My bro accidentally clicked on OTA upgrade. I have bootloader unlocked , rooted P765 with cwm 6.0.2. I searched this forum for solutions and got some.Unfortunately none worked for me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2247371 - this method did not work . my phone also has some issues with USB i guess. Everytime i connect to pc , i get device not detected error. screes attached.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40423549&postcount=2 ----this did not work. same as above.
i also tried with exitrecovery.zip . It ran successfully from CWM but everytime i boot, phone still goes to CWM recovery mode.
exitrecovery has following code
busybox echo -ne "\066" | busybox dd bs=1 seek=4107 count=1 conv=notrunc of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p8
I did trial and error with mmcblk0p till 1-20 with no success.
Here comes the saddest part...I also went to LG service centre. He also couldn't help. That guy told me motherboard is dead due to rooting.
I am sure that my p765 is very much alive.
I can go to Software upgrade mode on my phone, but my pc doesnt recognize it. I have latest LG drivers installed on my system.
NOw i think only way out of this could be a script to flash from CWM. Please help me!!.
I tried flashing other roms like Superlumina,Avatar. Also tried Ubuntu touch with no success. Still goes to CWM.
I am on JB India V20A.
Thanks in advance.
screen of device not detected. I have LGUnitedMobileDriver_S50MAN310AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.10.1 on my system.

You need to install fastboot drivers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2119090
Turn off the phone and remove the battery. Download THIS and exctract it to C:/. Open device manager in windows (Rigt click on Computer > Manage > Device manager) and connect your phone without the battery to pc via USB cable.
'This' link is broken... u have the files brother?

My P765 got stuck up with CWM recovery after an OTA update. I flashed some custom rom's but still it does end up in CWM recovery only.
Could you please upload the CWM zip to flash the stock recovery. So that I can get to back to my P765.
I have been searching in all the forum. Finally found this to get solution. Thanks in advance

The following will work with all OTA boot loops to recovery. The guide is for p765 but it will work with all variants. If you flashed a custom ROM trying to fix the problem, please restore your stock rom backup. Also, if you still have artas182x locked bootloader recovery (or you removed any system apps), the update will fail, but you will be of the loop
what kdz are you currently on? I made the zip but i need the extracted p765 recovery.img.
If you have the kdz please extract the recovery.img (look at my signature on how to extract it).
i could give you the p760 20b recovery.img but I think it would be best to use the recovery.img of the current kdz you are on (to be on the safe side).
Note: if this doesn't work, you will need to use the unoffical fastboot. So you might want to get fastboot setup before trying this. Actually, you probably won't need fastboot, but you will need to restore your custom recovery.
Or use the longer method (takes more time, depends on your download speed), LG mobile support tool.
Once you get the stock recovery.img for your kdz, Open the p765_stock_recovery.zip and copy the 3-recovery.img into the zip file.
Note: Don't change the name of the recovery.img or it will not work
The recovery must be named 3-recovery.img
Place it on you sdcard and flash with cwm and reboot.
Or sideload into your phone with cwm and your computer
Code:
adb sideload p765_stock_recovery.zip

It's really easy....
Search the xda for fastboot, download this file for your system (windows or linux) - install the device-drivers (Windows only)
then plug in your mobile and reboot into bootloader... fastboot
Open terminal or Cmd - test if your mobile is connected by typing in "fastboot devices" in the path where fastboot is placed
If it doesn't say "waiting for device" you are conneced
Download the cwm recovery for your device and copy it to the path where fastboot is placed
Then type in "fastboot flash recovery *name of your downloaded recovery-file*"
Wait if the prompt is back - usually some seconds only
Done
Reboot bootloader ... start recovery ... flash your ROM ...
Done too

Hi
as long as I know mobiles there is no way to flash anything without booting up to fastboot. You need energy to do something with it. Your car won't run without fuel too!
But did you check your battery? You might charge it with a different wire or/and charger (yours might be defect)!
As soon as this is checked you will know if your mobile is dead or still alive.
You have to know: to flash the wrong recovery usually cannot break your device. I dit it twice and my HOX still is running properly.
This is why I ask for your battery - you need more than 30% battery life for a secure flash!
If it works you have to boot up into bootloader and check the Code name of your device. Only with this you can find and flash the matching recovery and ROM for your device.
If nothing works you might give it to a professional for a try to repair it.

but it doesn't work also :silly:
but i rememberd some thing , there was rom for andriod 4.4 for galaxy mini in my card and while i was update recovery i chose by rwong the galaxy mini rom instead of the recovery image and while install the rom it told me faild then i chose the recovery image and install it and told me faild also .

u should flash the stock rom using odin and booting ur phone in download mode which can be done by holding the home and vol dwn buttons and powering up the phone.
this way also not working
Uhhh that sounds really bad - my ideas are off. You should search the forum for "unbrick device". As soon as you installed an unmatching ROM, your boot.img is the wrong now. That's a piont where I cannot help. Too less experiences.
Sorry

I want to root my device but now I don have my pc here so any process of rooting galaxy s3 without pc (adb/odin)
I want flashable zip file for rooting is there any way....?
I want root access only for some apps like chainfire .firewall.....
If you already have a custom recovery, then yes. You can. Usually, when you get out from the recovery, and you are not rooted, it will ask you to root. You select yes and it will root for you
It you are running custom recovery, I think it will be a bit harder.
Anyway, this thread had to be moved to Q&A.

The best answer to my questions was provided by BCSC, THANKS! Worked great!
Follow these steps exactly and you will have the latest Recovery running. You do not need a PC for this method.
1) Download correct Clockworkmod ot TWRP (touch or regular as you wish) for your device
2) Rename it to recovery.IMG and place it at the root of your internal sdcard
3) Download and install terminal emulator from the Play Store
4) Run the terminal and
type: su (press enter)
Then type: dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18 (press enter)
Be sure that you have typed the above code correctly. You will not see a confirmation. It is done almost instantly.
5) Reboot into recovery and enjoy

And this OP should be moved to Q&A
This won't work since su command won't run successfully coz there is no supersu app.

hi,

I'm rather new to this, please have patience with me.
Trying to install Cyanogenmod on my P760, I have unlocked bootloader and rooted my phone. However when I try to reboot into recovery with CWM my phone restarts and then an android robot with a red warning triangle appears. I've searched a lot for answers but unfortunately without success.
Using windiws 8.
Would be kind if someone here could tell me how I could fix this?
You have to flash a custom recovery after unlocking bootloader then you have to boot into recovery by pressing vol down home + power button... only then you can flash a rom

Phone: Kyocera Hydro XTRM (metropcs)
Stock rooted, stock recovery
Have nandroid
I messed with root files thinking "I can just go fastboot and flash it if i need." Sadly I think this phone has no fastboot. Computer doesnt detect phone in recovery but it tries to detect it as it is bootlooping. Not enough time for it to detect fully or to adb install something.
Does this mean my phone is straight up bricked?
Hey guys... My xolo q500 is bricked. It stucks at the logo and doesn't go further. I was trying to install cwm recovery. But cwm was not available for my device so i tried to flash cwm of some other device from the rom manager. It was of xolo q700.But now my phone niether boots up normally nor boots in the recovery menu. It stucks at the xolo logo. I googled but i found unbricking methods for mediatek devices via sp flash tools but my device is qualcomm based so that didn't worked. Please help me how can i unbrick my device?
