Hey there!
I have done a ROM and a developer said, that the EXT4 format tool is neccessary for installing the rom, so I have formated it, but since than, it is stuck on a boot loader. (android logo + name of kernel. I have a ROM ACE 1.3. done before this one)...
So, do you have any ideas how could I format system back?
Thanks in advance!

I got mik_os v.6.3 + p500 tweak + libsqlite.os + DT apps2sd + CWM
The problem is I can't upgrade to mik_os v.6.5.
I already got the rom. I tried wiping everything using CWM, even the system. After installing and reboot, I got stuck in the first LG logo. Am I missing anything??
What is the correct way to update and exact steps to take??
Thanks in advance,

Did you wipe sd_ext?
Yes I did also.

Don't use that modified libsqlite.so on mik's os, or any other gingerbread rom, it breaks a lot of stuff.
Try again without that and see if it works.
I think its because of data2sd. Try to format your sdcard then flash the rom and all those tweaks. If it works then flash again data2sd

was your previous rom cm7.2??
then you have to flash firmwares like kpb,kpo,kph.. because there are multi package you can't flash one package if you are switching from cm7.2 or cm7.1 to stock firmware ..basically you need multi package wich contains files like apboot,
code,csc,modem ..
its not bricked.. bricked means when phone can't wake up
solutions - either go to recovery and do full wipe (factory reset) + wipe cache.
or
flash any multi package rom.
Thank you both Wiping Data/factory reset and wiping cache worked
life savers !

No, u can't use one package ,because cm7 changes the extension to ext4
and stock firmware has extension of rfs.
so if you flash one package you will get boot loop..
but if you flash one package ->
Then go to recovery and do factory reset and wipe cache..
that will change extension to rfs again...so you will not get boot loop.
As simple as that

have you tried going from cm7 to stock ?? NO
i tried several roms and always did one package..and all worked.
most of stock rom now converts it first to rfs and then only intsall
ext4 is not extension FYI

I have went to stock rom many times I used to get boot loop if flash one package ..and if multi packege no boot loops no need for factory rest and wiping cache
Then I searched why this happens ...then I got this information ...
I always use multi package
well all the latest roms on sammobiles and sampro are one package so you need to know this

Just wanted to say thanks. I was worried for a bit when my phone boot looped
Recently I want to flash a rom and I try to follow the developer's instruction on how to install it
one of the steps is fomatting /system after wiping data, cache and Dalvik cache
I'm using bootmenu manager but I can't find this option available in the recovery:cyclops:
after flashing the rom, my phone just stucks on the android boot animation
so I think this step might be essential
Is it impossible to do this:crying:
any help would be greatly appreciated
This step is not essential, as during the flash process the /system partition is automatically formatted.
So maybe you didn't use a ROM compatible with BM
Did you use the ROM convertor? What ROM are you trying to flash?
The ROM I was trying to flash is d-wiz rom
First time I used bmm 0.2.7
I ticked the "safestrap" box and converted rom
failed
Then I used bmm 0.2.8 beta 3
Convert the ROM
Still failed
Now I use safestrap v3
Everything is fine

Yes, same as mine. I have tried on both types of recovery, safestrap and bootmenu, but couldn't find it anywhere.

You can find this option in "mounts & format"
Some roms need to have a formated system, as the dev says in OP
updated from stock 3.1 to latest nightly and ended up with the sd partition down to 2.8G and the data partition up to 10G... how do i fix it?

Back up you're device to a PC...
Odin the ICS boot loader from droid basement or Odin the stock 4.0.4 ICS ROM...Root it...( if you have the p7510 WiFi only And you have went to ics 4.0.4..check my FAQ thread..all you need is there..) After the root...stay stock or jump back in...Lol The more the merrier...
You jumped to far ahead...you're boot loader is the problem..I think. Maybe somebody more experienced than me can shed a little light on the problem...but I think its a boot loader issue..read the op of the ROM you flashed and see what they say..you said nightly..so I'm assuming its cm.
Also...always read the change log...important stuff....
Let me know how it goes..

OK... I would have odin'd the boot loader first...but if it took and you have cwm..OK.
I tell everybody to get infamous twrp recovery...but that's just me. I had problems on cwm...never had any on twrp..and in the infamous aokp ROM thread kasper has an infamous themed twrp zip..
boot recovery...wipe cache..
wipe dalvik cache( under advanced )
flash infamous twrp recovery zip...
wait.........
when its done...
go to advanced and pick reboot recovery...
Now that you're on a super solid recovery...
wipe data
wipe cache
wipe dalvik
format system
( In twrp...all these wipe settings can be found by picking wipe/advanced...and you can do them all at once...Yes..TWRP rules..
Now install the cm zip...
when its done...
install gapps...
reboot...enjoy...

Can you explain more thoroughly? I don't understand. SD card total or free is 2.8 GB? My guessing is that you didn't read the cm10.1 thread enough. Your whole SD partition is jacked up. Copy your files to PC and format your SD card, then Odin flash stock ICS and start over.
Sent from my GT-P7500 using Tapatalk HD
The simple explanation is that I only have 2.8 of usable space on the tab.
The rest is taken
Tapatalk N7100 note 2
The simple solution is to backup your files to PC then format your SD card.

Good catch eushaun...man I must have been half asleep when I read this...
To OP..eushaun is right on the money...but if you don't want to flash stock with Odin..you can back up to a PC..Then format sdcard in recovery..It might work...if it doesn't..then the Odin flash will be necessary..
