About a month ago I safe rooted my Samsung Galaxy S4. I never ended up doing anything with it, and I never had any issues. Then about a week ago I got an update for Android 4.4.2 and now I can't use Google Play, YouTube, Google Drive, or anything with a Google account. I get the "Can't establish a good connection to server" error. I know it was my device because a friend of mine, who never rooted his device, had the same update and everything was working perfectly for his Samsung Galaxy S4. So I waited a while and tried the connection again. I tried on my internet, his internet, my data plan, and my school's internet, and every time it was the same error. I was starting to get a bit aggravated. I went online and I saw ways to fix it by checking date and time and confirming they were correct, doing a cashe and data clear, and hard resetting my phone. My phone no longer had root due to the update, but when I did a hard reset I still get the Samsung Custom logo with an unlocked lock when I turn it on, also the issue is still not solved. I do not know what to do and I am very upset because I thought this would be quick and I need to use my phone. How do I get rid of the error and how do I actually reset my phone. Remember I cannot download any apps because of the error, and I can't fix the error because I am assuming the update screwed something up on my phone. I was told safe rooting does not void warranty, but I have a feeling I was lied to when I safe rooted. Please help me fix this stupid problem, I do not have the money for a new phone.

Hi everyone,
I recently began experiencing network issues on my Vibrant (would not work on 3G, only EDGE) which did not go away with any troubleshooting steps.
Yesterday, it crapped out completely and refused to connect to the network at all. No calls, no data, just a "Not Registered On Network" message. It wasn't the SIM card either.
I did a soft reset, hard reset, factory reset, and ended up flashing the latest Bionix rom (1.9?) with Voodoo and the whole deal. That still didn't work so I called T-mobile and requested they replace it under warranty.
So my questions are:
1) The phone is not only rooted, but flashed with Bionix 1.9 (JAC UV Voodoo). Will that cause problems with the warranty?
2) If yes, would flashing to a stock ROM fix that (disable Voodoo and restore from Odin)?
3) If the warranty is VOID, what will TMO do?
I asked the rep but she wasn't very helpful at all.
Thanks!
You coyld just delete everything on the phone all apk all apps and send it in all there going to so is reinstall there info when you send it back I don't think that they communicate with eachother about stuff like that if they did customer service would know more about flashing roms and actually be able to help more when something gos wrong other than a series of resets
The guy on the couch
I would flash it back to stock via odin... why take the risk they might say something. Its easy takes and takes next to no time to do.

That's what I'm thinking too. I'm going to do that. Does that clear root though?
@willsnews, I'll try that too. I don't want any trace of my stuff on the phone anyway.
replacement phone
ezspassov ... mind sharing the status of your replacement? my tmo samsung vibrant (18 days old) crapped out on the 12th within 24 hours of receiving the JI6 update from tmo. phone will no longer boot. got it to boot a couple of times but all the apps force close even after a user data wipe (guessing it's a hardware problem). tmo was to express ship out a replacement but today the order status was changed to BACKORDERED! did you get your phone or is it also backordered?

Yes, flashing the stock rom through odin will remove any system traces of root. On the other hand, make sure your smart and delete any evidence manually through the file manager on your internal and external sd card. For example: Don't leave a bunch of zip files lying around named "Root", "Bionix rom", etc....Be smart...

