My SGS2 gave me max 3.30-3.45 hours of SOT!
Guys u think we'll get CM support?
And rooting trips knox, right? (Noob question but still asking )
BTW i my dad has a note 3 with the S800 and i bought the Neo, i am stunned at how close to the pedigree our phone is, i seriously cant tell any difference, and if they exist they are minimal! awesome value for money, in our country it sells for 310 euro and the Note 3 for 460 euros, imho the Neo kills competition in its class

I compared Note 3 and the neo side by side (exynos versions) and found no big difference.. Just the screen res difference is a visible.. Rest i think it was a wise decision to take this phone and the best part is that it has all the S pen features of N3 which i absolutely love!
Here in India.. N3 sells for ~750$ and Neo sells for ~520$.. So i think it was actually value for money deal!

I too am hopeful that this phone becomes more popular considering how great the phone is at the current price.. I am happy skipped nexus 5.. This phone for me is better..
Yup i saw ur thread about the sources and hopefully we'll get CM in a few months!
Ure rooted, right?
Any particular root app that makes the phone experience a lot better? And does greenify vastly improve ur battery life?
As it is im getting such great battery life.. But urs is another step ahead.. What i noticed is that screen is consuming just 12-15% of my battery life.. AndroidOS and mediaserver are consuming more.. Do u think there's mediaserver drain? This is a bit surprising cos in my S2 screen consumed ~65% of battery..

Hi, I need some battery help, this is my first android phone after running with ios for the last 4 years, I'm using th S3 and loving it however I'm having to charge the phone twice a day. Like I say this is my first android so rooting is new and I unsure what I'm doing here. I've followed plenty tips to save battery life but it's still running down too quick.
After 3 1/2 hours of very little use my battery is at 70%
Standby has zapped 24% of that
Screen another 24%
Internet 21%
System 12%
OS 8%
These safe the main culprits for the battery use, I understand you can do something when you root the devise, any help would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks
This should be in the Q&A section, but please be specific as to what exactly you were doing? (Gaming, browsing in 3g or wifi, etc.) If you just got the phone however, just wait for about three and four days and the real battery life would start to emerge. This is the time when most phones can actually last for almost a day or two. Another thing is that you should download Better BatteryStats and find apps that give the most wakelocks. Just take a screenshot and upload it here if you need help. And live wallpapers and widgets do cause some unnecessary battery drain.

maybe something stopping your device from going into deepsleep.

I think he's talking about underclocking the max cpufreq to 800 mhz when you're sure that you're not going to be using the device for a while. I think it's a pretty good idea actually, but certainly not practical for everybody especially heavy users like me

Yeah. I sometimes do that when im not near a charger and my battery is dwindeling. Anything less than 800mhz is pretty bad though when your used to the rapidness.
Looks like im selling this badboy anyway. Hopefully get a lg nexus next week. It seems to me that to acheive proper butteryness you have to use toichwiz ui. None of the cm10 or even when i use nova or any other launcher. None of are as smooth as tkuchwiz.Im mad for mods and flashing so think its time for a switch.

Thinking of the same too actually. But based on the rumors, I hear more nexuses coming from other OEMs are to be actually revealed rather than just from lg. Although if the nexus 4 really does come with just 8gb of internal storage without a microsd slot then I'm sticking with my S3. Although I hear that new parts of code are already starting to show up in the Origen-board-something for exynos processors, this might turn out to be a gamechanger for our problems with cm10 or other pure android goodies.

Is there any way to increase the battery life on locked bootloader drastically, without undreclocking?Scripts maybe or some thing? In a noob! And control the temperature. Cause i hardly get around 14hrs of battery life and the cpu temp is at an average of 40 degree Celsius!
Please Help.
Thank Youll.

ICS (.587)
ROM: [All MDPI][Port] Orignal Xperia T Rom [ V-6.0]
Locked Bootloader.
Check whether deep sleep is working or not. Turn off gps, wifi, data, if not in use. Reduce brightness, haptic, blah blah blah. And also check running apps, kill what not in use, task killer will help.

Actually im not shocked to see the battery life but was shocked to see the avg. temp of 40 degrees. Check the apps taking most of your and disable them and there's no magic you can do on locked bootloaders but search for some scripts for ur mobile....the basic steps are listed by chepoz so follow them. And i'm not scaring but just warning you that due to the overheat problem many phones' touchscreen became unresponsive so after some equal intervals just take the battery and let the battery and the phone cool down just to be on a safe side...
Hope I helped,
Regards,
Abhinav
Okay, so if you can help me out with the scripts it would be really good!
Appart from the deep sleep thing(*dont really know what it is*) , Ive already done what chepoz said, it hardly helped.
Thanks a lot
Since I never faced such problems as my battery life never ended before 20 hours and max temp. reached is just above 35...so I can't help you for the scripts right now but now as u raised this question...so I'll just search here and let u know asap...

