[Q] AllianceRom Build1 (T-Mobile) Problem - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

Can anyone help me? I flashed the Alliance build1 rom, and the screen will randomly go off and not come back on until either I continuously hit all buttons non-stop, or if I remove the battery and reboot. I just flashed the Blaze kernel to see if that might help, but it didn't. I have no idea how to fix this. It really sucks!

@BeansTown106
Hopefully he sees this, but it is best to post your problem in his thread under development for that particular rom.
Also, did you do a clean factory reset before flashing this rom?

Yes I did a factory reset.

I can't post in the developer section because I'm a new member, but I did do a fresh install. Factory reset, then wiped system separate (Just to make sure), then flashed. Thanks for tagging Beans for me

Needing help with Fluxii kernel

so i recently installed the rootbox aokp rom with the aroma launcher. i opted for the fluxi kernel instead of the siyrah kernel. im wanting to tweak it to get the most performance out of the kernel but im unsure of which settings to change in the xxtweaker app. it wont let me post to the actual thread since i havent made 10 posts yet. anyone got any advice?
Edit: problem resolved. thanks wonner for all your help.
Did you look at the 2nd post of Fluxi thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26350599&postcount=2

yea i looked at that thread and that helped alot on some of the settings but the rest i couldnt find help on like tweaking the gpu and cpu to get maximum output. i currently have the cpu running at max of 1500 and min of 500. but i havent touched the voltage or any other settings other than setting the govenor to performance. the other settings get to be a bit confusing.
working on posting more. up to 8 now.

Something tells me you used the i9100 version instead of the i777 version.
Where is the i777 link? I'll have to completely unroot then root agaijncuz now its stuck on the galaxy s 2 load screen

Can you get into recovery and reflash AOKP?
Is that the full root box aokp for i777? Or is it just the kernel?

Full root box AOKP? I'm not sure what that is...just flash the entire AOKP ROM. It will flash over the i9100 Fluxii, then you can download and flash the correct version.
I downloaded the root box aokp rom which is what I thought was the i777 version. I'll re-download this version when I get back home.

Are you talking about Task's AOKP? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574718 If so, just reflash it in recovery. Reflashing AOKP uses Task's CM9 kernel and it'll overwrite the i9100 version of Fluxii you installed.
reflashed aokp rom. now im getting numerous process errors. android keyboard has stopped working, rom control has stopped, process.android.phone has stopped. have went into CWM recovery and re-installed zip and wiped davlik data, partition data. only other thing i havent done is factory reset. i even unrooted and re-rooted to get it back. now im getting the i-9100 boot logo with the yellow triangle.
Yikes. Did you happen to make a Nandroid before flashing? If not, you may have to return to stock. You also might want to get on IRC and try to get someone to help you real-time.
i just connected it to my computer, removed the other roms that i had and some other unneeded files, like the i9100 files, did a factory reset, re-installed the rom from recovery, reinstalled gapps. so far i havent gotten any process errors. still have the i9100 boot icon but i can fix that with the triangle away from the market. sucks that rootbox isnt going to be made for i777, i checked the thread and bajee confirmed he's only doing it for the i9100 or the s3. so im s.o.l on that. is there a way to get the fluxi kernel though? or is it stuck with whatever rom ur using?

Um, how about going to the fluxi thread, downloading it, and flashing it? If you don't know this stuff, you shouldn't be flashing anything at all.

You did ask a very simple question. And the very simple answer to your very simple question is readily available in the forum stickies.
If you think flashing kernels an flashing roms are completely separate processes, you don't understand as much as you think you do. Did you know that every time you flash a rom, you flash a kernel too?
And no, I don't know everything. But having knowledge isn't the key...the key is knowing how to acquire the knowledge you need.

[Q] Unroot For Selling.

Hey guys,
Im having some questions.
Got a new phone and i am going to sell my S II to my uncle but he want it as it comes in the box.
-I am running Slimbean+Dorimanx and it has some reboot issues.
-Now i understand that i need to flash an original rom (and kernel?).
If you have to flash an original kernel also do you do that first or first the ROM?
-Is it possible to go back to ICS, or is this risky to brick the phone?
-And last will the reboot issues automatically be fixed with original ROM?
I've searched alot of post but can't find answers to these questions.

kidding, get a stock rom from sammy and let the flash begin.
Try not to flash a 4.0.4 tho, that's some nasty kernel.
you could also flash jb leak (don't tell him it's a leak), just tell him that is the latest SO for Samsung Galaxy S II and the newest devices fresh outta the box's got it. If he goes for it you can pump the price up and I'll get my 10%...lol

Flash the ROM first. Your phone will restart, but will be stuck on the galaxy SII logo. Turn off phone. Reboot into recovery (which will be the stock 3e one), and do a factory reset. No need to wipe caches, dalvik or fix permissions.
Edit: You can also boot into recovery from your preset custom ROM, before flashing the stock ROM via odin and perform a factory reset. It doesn't matter when you do it.
Also, please remember to keep re-partiton unticked and DO NOT use the .pit file if it is there.