That's crazy because I am having the same issue actually. I had to order a new one.
Anyway, the loyalty rep assured me it would be easier for me to just do a warranty exchange (and assured me it would be brand new, which I doubt very much but eh whatever) instead of of sending back this one and doing a whole new order and waiting long times for my account to be credited and all this crap.... anyway I went along with it. Well I called today to get the tracking number cause she told me to and found out it was on backorder. Hoping it isn't on backorder for to long cause I want to get to enjoy my phone fully.
I asked if I could just send this phone back, they could cancel the exchange, and then place a new order (the backorder is only for exchanges they told me) that way I know for sure I am receiving a new phone cause I am still under the 14 day buyers remorse period but after a 20 minute wait, yes 20 minutes, they came back and said they couldn't place the order at all (I was going to pay with my cc).
So I said eh whatever just go ahead with the exchange in hopes that it won't be to long before they come. I know the rep told me they've been on backorder since the 13th, smh.
So..
So what if I had flashed nero beta 2 and the phones rooted and not only can I not enter clockwork recovery anymore but my phone isn't recognized on the USB ports so I can't Odin back to stock. I get the "USB device not recognized" even though I've manually installed all samsung vibrant drivers. How would I go about erasing all the data now? Any help would be great cause I'm not sure what I can do with the phone now.
I bought my s3 in March of this year, and everything was working just fine until May. It's an awsome phone and I love it. However, since May, my phone no longer connects to 4g EVER and the 3g comes and goes and never stays connected for more than 10 minutes while in use. I've NEVER even come CLOSE to reaching my plans provided 2.5GB of data, so I know that's not the issue. The phone has never been dropped, or wet, as I am always very delicate with my phones. I have never placed it too close to the TV...
I contacted Boost mobile. They gave me a long list of things to try. I have tried EVERYTHING: making sure the mobile networks is checked, preferred network setting CDMA/LTE, soft reset, clear browser cache, update PRL, profile update, software update, firmware update, ##72786#, and even did a factory reset. Nothing helped. Boost said there was nothing else they could do for me, and that I needed to contact samsung.
Samsung said the only way for them to find the problem is for me to send them my phone, and wait 2 to 4 weeks for them to revise it and send it back. That's not an option as I need my phone monday through friday for my job. (UPDATE: I got so irritated with this problem that I went ahead and bought an LG Volt, since I didn't have the money to buy another galaxy. It's nice but I don't like it as much. I'm still afraid to send the Galaxy into Samsung. They have expressed to me that if they can't find an issue(just my luck), or if they find the issue to be my fault(IE I put the phone too close to a credit card magnet or some dumb crap like that), then they will charge me not only for the parts and labor, but for the return shipping... and we all know that they'll charge me way more than the phone is worth.
I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and if there's anyway to fix it without having to send my phone in to samsung? I have been told, also, that I could try reflashing the phone to it's original firmware and software, but I am afraid of screwing the phone up since I've never done anything like that before.
Thanks!
Hey guys, I've bought the s6 edge 2 days ago, Im getting this error notification: “Unauthorized actions have been detected. Restart your phone to undo any unauthorized changes.”
how do i get rid of that pop up message? I've tried both soft and hard factory reset, even went to the extent to reflash the phone at the samsung store, even they dont know whats going on.
i also factory reset the phone leaving it with factory apps, ( i did not install any app) just to see if it would show the same error message, which it did again every 5 mins
how do i fix this problem? I've searched online, its like a common problem and it happened before with other guys s4 and s5,
thanks!
s6 edge unauthorised actions have been detected
hi i have this problem as well on a brand new edge, i havnt done anything to alter phone, tryed factory resets and installing no apps etc and this message keeps coming up in the notification bar, i have spoke to everyone supplier (tesco mobile) manufacturer (Samsung) and security software developers knox and no one will give me any help other than handsets ganna have to go back, which is ganna break my heart installing all apps and spending hours setting phone up, i believe that probably all s6 edge phones have this problem and we need an update to security policy or software anyhow, if someone can help or find out anything let me no please, im not interested in rooting phone and potentially voiding waranty.
Unauthorised action
Hi, I am having exactly the same issue with my brand new s6 edge from within the first hour I had it. It's driving me nuts, can't find anything on the Internet on solutions just that the issue has been around before in the s5. Weirdly my wife got an s6 edge same day as me and doesn't have the problem at all, she didn't activate the knox app. I got a white one and my wife a gold one, not sure if there's anything in that but worth an ask. Come on Samsung sort it out.
mines a uk white too, im trying to hold out a couple of weeks before sending it back as im going away, i just hope an update comes through, cause i dont want the hassle of sending it back.
ok , Mine is happening on the white one is it same as for all of you? ,
My white one 64gb have the same problem!
Is this only a issue by white one?
well its looking that way but i cant believe that the different colours were flashed with software any different, update us samsung please.
Seems related with preinstalled knox.... but maybe not.
I have the same issue. I couldn't find a solution unless to send the phone back or root it.
Is there any diagnostic tool to identify the application triggering this issue?
well got excited this morning got a Samsung software update, but guess what unauthorised actions have been detected still came up i think a security policy update is what we need, im ganna try and message Samsung again.
I have the same problem. It seems there are many phones affected. The Samsung Hotline say: We know it, but we have no solution. Please exchange you phone at your dealer.
I have both the T-Mobile S6 Edge 128GB white and G925I 128gb white I just received this morning. I have this issue within an hour having the G925I but never had any issue with the T-Mobile version since I got that one last week. It's super annoying.
Seems like its an issue to some of us, but not to everyone or else this thread would be flooded
I have the same issue with my s6 edge in white. It's SO annoying ?
does anybody have this same problem in black s6 edge or gold?

Same problem here S6 Edge Black... Would love to have an update / fix for this other than rooting the phone and taking it back...
I had the same problem. Spent hours trying to fix it and spoke to Samsung on the phone for quite some time. Apparently there is no fix and I was told to return the phone. I have a new one coming in the mail today and am crossing my fingers that it does not have the same problem.
be really interested leanne to know if your new phone is ok?
So far it seems that this one is fine. I updated to the most recent software, cleared cache and am using smart switch to reinstall all my stuff. It's been going for about 45 minutes and no security issues as of yet.

Please keep us updated some more. by the way , did samsung already released a new update?
thanks!
Wasn't a new update, but since the phone was made. Still doing well, no problems at all.
Hello, I have a Sprint LG G4 and I recently downloaded an update. After it restarted it got stuck on the Sprint startup screen for about 40-45 minutes so I decided to take the battery out because I could already tell something went wrong.
Keep in mind, I have not rooted or flashed a rom on this phone as it is completely stock.
I went to the Sprint store and after the guy punch stuff in on his computer for about 20 minutes, he told me that the "tech" could fix it by factory resetting the phone. The only issue is, I would like download my data off the phone before I reset it and the people at the Sprint store didn't know how to do that.
I there a way a way I could get the files off of my phone before resetting it?
Hello All,
New to the forum here, and not nearly as advanced as some of the posters I have read, but I am fresh out of options and need some assistance. I will try to be brief but my tale is a bit long.
I purchased a phone from Samsung, but through a trade in program through AT&T. The phone arrived and I sold it to someone on eBay as unlocked, but turns out it was network locked so I had to accept the return. I got an unlock code from AT&T and it wouldn't work, and then somehow the phone was thrown into factory reset mode along the process.
I am now dealing with an "Unable to access web browser for Wi-Fi sign in due to an Unauthorized Factory Reset." This phone has never actually been logged into, and as far as I know is still network unlocked. I have tried clearing the cache (thrown crap at he wall at this point).
Any direction would be appreciated here. I am stuck with this brand new phone, which is essentially a paper weight.
Assuming you have tried another factory reset and it didn't work, the last thing you can try is either flash the firmware with odin or contact samsung.
> This phone has never actually been logged into
Maybe your buyer logged in and then didn't remove his account. That might cause some problems with factory reset attempt without account credentials (I'm not sure exactly what happens if you try to reset someone else's phone, but I know Google won't let you end up with a useful phone afterwards for theft protection reasons)
