What is the suitable upgraded firmware for my omate truesmart - Ornate TrueSmart

My omate truesmart 1/8/2100 developer edition with firmware 201301219, I think its from 1st or 2nd list shipped devices. What is the suitable upgraded firmware that i can install in it? And from where I can get it?
Sent from my GT-I9502 using XDA Free mobile app

I thought all the early shipping EU devices were 512/4/2100. There was a "working sensors" ROM that Lokifish pulled from another x201 for these and provided to those with one exact version of TrueSmart that worked.
Just to be clear, at this point it is now blindingly obvious that Omate is pushing out indistinguishable hardware revisions of "the" TrueSmart watch every time they order a new batch manufactured for them by Umeox. Each requires a different firmware to boot. There are nearly ten different and incompatible firmwares now each running on slightly different hardware. There is no way to distinguish between them except to try all different variants, and the one that doesn't leave your watch soft-bricked must have been right.
This situation is impossible to support, so Lokifish has deleted his patches and Roms and tool sets and left the Omate Dev scene.

[Q] MediaPad 10 FHD

So, this particular xda-noob got a MediaPad 10 FHD on a trip to China. The nice version, with 2GB of RAM and 1.4GHz clock, not the tuned-down version soon to be released in Europe.
I have plenty of questions, like will I be able to put international firmware (i.e. including Play Store etc) on it, but first things first:
Should that device be discussed on this board? Or should I wait for a separate board for the 10 FHD?

I flashed more than that. I downloaded the "world wide" firmware from the Huawei website and installed it, according to the instructions. Now I have everything I wanted (calendar, contacts,…) and more (all the apps I've installed on the phone) Yay
No rooting, no tricky renaming of files. Thanks, Huawei, for not making an effort to make my life complicated! Now… what is the reason our Chinese friends don't simply download that firmware instead of the Cinese one? Maybe they can't get a Google account, so all this beautiful stuff is useless to them?
Anyway: I'm sorry to say that i don't have a lot of questions at this point. What's a noob to do if everything works out of the box.
BUT: when questions eventually do emerge, is this the board for them?
Cheers,
Martin
CMW recovery and custom ROMs
Does the CMW installation and CM10 guide as described in this forum which refers to the mediapad 7 works for the mediapad 10 as well or would it brick the device? Since both pads called Mediapad I would recommend to open a separate forum for Mediapad 10 and Mediapad 7. Furthermore the official Android release from Huawei does not have google apps installed. Could you please release a guide how to flash it onto it? Thanks guys

hi martin,
I've purchased 3 10 fhd recently. one for myself, one for a friend in berlin, and the last is for my wife. Since we have to use those google staffs I flashed the international firmwares for all the 3 mediapads. But as far as I know there are quite a lot customers in china would like to stick on the stock chinese firmware for several reasons.
1. the development of the chinese firmware is more active. you will get more updates in this firmware.
2. you can still root the chinese firmware and install google staffs onto it.
3. anyway, the experience of accessing gmail, gtalk, youtube as well as facebook and twitter are either difficult or simply just impossible. so for most people in china it's pointless to flash an international firmware. It's impossible to get non-free apps from google play in China mainland as well as in Taiwan because the payment in such areas is not supported.
And there is another firmware for Huawei devices, the Emotion UI, a.k.a. EMUI, which gets tons of fans in China. This firmware is said to be one with special tunes and optimizations for Huawei devices such as D1 xl smartphone, P1 xl smartphone and, of course, the 10 mediapad. Right now there are a lot of fans of this firmware calling for a ``natively-rooted'' version of it, in this way installing google's staff would become easier.
Anyway, I also find this 10 fhd is quite a good choice. It just cost 2700 chinese yuan (~400USD or ~300euro) for the WIFI/2GB RAM/16GB ROM version.
If you are really looking for some interesting staff on your new toy, please think about installing or compiling full-functional linux for it. Right now I've compiled a gentoo linux for it, with x-window. It works as well as on my laptop.

Firmware S10-101u
Today I spotted a newer firmware on Huawei's website, and proceeded to install it. Only to find out afterwards that this was for the 3G version of the tablet.
So: for the wifi version, you want the one called S10-101w, for the 3G version, the one called S10-101u. Using the 3G firmware on a WiFi-only tablet gives an error message "Failed to update modem" that will sit on the screen and not go away.
Skype
I recently tried to use Skype on the MediaPad 10 FHD. Two problems:
1. Video didn't seem to work, neither sending, nor receiving.
2. The microphone volume seems to be so low that it's unusable.
(I've found posts about problems with Mic volume for other android devices. All fixes seem to involve rooting. Anybody tried to root a MediaPad yet?)
Google Maps and Google Earth navigation
Another thing that doesn't work as it should are the gestures for rotating in Google maps and both tilting and rotating in Google Earth.
I can tilt in Maps by sliding two fingers next to each other up and down. I can rotate by sliding two fingers above each other left and right. But the expected rotation gesture of doing circular movements with the fingers doesn't work.
In Earth, neither the tilting gesture nor any of those two rotating gestures work.
Some mobile phones seem to have this problem, possibly if they have bad multitouch support. I remember reading in some form (which I can't seem to find now ) that there are some kernel configuration variables that these gestures depend on.
Hi, there is a new Firmware (from 21.11.12) on the Huawei website.

