This thread is for Project Engine Kernel users to clarify their doubts or face any difficulties in using the kernel.Any Recognised Contributor who would like to help me to manage this Q&A thread is greatly appreciated
Requirements:
Galaxy Grand Quattro Device(Obviously)
Logcat(It would be easier for me or the RC to spot the issues easily
Do speak politely with one another. Its part of respecting each another and the XDA rules
If you can help, try contributing to fix issues that other users faced because we are all here to learn
FAQ:
Why is my phone's battery discharging so fast?
- Check that the amount of apps running on your background process. If there is too much applications running,i suggest you use greenify
Why is USB OTG not supported in Galaxy Grand Quattro?
- Somehow Samsung disabled USB OTG in Grand Quattro Device and I am trying to reverse-engineer the process of how they disable it and how i can fix it.I know this is quite a hot-topic among users but seriously its not as easy as you think. There are lots of consideration when coding OTG because if not handled well,it could be pose risky problems
Where do i download the zip file?
- I have imported the thread to XDA DEVDB Project so now all zip files are under the Downloads tab.You are required to use the browser or when you are in Tapatalk, click view on Web to see the Download files
What does the governor and I/O Scheduler do?
- Well there are already lots of hardworking chaps in XDA writing guides to help users. One of them is here and another one is here.Dont forget to thank them because writing this guide takes a long time for them and their hardwork should be rewarded.
What is the difference between ARM and Linaro toolchain?
- ARM toolchain is the basic compiling toolchain used for kernels and ROMs but Linaro toolchains is full of optimisations that could really make a big improvement in the kernel such as battery life and performance.Over the years, many users were elated over the speed and battery life that their device kernel can achieve through the Linaro toolchain and it is now the most well-known toolchain in XDA and other places of Earth.Well, fear not,Project Engine Kernel is compiled using Linaro GCC 4.7.4 Toolchains and therefore, you will be amazed with the difference between the stock and custom kernel.
I know there are lots of question that i cant answer all so post them here if you have enquiries

This is not your kernel issue but i need a experts help..thats why i am asking to you..i am troubling with a great problem when i running some apps..its suddenly crashes without any error msg..screen became black & came to home screen...all apps closes instantly then..i googled the problem...got a solution to delete the cache & data of apps or that particular app..i tried all that..but nothing happens..still it crashes with a black screen..please help..otherwish its became so irritating to use such a thing...i am facing this problem about 2 mnths..flashed many clear roms..tried almost evrything..your latest vr kenel also but nothing changes..please help sir...

Just so ...
Im trying... All the best for your future releases.
EDIT: Wow! it's very smooth & stable. No sammy bloatware. Everything is just smooth and fast, all it's missing is the Toggles and 4-way boot menu. Definitively keeping this one as my daily driver.
Agreed with the above post, great clean build. No issues to report. Very nice indeed.
Thanks to the OP.
Regards.
This is just what we want, pure aosp jb. May I ask the steps to build it?
Well, installed it, works good ! Thanks !
is bluetooth a2dp fixed yet?
What about hwcomposer? Is this ROM at the same stage or bugs are fixed?
Edit:
To not forget, thanks cile381!

No hwcomposer .Until team hacksung states that they fixed hwcomposer there can't be a working hwcomposer in ANY jb derived roms

How is the Ram consumption on this rom? On CM10 I was getting only 150 free ram!
With same set of my apps I usually get 400 free ram on Samsung roms.

A Slim based rom that's as smooth as an ice cold beer.
Thanks go out to:
Martinusbe - for putting together such an awesome rom
livinginkaos - for your generosity
A word from Martinusbe, the author:
*Welcome to Tipsy* This is something i started in my 'free' time when waiting for GZR Validus or Tesla builds and having some drinks. I just started with a slim base, and added what i thought useful. It grew up to be a fully functional rom, and some people got interested, so i decided to share.. The main goal is to keep it Slim based, i will not add any cm unless Slim does. Since we are now part of the GZR family, maintainers & device support will be the same, any device not in the list, just ask....
Changelog can be found in settings--->about phone
Screens:
Please note: The settings screenshot was taken after the midnight layer was applied. It is vanilla by default.
Install Instructions:
Do a complete wipe (System, Data, Cache, and Dalvik Cache)
Install Rom
Install 5.1.1 GAPPS of your choice
Enjoy!

Downloaded yesterday and I am really enjoying this ROM. Does anyone have any tips on bettering battery life? I have adjusted some options on the Kernel but not a lot gain from that. Has anyone had favorable results with another kernel?
BTW - I normally use my phone for communications; calls, text, email, and little social stuff... no games.
I downloaded jaimethemorris kernel and it is working great!!!

