[Q] Unable to access multi tasking - AT&T HTC One (M7)

I found myself with this problem yesterday. I am unable to access the multi tasking menu with the apps. My home button works fine, my back button works fine but as soon as I try to double click the home button the menu with all of my apps in the background does not come up.
Any obvious solution to this that I am forgetting?

[Q] Q: muti tasking button replace menu button?

Dear Developers,
I got a quick question:
is it possible to change the function of the menu button to the muti tasking function instead?
if so is it possible to be a APK file format and installation for it to work on a stock phone?
if no, then i guess it has to be rooted? if thats the case, does that mean most applications will lose the menu button? cant be the same as the Nexus phone where all applications has a on screen menu button?
OR just do a swap between the two functions? holding down the home key gives the menu function whereas the menu function gives the muti tasking function.
thanks in advance,
Best Regards,
E
It's possible, but I don't know how the menu button will show up then, and having that ugly HTC-esque navbar with one button is not the way it should be...
sorry, it i just me or anyone else finds the menu button pretty useless.
holding down the home button to bring the multi tasking up is too slow in my opinion.
would be great if someone can just switch the two functions of menu and multi.
thanks tho

I dont find is useless.
What i find useless is you can get the same menu just by pressing on your homescreens or longpress there, so 3 ways to get that menu up.
On the matter on what button brings up the task manager, i really dont care. After a few days i got used to it being behind the home button.

[Q] Menu button stops working

I've read some posts where the menu and back buttons stop working. In my case, it's only the menu button. Both times have been while I was in Dolphin and wanted to exit the browser via the menu button. The only way to restore it is to reboot the phone. Could Dolphin itself be causing this behavior?
Thank you.

[Q] Force show the virtual menu button?

I remapped my capacitive menu button to Recent Apps on ICS. However, I've seen somewhere before a mod or something that forces apps like GMail, etc to show the on-screen menu button (I think it's called overflow menu). My problem now is that the apps still think that I have a menu button so it's hiding the overflow menu. How do I force ICS to show it? Or how do I make it know that I don't have a menu button anymore so it should show the virtual one?
I've done it long ago but my hard drive crashed so I can't figure out what I did before to achieve it.
This is on ICS CM 9 Xperia Active. Thanks in advance!

Back button, recent apps not working

Hey there
this is not my phone, its my friends phone
So phone's back button and recent apps aren't working.
He said he didn't do anything nor did the phone fall.
Phone is not rooted.
Any idea on how to fix it ?
Or any alternative softwares for recent apps and back button ?
@MJ999:
Back-function by tap on right capacitive button?
Recents by long tap on hardware-home-button?
So simple home and left menu-button work?

To ask again: One swift tap on the hardware home button (= home) works fine?
I'm not aware of any app to replace these functions that work without root. With root you could use e.g. LMT Launcher and use it to simulate the button pushes.

Hardware home button works fine
It's the capacitive touch that isn't working, it doesn't illuminate.
He is saying he got an app from Play store, but only limited to back button.
On the keypad type *#0*# to open the factory test menu and press "subkey". The screen will go black. Now press the menu and back capacitive buttons. If the screen changes colour you have an os issue. If the screen stays black you have a hardware fault.
I wish I stole my HTC M9.

launcherhijack+nova launcher bug, please help

So I downloaded launcher hijack and nova launcher for a new Amazon fire hd 8 tablet because I thought the home menu was kinda confusing and I wanted a traditional Android home screen instead. All was fine in the beginning but then whenever I would hit the home button to get out of an app it show the home menu for a second but then would send me to the tabs menu instead, even though I didn't tell it to do that. Then once it's in the tabs menu no matter what buttons I push it just keeps sending me back to the tabs menu. One workaround that only works like 25% of the time is that once it sends me to the tabs menu if I click the tabs button to go to the last opened app and then hit the home button it will let me go to the home screen, but like I said, that rarely works. So I was wondering if anybody else has experienced this bug and if anybody could help me fix it as I'm not sure what I did wrong. Thank you for your time.
