 or so didn't get to experience the brand iconic culture before in the 80s and 90s. Better just back it up before the update.
Damn, I thought I was being so helpful.

I don't think there is a way to back up anything you've downloaded from music unlimited if you were a paid subscriber. It's all in Sony's proprietary format I think. It's going to be a pain because 3/4 of my tunes will be gone and I'll have to set it all up again on whatever the replacement provides. Sony should do something for us paid subscribers due to the major inconvenience.

Oh, I meant just backing up the app itself just to keep the looks and branding of the Walkman app. I never use any music services so I can't help you there. Although, I thought Sony offers something for subscribers moving onto Spotify?

Sony gave me two free months for signing up with Spotify. Sound and selection are good but is like to see the radio integrated with the Walkman app.
