I am having issues with the Wifi on my Z2
I stay connected to a Wifi access point fine, but as soon as I move out of the Wifi area and then try to turn on Wifi again, it wont turn on until I either go into airplane mode, or turn the device off and on again.
I have Location based wifi disabled, stamina disabled, wifi optimization disabled and scanning always available disabled.
Anyone else having these same issues?
I haven't tried a hard reset or a firmware fix yet.
My bootloader is also permo-locked
Try to forget your network and pair again.
Forgot network and paired again. When the wifi is on, it will stay on. But when I turn off, whether manually or via the "location based wifi" setting, it won't start again if it has been off for a long period of time.
Has nobody else had this issue?

Hey man, I've got the same problem.
It only happens occasionally, but the WiFi doesn't turn back on until I restart the phone.
Everything you have turned off, I have turned on.
I had the same issue with the 3 branded firmware .55 & also with the Taiwan firmware .69 Flashed the UK unbranded .55 firmware & never had the issue since.

Can I flash the unbranded firmware if my bootloader is locked and my device is sim locked to EE?

AFAIK you should be able to do that with no issues, look in the Stock FTF thread to find the UK unbranded .55 firmware

didn't fix mine.
I had been able to put phone in "airplane" mode, reboot and get wifi to work. now that doesn't seem to be working...
Really irritating when I am overseas and not going to be back on a us network anytime soon... I was reading on the motorola forum, when it was working, that the issue may have something to do with the phone not registering with the correct network... IDK the validity of that though.
I had the same issues before. It is related to sprint software. The best way is to have the phone rooted and then use titanium backup to freeze an app called sprintomaden or since you are using gsm you can delete all sprint related software in system/app. I am sure you will have no further problem.

Hello everyone, i'm asking this because it's the third time i had this issue. I often keep my Data Network Mode deactivated and turn it on only when i need because of my 3g plan (quota, taxes, and also because it's likely to find a WiFi network in the places i usually go).
The problem is, sometimes i turn on 3g (by Phone options menu) and... nothing happens... i need to reboot to make it work again.
The 3G network in my country is quite unstable, but i'm pretty sure that isn't a signal problem because one of the times i was turning on/off the 3G to make it work and i gave up and forgot to turn it off, the next day when i tried again i found it was On but not connected. After a reboot, working again.
Anyone having this issue who found a fix? Could be a problem with the kernel or app?
Edit: I Forgot: CF-ROOT Kernel, KF3

mate i am afraid you have answer already - "The 3G network in my country is quite unstable"
that can clearly produce the bug. Just in the case check your APN settings if they are correct. Settings- wireless and network-mobile networks- access Poin Names - compare the stats there with your network provider and make deep research.
just example i am on vodafone - i found that i was running vodafone live profile in APN and i was loosing conexion and i had troubles loading some pages - after research i found that there is another setup for vodafone as well - different then the live but for vodafone as well. i am using it since then and i am experiencing now the lighting speed of 3g. Just give it a try.
Searching on the internet i found that the configuration of my APN is equal to the recommended.
Backup data and factory reset phone should clear any software problems .
You could try flashing KH3 modem .

Same issue here for both rooted and un-rooted GS2
Retracted - will have to do more testing
Hi, everyone.
After a slight fall, my S5830L started rebooting randomly. In some cases it just shutdown.
Looking for causes, I've found that when Data Connection is active ( In Settings - Wireless and Network Settings - Mobile Networks) it reboots.
If I turn off Data Connections everything is fine. I even can connect using WiFi when available, and synchronize accounts, send emails, access market, etc. All OK.
When I check again Data Connection option, sooner or later (rather sooner) it fails again.
Has anyone heard about issues like this? I need some help to deal with it. I can use almost everything, except data connection, and I really miss it
Thanks to all for the answers, any idea is welcome!
Augusto.
PS: Hope my mail is clear enough, since English is not my native language...

Hi, this is not normal, what firmware do have you installed?
This problem may be occur with any program installed and not for firmware problem.
I've flashed at least three different firmwares and with all the same problem persists.
Right now i've Android 2.3.6 (from Entel PCS, Chile)
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-perf- CL771662
Compilation Number: GINGERBREAD.UBKPL
Baseband Version: S5830LUBKPL
The problem started after my son dropped the phone downstairs, just a couple of steps, though...
I don't remember installed anything wierd, for that time.-
PS: I took the info about Entel PCS version from your web. Thanx. Nice Job!
I would have to agree that it sounds more software then hardware based. Usually if hardwares broken its very predictable. I would try to restore a different firmware stock or custom. I have an L and went with a custom rom. The data dropping might be a baseband issue but someone more wise than I would have to comment on that.
The wierd thing is that on the first connection it works, at some point the connection hangs, then while trying to reconnect it shutdown.
I was running a Samsung's 2.3.4 firmware when the problem started, then I flashed a Personal Stock 2.3.4 firmware (the original, that came with the phone), after that tried Entel PCS's 2.3.6. I keep this one because it's the newer version...
All behave the same way. The baseband should be the same for all, because the L (S5830L) is for LatinAmerica, and I've always double checked this.
Hi,
Have you tried to flash the original stock ROM again? You can download it from http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/
This site also explain how to use odin to flash the firmware.
My Android version is 2.3.4and Baseband is S5830LUBKPF and it works OK
I believe it might be hardware wise. Have you rooted you SGA already?

Same issue
I had a similar issue on wifi after the update but not as severe as yours. It is only twice that the wifi did not want to turn on and even the phone was shut down on its own but after that it is working fine so far. I flashed it using Odin and did not wipe the phone. Try flashing the rom before ICS and install ICS by Odin without wiping the phone.
I tried to reinstall the update via kies, and now wifi is working

I can confirm the wifi problems, and actually my phone has been crashing a lot. actually I had to remove the battery in order to continue using it.
I have a theory that it is caused by wifi or 3g, last night I disabled both 3g and wifi and in the morning the phone didnt crash overnight.
My Xperia Z2 phone was working fine before I upgraded it to Lollipop (23.1.A.0.690 Customized PH FTF) three days ago. Now it is not always showing my carrier (Globe PH) on locked homescreen, instead it is showing 'No service'. I checked it on my Settings>About Phone>Status and verified that my mobile state is connected and my signal indicator on home screen is at full bar with an ongoing data connection as seen on the attachments. Are you guys having the same problem? Do you have any workaround for this? Thanks!
This is a known bug with lollipop for D6502 and is fixed in .726, just check for update or download and flash an FTF
Thanks, but I am using the D6503 variant, is this also affected?
yes, both are affected on .690 but Sony have rectified the issue with .726