According to Huawei:
You will be attracted by the brilliant games.
It also has the simple quick applications.
With touch screen you can have ultimate experience.
I always enjoy my visits to Huawei's web site
But does anyone know whether it is possible to flash new firmware without completely resetting the tablet. Reconfiguring Wifi access, mail accounts, beginning World of Goo from level 1, etc. Had that twice last week.

The easiest way is to install the "worldwide" version of the software, instead of the China-specific one, which is on the tablet if you buy it in China. That will not only give you the familiar set of Google apps, facebook, etc., it will also remove chat apps, browsers, games, etc. that are specifically chinese.
Go to Huawei's software download site find you device in the menus, and find the firmware for your device. S10-101w for the WiFi-only version, S10-101u for the one with mobile connectivity.
You will get a large zip file, which takes a long time to download. China is far away.
You unzip it and follow the instructions in the PDF. The English is a bit funny, but they're entirely understandable and accurate. No point in repeating them here really.
The only thing you might want to know before you start: you will have to copy the files for the update onto a micro SD card that you plug into your tablet. So you'll need a micro SD card. No micro SD card, no update. And (unless you do the download with the tablet) you need a way of writing to that card with your computer. So you might need a micro SD -> SD adapter.
Oh, one more thing: the process pretty much wipes the phone. All installed apps are gone and have to be reinstalled. Wifi access and mail accounts etc need to be set up again.
I don't have a 10 inch media pad but the 7 inch one had fast boot, which allowed flashing files directly from PC to tablet with nothing but a usb cable, no micro sd required.
Maybe that works here too?
Maybe it works. Starting the MediaPad with Vol+ button pressed gives me a "Enter Fastboot mode" message. The fastboot program on the computer didn't recognise the device however.

Hurray! With the firmware from 21.11., both problems are solved.
More or less. Maps and Earth work as they should. In Skype, video with the front-facing camera works, but switching cameras makes problems. And the microphone is louder, but audio is really disappointing quality. As also witnessed by the audio recording app.
Anyway, in total the advantages outweigh the problem of having to play World of Goo from level 1 again.
where do I order from China? I want the one with 2GB ram? I looked at pandawill and they're selling the 1GB version. thanks
Hi, ordered my Pad 2GB/16GB/3G at Aliexpress dot com. Very quick delivery from China to Germany within 5 days.
But the Power adaptor is the China version....
My Pad is rooted already and I can use Ad blocker, remove some Software I dont like and so on.
But the Firmware needs some optimization. Not all works perfect ....

For what it's worth, I bought mine on a trip to the PRC, and it came witha NEMA 1 plug. I suppose you got the same. Two parallel flat blades. This is originally a North American standard, which might make it easier to find an adapter. It seems within China, a bunch of different standards are in use.
The Wikipedia article on power plugs and sockets is a good resource b.t.w.

[Q] Omate X and Truesmart

Hi, I initially got the Truesmart through kickstarter and then went on to get Omate X. Hardly used the Truesmart as it did not work with IOS, could only use it as a standalone. Similar situation with Omate X, got excited yesterday when read a thread of an IOS app so I synced it and found something wrong with the Day on the date, tried sync on/off but same result, is it just me ? (pic attached)
Also how do I install app on Truesmart other than ostore ? I am thinking of using it as a remote viewfinder with a wifi camera like go pro or sony, etc.
Any advise ?

Gave up Omate....No support, my SD card which I order during Kickstart is still not sent to me. Wrote to them and asked me write to their support. Asked for order detail which I compiled many times for them but still no action. The charger is also malfunction but they refuse to rectify for me and you also cannot buy as they told me they got no stock and not sure when they will stock it. Hopeless vendor.

Everyone gave up on Omate long ago. So many unfulfilled promises. It's a miracle they still manage to sell watches to uninformed consumers.

Serial Number

Hello, wish you have a good time.
I've got a Huawei g750 t-01. Once I updated it to android 4.4.2 and now its serial number seen in setting > about phone is different from the one labelled on the back of the device beneath the battery.
Is it the way it should be or... ?
Thanks in advance.

Shouldn't happen, may have been different when you got your device, but if you're sure it was the same prior to update then I would be suspicious of that update, was it direct from oem?

Can't remember whether it was the same before the update.
And I updated the device via recovery mode.

Its real unlikely the update changed the serial number, I would assume it was either tampered with if you bought it used or a mistake from factory

Thank you for the answer.
So, would I face any problems?
If I wanna contact the company, is my phone a valid one?
Sent from my HUAWEI G750-T01 using XDA Forums
Its valid as it works but if you have issues down the road there could be warranty issued. If you purchased direct through the oem or official supplier you should be OK, if you bought through a 3rd party like eBay you may not. Either way just hope for a problem free phone

Are the files for the Truesmart really lost?

