[Q] Android on Acer Iconia W3 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to know wether it is possible to make Android and Windows dualboot or not. The Acer Support told me that the bootloader is locked, so it is impossible to install it without hacking. So what I want to know is how I can hack the UEFI? I like Windows, but only for school or homework. I need Android aswell... Please help me... and if you can not help me, it would be very nice if you can tell me who could answer my question.

I tried both, the first one do not work because booting another OS is locked by Windows... if I try to start apps on bluestacks, they stuck and I get blackscreen..

You can try Universal Androot to root this device, google for its apk, download it, transfer it to usb pen drive, use device pre-installed file manager to browse the apk and click to install it. After installation, open Androot and click root button, it will root your device.

[Q] Q: Acer Iconia B1 710 (rooting and custom roms)

Hi guys,
first of all: if my questions are on the wrong place, please move it to the right one. Thanks.
Yesterday I have got an Acer Iconia B1 710 tablet and my questions are:
Q: Are there any howtos how to root the tablet?
Q: Are there any coustom roms for the tablet?
Many thanks in advance,
Ponder
I've got same device, I have posted same question yesterday, so far, there is no root for this version of iconia, on the other way custom rom is out of a question. Bootrom is locked, so there is no way to install other OS on it...

Did you find out how to put custom rom onto Acer Iconia B1?
Getting unplayable lag on Heroes of order and chaos and modern combat 4, hoping that using custom rom will improve that?

[Q] gt-i9300 ROOT on 4.3 with linux ?

Is it possible ? Since framaroot and towelroot didn't work and I only have a Linux computer and no Windows avaliable. I couldn't find the solution online and I know there are a lot of skilled people on here . Hope someone can help and hello everyone !
I've never personally had to use it as I've either used my windows computer or windows running in virtualbox(also another method you could try), but there is JOdin3. It's an opensource java implementation of Odin. So get yourself a root zip and try it out!
Thanks a lot ! Could someone write a quick guide for debian linux as I dont wanna brick my phone ?
There are several guides for windoes which thanks to JOdin3 would work the same, there are also video guides available for JOdin3. Is there anything specific you are unsure about?
Ok i downloaded the cf-autoroot zip for s3. So now lets say I flash it . Do I need to install a custom recovery, unlock the bootloader or something else in order to install a custom rom like androod revolution hd ?
Bumpity bump?
You would have to flash a custom recovery like TWRP or CWM in order to install a custom rom, yes. Sorry for the late reply, I've been busy and forgot to check back in
UNLOCK BOOTLOADERS
If you have locked bootloaders, flashing one of these will probably brick your device - with the exception of Nexus devices, which will**automatically "OEM unlock" and*wipe your data.
Should I be worried about this?
