identifying a model - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone, so i found this Xperia Z2 at sale and i am hesitating to buy it, which model is it ?
which country ? taiwan ? haven't seen this package before in taiwan, in the past i bought a korean Galaxy S and it was incompatible with every rom, kernel etc,
i don't want to repeat the same mistake, would this model be compatible with roms and kernels from the XZ2 thread ?

so u should ask for picture from sides of package

If it's second hand ask for a pic of the service menu-> model info.
Also, doesn't Samsung have a million different models with different hardware (like processors). I thought all z2's are the same except different mobile radio antenna. All roms should work as expected, just make sure the phone operates on your carriers frequencies.

[Q] Korean I9100G or A Vietnamese I9100 ??

I've been searching for a non-"G" version in all stores , currently I found a non"G" one but it's made in Vietnam .All other "G" versions are made in Korea.
I really want the non-G one but I'm confused being that made in Vietnam
any help ??
I have an Australian Telstra model i9100t (same as i9100 except for modem/radio) made in Vietnam. No problems.

Thank you
so did you compare it to any Korean made device ? I mean according to built quality and screen resolution/brightness ?

Any one else can share us his advice ?
Have compared it to a few others but didn't check where they were made. Haven't seen one with any serious issues.

[Q] Anyway to check version?

Hi,
I was wondering if there are different versions of S3's like for S2's (ie, Singapore differ from US etc), because i want to buy an S3 online from a reseller in which the title goes by Samsung Galaxy S3 Unlocked WHITE/BLUE. Is there anyway to tell or how to check which version the seller is selling?
Thanks!
Was there a model model number?
I typed this by hand.

If its being sold online it is most likely to be the GT-I9300 international version. However be sure of the credibility of the online re seller. There have been cases where people reported to have received fake S3's..
Yes, there is:
this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alxdroiddev.gs3identity
it will not only tell if it is a genuine S III, but it will also tell what specific model it is.

[Q] Android from Japan

Hi,
I'm planning to buy Xperia Tablet Z in Japan and bring it to Europe, but I'm worried about several things.
1) How is with warranty?
2) What about menu language, recovery menu language - will it be in Japanese only?
3) Custom roms - will be there problem with custom roms? Will I have to search for roms on japanese forums?
Is there anything else that I should be expecting when buying one of these from Japan?
thanks in advance

Nope . I guess it'll be the same everywhere
Just check the radio frequencies of the phone, I don't know if they are compatible with the European ones, since you'll buy it in japan...

[Q] Refurbished Korean Note e160s/k/l for $140. Worth it? Any tips?

Hi M8s, I've seen for cheaps this model of the SGN on Aliexpress (link here), T first could seem like a total steal, and the phone even if not rooted works well on the European networks (at least I think).
The problem is that they don't specify if it's the model S or the model K or the L (I don't know the differences). I've seen threads here about other Korean model, the E. Are these models' ROMs incompatible with each other?
If I get to choose, which model should I get out of these 3?

Trying to find out if I can flash an official UK Firmware on a USA Galaxy S9+

My sister bought me a Samsung Galaxy S9+ for my birthday but because she lives in America and I live in the UK I'm having issues with certain apps, especially Samsung Pay which won't allow me to use it as it only recognises me as being in America due to the Firmware restrictions, I can sign in fine, my account is registered in the UK but as I said, it's the Firmware restrictions so I can't use it at all.
I'm hoping someone knows if it's possible for me to replace the USA Firmware with a UK Firmware version? It's caused a lot of havoc in many different ways for me but I cherish the phone since it was a birthday present from the sweetest sister ever! ?? ♥
Congratulations on your new phone from your sister! Unfortunately if the model# is G965U or G965U1, you will be limited to US firmwares. The global model has a different processor and the firmwares are incompatible.

Thanks, I had a feeling it would be bad news but that's worse because it actually is an SM-G965U1 ?
She also sent me another phone, it's a BLU ENERGY XL, the OS is terrible on it, I don't suppose you have any recommendations for a firmware I can install via the SD Card on that do you? ??
Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it ??

You're welcome, but sorry for that news. I can't think of any other options for Samsung Pay either, since the US model doesn't currently have a root method. As for the BLU ENERGY, I don't know anything about it so the best I can recommend is look it up in the forums here on XDA, or maybe another similar site? Good luck!
