Xperia Z2 showing 'No service' after Lollipop upgrade - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Xperia Z2 phone was working fine before I upgraded it to Lollipop (23.1.A.0.690 Customized PH FTF) three days ago. Now it is not always showing my carrier (Globe PH) on locked homescreen, instead it is showing 'No service'. I checked it on my Settings>About Phone>Status and verified that my mobile state is connected and my signal indicator on home screen is at full bar with an ongoing data connection as seen on the attachments. Are you guys having the same problem? Do you have any workaround for this? Thanks!

This is a known bug with lollipop for D6502 and is fixed in .726, just check for update or download and flash an FTF

Thanks, but I am using the D6503 variant, is this also affected?

yes, both are affected on .690 but Sony have rectified the issue with .726

Xperia P signal problems

Hi,
I'm having problems with my XP
The problem is with the signal, in the status bar says 100% and it show the carrier name but I cant make a call or send SMS, I have to turn off the phone then turn on again to make it works
I have restored the phone two times without results, Android problem?? (I hope)
Is your sim working properly? Try it in another phone maybe? not a problem ive heard of before with this phone. This needs to be in the Q&A section btw
I take two screenshots with the signal state, the second screenshot was in the exact time when the signal drops
After like 30min, the signal is gone
Even the signal bar is empty
I will test the SIM in another phone
Do you have ICS and the latest firmware?
I have ICS 4.0.4
I will test the SIM in another phone
Here the OP resolved the issue replacing the SIM, I hope same for me

[Q] Can't turn Wifi off

Hi,
I have a problem with my Xperia P.
If i'm connected to a wifi network and then go away (lose range), it becomes impossible to turn wifi off. If i click the toggle, it shows it has turned off, but is still on and when i revisit the menu, the toggle appears to be on again.
Any advice on how to put this to a rest? I really don't have the nerves to do a factory reset and resintall/reconfigure everything...
edit: i have the stock ICS firmware and no root access.
Thanks,
M
Have you check it with power recycling?

Do you rebooted your phone?
This solves many problems on Android

Hi,
only a factory reset helped. I remebered that i have been trying out some tasker apps, so that must have messed things up. Even uninstalling these apps did not help, beware
I am having the same issue, but whats more I can't scan for new networks when entering a new area. It just shows the ones from the previous area with the strengths they had there.
Rebooting the phone helps to connect once but when I leave that area it's the same **** all over again.
I already brought my phone back to the shop where they sent it to sony for "an update" but nothing changed.
The phone is running the stock android 4.04 ICS
Any help would be greatly apreciated

usually this is from the wifi router setting ... might need to change the channels(1,6,8)....ICS has showed issues on wifi refreshing and reconnecting.. first change the channel from auto to fixed value and then restart your phone and try it again.. see if this helps.. also do let me know if you are on rooted device with custom rom or stock rom...??
WIFI Problem
I am also having same kind of problem on my xperia SOLA

In a last desperate attempt to fix it I tried fixing the firmware through PC companion again, and I didn't have any problems today so I'm hoping for the best.

Either you have to do factory reset or rebooting the device might help
Or you can delete all used existing Wi-Fi connection for starting a new Wi-Fi connection

Wifi Issues - won't turn on until reboot

I am having issues with the Wifi on my Z2
I stay connected to a Wifi access point fine, but as soon as I move out of the Wifi area and then try to turn on Wifi again, it wont turn on until I either go into airplane mode, or turn the device off and on again.
I have Location based wifi disabled, stamina disabled, wifi optimization disabled and scanning always available disabled.
Anyone else having these same issues?
I haven't tried a hard reset or a firmware fix yet.
My bootloader is also permo-locked
Try to forget your network and pair again.
Forgot network and paired again. When the wifi is on, it will stay on. But when I turn off, whether manually or via the "location based wifi" setting, it won't start again if it has been off for a long period of time.
Has nobody else had this issue?

Hey man, I've got the same problem.
It only happens occasionally, but the WiFi doesn't turn back on until I restart the phone.
Everything you have turned off, I have turned on.
I had the same issue with the 3 branded firmware .55 & also with the Taiwan firmware .69 Flashed the UK unbranded .55 firmware & never had the issue since.

Can I flash the unbranded firmware if my bootloader is locked and my device is sim locked to EE?
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
AFAIK you should be able to do that with no issues, look in the Stock FTF thread to find the UK unbranded .55 firmware

Germany - unbranded - 1281-4640 - LINK1
Germany - o2 - 1281-4650 - LINK1

internet connection problem with Sony z1 compact

Hello,
I,ve got that problem with my z1c for a long time. In fact, since i own this device.
It has a problem with connecting to the internet, lets say, every fifth attempt to connect. Then the icon changes constantly from h+ to 3g+ and back. You see its working, but it cant get the data from the net.
What i do then is, i switch off mobile-broadband and switch it on again and then it will work for some time.
But it can be very annoying and i still use my good ol z1c as my main phone, so it would be cool to fix this.
Its not the provider. No problem with that SIM-Card in other phones. Its stock-android 5.1.1
If you have an idea, please help
Some updates on the problem:
If i choose "WCDMA only" as my preferred Network-type the problem is solved. But then i cant get any connection if i'm in an area, where only EDGE network is available.

yes, the apn is correct
Back up your data and use Sony PC companion to reflash your firmware , probably you will fix that issue .

Already done my friend.
I once flashed a custom ROM on the phone. The internet was fine, but several other problems forced me back to stock-android. Flashed with the xperia companion.
Sadly this strange problem came back with stock-android.
Thats what is confusing me, too.

Question Sony xperia network status bar inconsistent

I am using Xperia 1 iv since last one week. The network status bar is always fluctuating and inconsistent. Even in open areas the network keeps fluctuating. I already did the firmware repair thru the companion app.
Anyone facing the same issue? Please suggest a fix for this!
You can try a few thing if you havent already:
Restart your phone
Check your SIM card for any damage, dust or loose connection
Update your phone's software
Reset your network settings
Contact Sony support
that's just a rough estimate and doesn't really tell you much about network except the type that is currently using. Either get some better app that can analyze the network or better yet, forget about it. Can work better with 2 bars then with 5.