[Q] Black Logo Screen problem

Unfortunately I cannot ask questions in specific thread, so I would like to do it now.
I have a problem after flashing LS8, specifically Wanamlite v.14. For some time phone works perfectly, until it suddenly switches off. I am able to power it up, but it freezes on the first screen with logo and model number. I am however able to access recovery.
And so I did - accessed recovery, flashed rom again, unfortunately, the only thing that worked was to do a full factory reset.
It worked... for a while. Then the story repeated itself. This time I did exactly the same, but started digging: some reported, that it might be a problem with kernel, which is Philz newest 4.00 b22. So I changed kernel: Dorimanx 7.44 - got serious overheating problems and the same probem. Jeboo 1.2 - the same. I then discovered, that eg. Jeboo has something from Philz kernel, so I flashed earlier version of Jeboo 1.1f. I am currently at this stage. Oh, btw. my chip is insane, if it changes anything.
Can anyone please tell me if you had similar problems, maybe not only users of Wanamlite, but other roms (which would confirm problems with kernel)? Can anyone tell me if there is any solution? Or at least does anyone knows what is happening? It is getting really weird, as I have been reading post of people reporting identical problem as I have, but devs seem to avoid the topic... Or maybe you guys are working hard to find out what is the problem - in that case a simple one line statement "we are aware. working on it" will suffice. Please, I am starting to be desperate here...
Regards.
Try Siyah kernel v6 beta4. I am also using WannamLite and have no issues at all.

Thank you for the tip. I found the kernel elsewhere, however is there a thread about siyah v6 somewhere here, on xda-developers?
I will test it against problems I encountered and report for future readers.
The question still stays: what happened to me and all these other people?

Yes it is, try to always download from xda.
You've experienced conflict between ROM & Kernel. Always check the custom ROM thread and read it upside down so you can spot potential issues regarding this kinda conflict.

I did it, however, which is weird, only some of people reported it and dev, who in this case is Wanam, did not reply.
And I know, that it seems to be a conflict between rom and kernel, but how is it possible that not everyone had this issue while flashing Wanamlite with factory reset and kernel included in the rom? Nevertheless, I am sticking with Siyah for the while and see what happens.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
I have the same issue, it seems with LS8 whenever I reboot, there's a 50-50 chance my phone will "die" and I'll need a complete wipe and rom install
If I do a hot boot within Titanium Backup, guaranteed my phone will brake.
This happens with Siyah, PhilZ and Jeboo, it's not really a kernel issue, now a Wanamlite's issue since people on NEATROM also said they suffered the same issue, there's some problem with the firmware, seems that whenever the phone doesn't shut down properly, it won't start again.
Wish I could provide a log, but since phone totally dies, I don't know how to retrieve it.
@op: you got a siyah q&a thread sticked in the Q&A section.
Why don't you guys flash stock while you sort this out?
Custom ROMs will be updated soon now that ls8 is out. Therefore kernels will be updated as well.

I'm having the same problem too. I have been using the Stock LS8 and Philz Kernel (4.00 b22-b30). I stopped using Siyah b4 in the previous JB Stock Leak because I had isues with the camera freezing.
Any suggestion?

[SOLVED][Q] Will re-flashing a ROM return the kernel to stock?

I am running Paranoid Android 3.0 and today, flashed the 'Siyah S2 v5.0.1' kernel with the hopes of overclocking.
After rebooting, I am just getting 'com.android.phone has stopped' and my phone completely freezes.
It wasn't until then that I read on the paranoid-rom forums that PA only really works with the stock kernel.
Therfore, I am just wondering if I re-flash PA, will the kernel return to the stock kernel?
Also, will I have to do a factory reset when re-flashing?
Oli.

Yes if you gonna reflash the rom it will return to stock kernel .
And it'll not gonna erase your data only if you wipe something like data or a factory reset.

[Q][SOLVED] Stuck on 'Obtaining IP address' / Cannot connect to WIFI

Hi,
NOTE: This is not a question. I just wanted to post this to help anyone in the same position and may reach this page after searching on google.
My phone cannot connect to my WiFi network. For a few days I have been tirelessly searching for a solution to my problem.
I tried factory reset, wiping cache/dalvik, flash stock rom .etc -- nothing worked!
I was flashing the latest roms for my device 4.2 and 4.1 which is jelly bean OS. It still did not work.
But then I tried flashing the previous generation operating system. I flashed 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, and it worked. I can use wifi again!
So, I hope this helps someone out there
Give it a try

Yes I just flashed a jellybean rom afterwards.
In the end it turned out that the issue was with foxhound rom, so I just use cyanogenmod instead now