I've been looking for Stock ROM (4.2) and a 1900MHz baseband but I found nothing but dead links.
Or am I just wasting my time typing here since everyone clicks but no one replies anyway?
I think everyone's simply given up on it.
Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
Yeah, quite a shame.
It's a very nice watch but Omate really dropped the ball on it. Now there's no watch out there that runs Full Android, has an SD Card Slot, an internal compass, and some attempt at waterproofing. I have a Finow quad core but it still really lacks a lot over the TS.
Well, this is unlikely, but if someone can dump me their 1/8 1900MHz Android 4.2 Firmware and Baseband, and can PM me the files, I can toss them $20 over paypal once I get my TS working again.
I have
TRUESMART_MONX_01_07_422_20140513-103530
bt-rom-1.0.0-1GB-8GB-1900MHz
bt-rom-1.1.1-update-from-1.0.0
(TWRP) 1900Mhz Baseband (North America)
Update-OMATE-TS-1-Android-4.4.2-KK
X201-KK-V1.1
If you think any of these might help, let me know. No payment necessary. I can't get the 1900 modem to work on mine, though.
Some one got the ROM for the TS1+ lollipop based that where here in the past? All link are broken....

Flashing HTC One ME (m9et)

So I got this Chinese version One ME. Since the firmware is some China Mobile modded system, its pretty useless as it is (no Google services etc...). From what I read the India firmware (0PLAIMG_HIMA_ACE_ML_DTUL_L50_SENSE70_hTC_Asia_India_1.11.720.6_Radio_1.1506V24P21.2008.0505_HDT[W.T]_release_437175_signed) should work on it. But I am stuck at the upgrade...
The phone is brand new, not used, not setup beyond putting going through the process to start it. I put the firmware on an SD card. I renamed the file to '0PLAIMG.zip' and put it in the root directory of the SD card. I then rebooted in Download mode and get to choose Vol up to initiate the flashing process. I then hit Power key to confirm.
However instead of going through the process, the screen goes blank - It switches off. I can reboot it to the normal system, but I cannot flash it.
I am wondering...
1. is this firmware not going to work?
2. Do I need to do a S-Off (and how do I do this? dont have a Windows machine)
3. Does it need a SIM card inside for it to update the firmware
4. Am I missing something else?
any help much appreciated!

thanks, but as I mentioned I dont have access to a Windows PC. Whats this 'Recoveru' ? Is this a spelling error - meant to say Recovery? If so, where do I find a Recovery that works with this phone?
Thanks for correcting the spelling Error. My God I could Have Got arrested And Been jailed for About Eternity For That or Worse Hanged Till death.
Thank you for enlightening Me with the Gracious Knowledge of English.
You saved My Life And For That. Now To The Post.
Let's First Consider the chinese phones they have a completely different user interface and very often also a different hardware that better fits the Chinese mobile networks and might not work as well outside of China.
Google is also blocked in China, therefore you won't be able to access most google services on a Chinese phone and there is no google app store in the Chinese phone. For that reasons,Chinese phones are NOT SOLD outside of China.
People based outside of China should buy the ROW version of the phone.
Unfortunately, some people buy the Chinese phones, root them, modify them, add bloatware, and sell them online to customers outside of China.
Unsurprisingly, phones that are modified in such a way do not run the original version of the software intended by Lenovo. Cannot be updated to new software release, or if you update them you will end up with Chinese firmware.
Now for your Phone Custom Recoveries and ROMs are available But They Will also End Up Like The ROM.
But If the countries Have Matched Hardware Or The Phones are Specifically Designed For Your Area You might Succeed In Doing So.
But With Some Major Changes To the Hardware could Result In Some Bad Manner.
Now You can Backup your firmware on a PC and try To Unlock Your Phone Then Flash The Firmware.

Right, so you mean it could work, but again, it may not. Perhaps worth trying a variety of ROM's if what I am doing is correct (the flashing procedure I mean). I guess I wanted to make sure I am not missing something in the flashing procedure, as I have never flashed a HTC before.
thanks anyhow! I do appreciate it

Having Exotic Hardware Do Mean Exotic Experience(Sometimes not In a good way)
Having a Chinese Device Doesn't mean You can't flash a Different Regional Firmware On it.Maybe The Firmware files Got Mixed During Downloading(Correct Term Corrupted).Sometimes It do Work.I had a Note 3 a Few Years Ago.I bought it during a Trip to KSA It had a Different Firmware KSA version to be Specific,I just Downloaded My region's Firmware and Flashed It via Odin.No Unlocking bootloader no S-off no storage Protection that is why I do prefer Samsung Or Nexus Over other Companies Due to Their Open Source Software and Having a Unlocked Bootloader and hardware Being Literally Identical In Different Regions.