I always have my packet data on and for about a year I never went over 10%/hour while browsing net outside of WiFi range.
In my case I narrowed the problem down basically to "screen on" state. Suddenly it multiplied power consumption even with packet data and GSM off (level of brightness doesn't matter, simply being on did this).
It persisted through ROM changes (reverting back to stock, different ICS, GB and JB ROMs). I'm not alone in this, as I found dozens of similar cases all over the net, but no solution. Some suggest hardware malfunction, like motherboard short-circuiting.
@halfblack :Well maybe I'm mistaken. But that's normal on some ROMs. My bad! Never faced such an issue.
Sent from my Xperia Neo V using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I'm sorry if I sounded aggressive. It's just that inability to deal with this problem is frustrating.
And you are surely right about some ROMs, especially ICS-based, having minor or major battery issues. UHD should, in my case does, have it under control though.

there's a lot you can do, either get a new custom rom, try a different kernel, go for stock based ones, it's always good to start there. check whether you have gprs or data activated which usually causes drain. how much your battery is being used also dictates towards the drain. if all the above is ok, the kernel might be the issue for rapid drain
get screenies so we can guide you better...

The stock roms and stock based roms are not at all battery friendly...I'm on moProject42 4.2.2 and my battery hardly drains even if I leave wifi on without switching on wifi optimization. My battery drain is about 1% every 7-8 mins if wifi and screen are on.. I always have around 180mb free ram (which I think almost no one gets after 7-8 hrs of use in ICS based stock roms), use SmartassH3 CPU governor on just 806MHz and still don't face slightest lag in any game I play (Temple run, subway surfers, MotoGP)
The point is there is loads of bloatware running in such roms that battery drain is normal..
Most of the stock based roms and stock roms lack lots of battery and performance tweaks...It's time to switch to cyanogenmod

as far as i remember, ultimate hd 5.0.1 has offline charging...but if you are getting a bootloop then i'd recommend a re-install or if u've installed a custom rom then do the same..but if it still doesn't work then try flashing a different rom...
A word of advice..
1. CM , AOSP and AOKP roms are under continuous process of beta testing..So dont judge I'm on aokp 4.1.2 for now and wifi is still buggy but i can manage(i mean android 4.4 is out now)
2. Try roms based on stock but are completely stripped and are still customizable..eg. JJ Hybrid 3.3 rom. Ultimate HD is very good but apparently a lil too much for our neo v Happy Flashing!:good:

4.1.2 official roms give better battery performance also 4.3 official roms sucks for battery (like a drinking a battery)

Well u can't rly drink a battery. But i get wat u mean It depends on the rom. How much the dev customized it. Not gonna name and u know why My gs3 on a 4.3 custom rom last me abt 1 day with abt 1 hour of youtube. And 6 hours of total on screen time.

Hmm. I think 4.3 will be kinda not so buggy steady rom to go to alr. Samsung fixed it. Rooting will not help with the battery. But u could do things tat REQUIRE root to save TONS of battery. TONS as in like increased in hours of battery life. If hardcore enough, days...

One Power Guard app from play store tat directly goes into ur kernel to save batt. It isnt like any other battery saving apps tat stays on background and use more batt. This one goes straight into the kernel. It requires root.

Hi, asking about most stable rooted ROM for daily use for my RN4 MTK!
Thx in advance
I rooted my phone in order to try some customs roms...
Ended up with messed modems, region and whole bunch of sh*t.
At the end,i instaled Global Stable Rom MIUI 8.2.1.0 as this one has the best battery life for me (7-8 hours of SOT) and evrything else is really good for me...
Latest MIUI9 (9.5.1.0) is ok with battery life as well but MIUI8 is better for me and my use...
Hope this could help you ☺

Its mine on miui pro 9.5.2.0
This is my SOT with aosp on redmi note 4 mtk
But if u tell me that the miui 8.2.1.0 can do 7/8 of SOT i install that
Pls tell me if this news is true
Both screenshots are from MIUI 8.2.1.0 for Note 4 MTK...
Second one is my personal best from few months ago where i did 6.5h SOT and still 18% of battery...
No additional charging in between...i take it out in the morning from the charger when i go to work and plug it in charger in the night when i go to sleep...
If the day is "weak" sometimes when I go to sleep i still have 60% of battery so in that case, I don't plug it in for charging...

Its good bro. Mine aroound 4hours sot
20% down and 100 minues of SOT...by constant use it should be around 500 minutes which is roughly 8h of SOT...
My phone is around 18 months old,so battery is not brand new [emoji4]

usually using more mobile networks how many hours of active screen can you do?
I tested a lot of ROMs: the 'original' from en.miui.com, Xiaomi.eu, AOSP, Epic, Multirom, MiuiPro... in my tests the more Stable was Xiaomi.eu based on a Stable ROM, it's the 'original' with some tweaks to improve the system at all (including performace, battery and remove a lot of chinese things). The better in battery use was AOSP, but some apps doesn't work (BW Ruler for example) and is based in a old release, so I think was almost unsecure to use if you are a heavy user like me.

Not sure because 9-10h a day i spend at the office where i have wifi... recently we built a completely new building and mobile network reception inside the building is very low (some of the time i'm completely without any signal at all)... that's the main reason of 70%-30% ratio...this 30% is when i'm out of office or home...i use both sim slots (one for private and one for business number) so all emails are going through this phone...including viber, whatsapp, facebook,Instagram, LinkedIn,gMail etc...

I have tried a lot of different ones as well... even mesed up something (mostlikely modems) so sim2 was not functioning at all for some time but at the end, original global stable suits best for me.
And i prefer MIUI8 over MIUI9 [emoji4]