Sorry I wasn't a bit quicker on this, but I'm glad that you are enjoying the ROM, and that you got it figured out
@mrlolli
Hotspot is not working???? Hope this is an isolated issue. "Fingers crossed"
It is a difficult thing to do but here we go @mrlolli. I am on the tipsy again and hotspot does indeed work. Previously I was using a kernel and unknowingly at the time, hotspot did not work because of it. I apologize. This ROM works well. Thank you sir.

In all honesty, my DNA is all kinds of screwed up. It works good enough to see if it boots and check a few basic things, but the hardware is going on it so I can't really check mine for you, sorry

A straight collection for different kernel tunables and parameters coming from linux, redhat and different sources.
This is not a guide. This are collective studies, documentations and different articles that I have compiled and found to be of significant importance in tweaking and improving your cat. I won't include any parameters that I am using because I want people here in XDA to read, learn and tinker for their own because that's what we are all about. Also, some of these parameters may render your angler or any device slower or even crash some apps so be careful and read everything thoroughly, just be noted that you are warned.

QUICK NOTE: Most of the articles and virtual materials in here have conflicting suggestions per kernel values and that is why I want everyone to learn from your own mistakes/tests. There are also some which are pretty advanced and hard to understand so get your nerd glasses ready. And I know that this is supposed to be posted on the general page of xda since this may benefit everyone but as of now, all this parameters I have tested are only within one device, named Angler. Please do message me if I have violated anything in respect with the rules.
LINUX DOCUMENTATIONS:
CpuFreq Governors

XDA KERNEL INFORMATION:

VERY USEFUL KERNEL ARTICLES:

Sysctl Tweaking
Parameters that "may" increase perceived performance and ram management other than cpu:
Swappiness
[*] vfs_cache_pressure
[*]read_wake_threshold
[*]dirty ratio
[*]dirty background ratio
There are definitely a lot more to read, but what I have compiled here are the articles that applies to everyday users. I have not listed anything for configuring and building kernels since it is not what we are looking for. More articles are there and feel free to contribute to the comments section and to everyone's knowledge (of course also my brain, feed it moar), if the article is good enough of a read, I will surely put it in here. Happy reading and tweaking!

Hello everyone, after long studying both kernel and ROMs, I've decided to start building a ROM of my own.
Download
It is recommended to use F2FS.
Recovery - Wipe - advanced wipe - Select internal card - FS options - Check F2FS and swipe.
Remember that you'll loose everything on your internal memory.
Partition configuration i recomend for best speed:
cache --> F2FS
Internal Data -->F2FS
System --> EXT4
Features:
Updated SQL to 3.22.0
New Kernel
Proguard 6.0
F2FS ready for data and cache
ColorOs Blobs (much better quality) -Coming soon
latest webp
root
Compiled with device specific clang and gcc.
More coming soon
I'm a very practical user, and my aim will be to get a very fluid stable system, at the same time with speed and battery, keeping most stock possible with the optimizations which will improve for real our experience.
Thanks
What works for now:
Everything

This is a full treble SaR ROM with custom M105M,MIXED WITH J600F AND J400M IN A LITTLE COMPONENTS vendor (Don't except to boot GSI just yet)
This is a full OneUI 2.0 With Android 10 Ported from Galaxy SM-M105M CORE
Special thanks for @dargod14 who help me and teach me how port android Q completely for this port brother god bless you ever, especial thanks for @asarre for help me in a found some fixes and problem solutions about this port, too for let me use his kernel oneui Q and nitrogen kernel V and other files.
This port like others for me, being a beginner has a lot of value because I face problems that were unknown to me, like when you give a child a candy, to satisfy his desire. I hope not to disappoint dargod14 who helped me a lot with this port and all the others that I will publish, nor disappoint Mr. Asarre, whom I admire,
but I want to give a special thanks to ananjacer and amy from amy roms developers for helping me understand and learn more about the different files inside the vendor to solve various security problems in their keystore and others
for now this is a small photographic preview of what you will find in a few days when publishing the container zips of these ports.
ports that I have been working on for more than a year trying to do something more than a simple port, I have modified several files following several xda posts where I learned how to do it, thanks to those who taught me and supported me at the time, believe me that I have continued working in silence using several kitchens to learn their management and thus be able to deliver jobs using different types of tools.
this port fo now only covert the varian M for j5 prime,in some weeks i lunch others zips added other devices samsung an variants of j5 prime.thanks
