Since it has been discovered that the AT&T One is identical to the international, except for the radio, is a separate forum really needed?
I find myself gravitating to the international forum anyway since that's where the ROMS and meaty information are.
The bootloader is unlockable, and ROMS for the international phone work fine on ours.

I would agree with this - this isn't a One X/One XL situation, and there's no sense dividing our community. I think it will actually generate more confusion this way.
Kinda have to agree here

The radio isnt different either lol. I was working with turge testing a symlink mod so we can use new radios without s-off and it worked. It took a while, thought it wasnt working, The radio version wasnt changing. Come to find out the stock ATT radio was the exact same radio as the latest WWE (world wide English) Radio from the latest base that all the devs are using. After pulling the radio from an asian ruu and installing it, it then changed versions. It was actually working the whole time but the radios were the same so it didnt look like it. That made me LOL. Yeah gotta watch out for them Nigerian roms haha.. Goto the ATT development section at look at your rom choices.. There's 1 and it doesn't even work. All the roms from the One dev section do work. They even ask your for your carrier during setup. The only thing i miss is the ATT status bar icons.
only problem at this point is radio and firmware.
being s-on dont really have much options and some international roms are starting to require it.

So essentially it's a fake flash? Flashing to a different partition and then unmounting the radio partition and using the mdm partition as the radio? Interesting..

Onexl Icons are far to small the One uses xxhdpi icons ( 76x76) Onexl uses 50x50. I used the stock AT&T icons. Here is the zip. Already tested myself, but backup just incase https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/31377968/AT&T_data_icon_fix.zip

Just wondering if anyone knows whether we can use the International HTC One roms for our AT&T HTC One....I've noticed they have a lot more active development on their forums compared to ours and a much wider selection of roms too.
I assume it would be the same considering they both have the same internals, including the processor, etc. but I just wanted to make sure if anyone knows / has tried it before I take the chance and brick my phone.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help, greatly appreciate it!

I actually prefer trickrom with the mods zip. It is much more customizable.

So it seems all international ROMs have some issues in regards to the AT&T setup. With Trickdroid, Android revolution, Renovate etc. you can select AT&T during Aroma, but you are left with issues. My main main issues is not able to use the native hotspot function. How do you guys work around this? Do you use other alternatives for the hotspot or do you just install the international setup?
I'm running this on my AT&T One, no issues, hotspot works.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265820
I'm curious as to what happened in my situation. I live in a thriving LTE location where anywhere I go I get full LTE strength. When I first got the device, as stated, I had full LTE signal everywhere I went. After a few days I flashed TrickDroid (and have flashed every update henceforth) and just completely lost my LTE connectivity. I absolutely love TrickDroid, but the best signal I get now is HDSPA+ and I've been searching far and wide to figure out why I have this problem. Other AT&T users that have flashed TrickDroid report no effect on LTE capabilities.

Is it possible to install the 1.29 update on an ATT HTC One? Would I require an unlocked bootloader to do that? Are there repercussions I should be aware of?
You can flash any International ROM once you're unlocked/rooted/custom recovery. All of which are most likely based on .29 WWE firmware.

The whole point of having software versioning in increasing order is to correspond to new developments. I have hard time believing the camera, beats and any other "improvements" made in 1.29 is in AT&T's 1.26.
Surely if this were true someone would have some proof. Let's see it?

Doesn't require anything special. Just takes them getting the tuning right. Then they bring the intl version up to date. Hence them getting different version. Remember they released first.

I'm still calling BS. It makes absolutely no sense that one version would be different than another for the exact same development. Anyone that believes otherwise is just naive. There is proof one way or the other, it just has to be revealed.

Why not. Do you know how product cycles work? They just don't make all the phones at one time... Theres the pre production phones which were at the announcement and early reviewers. Then they would of started the intl version production soon after if not it was already done. If they decided to make an adjustment during the making of the intl ONE it's easier to continue the product run and fix with a ota than it is start all over... US versions have to be picked over before production. So they would of had time to tweak software.
So no it's not naive. Saying there's no way is naive .

Personally I rather one of our smart forum members to give is the 411 on the different binaries within the firmware. As I have said before, the proof is there.

I personally believe the "Google Play Editions" are a rip-off. You lose 90% of the functionality (especially with the S4) that the phone was originally intended for. I had the same dilemma when I was in the market for my One. I ended up going with the AT&T black one. Its a great phone (almost futureproof) and the fact that there is the option to go back to Sense from Vanilla sweetens the deal
Hope this helps!

With S-OFF you can do anything. I've gone from stock to GPE to ARHD and back again several times. You can do it all with AT&T (and cheaper with contract).

As others have said, Yes you can install the different ROMs in the AT&T HTC One but it depends on the experience that you want with your phone whether it is Sense or pure Google. I personally like the Sense experience and if there are any features that you want from the Google edition you can probably add it. I like the Zoe camera app but also wanted to try Google's photosphere so I just installed photosphere now I have both.

I just purchased my S5 yesterday (April 17th), but I regret selling my M8. I thought the S5 would have more dev support and more ROM's than M8, but I guess I was wrong. On the T-Mobile M8 Android Dev section there is a GPE ROM and a RUU to covert the M8 to stock android.
I was expecting like 5-10 ROMs on the S5 already (as was with the Note 3), but I guess I'm wrong? Or can I flash ROM's meant for the non T-Mobile S5?
That's my main question.
Where are the ROM's?
wow really?
Impatient much?
You do realize that this phone came out less then two weeks ago.
And I am sure that not that many people have jumped to this since there were so many people that develop that are already on the s4 and the s5 is not that much of a upgrade for them to switch.
Not to mention that the AT&T and Verizon cariants are not rootable yet and more developers are typically on those networks to begin with.
Give it a little more time for the others to get root and developers to move over and get used to the different setup and roms will come.

You can flash the international ROMs but you'll lose WiFi calling. Remember that this device is already on back order for many potential purchasers. But custom ROMs will come soon enough.

Haha I could care less for WiFi calling, my DSL is 2MB/s anyway, so its not like calls through WiFi even work.
That was my question, so now I will begin downloading Echo ROM.
Last question, will I lose 4G LTE flashing these ROM's?
Thanks!

Well just saying the M8 has more ROM's and even stock android flashability (made that up )
Seriously though, there is a GPE ROM for M8 that allows you to flash back to stock still, and the RUU Google Play Edition, which essentially converts the M8 on T-Mobile (and other carriers) to a GPE version of the M8 permanately.

I haven't tried it, but I would assume it works fine as long as you keep the T-Mobile firmware. There is some discussion in the general thread about people running the international ROMs as well as in the international forums, look around. I think we'll start seeing custom ROMs built from the T-Mobile base sometime next week at the latest, I'm content with root for now.

There are no gpe version of the s5 so that makes getting that much harder. And really only 3 roms for the m8. The stock, the gpe, and venom (modded stock).
Not a great amount there yet.
Just need a little more time.

I agree, but the M8 Android Dev thread still has more threads, when it had a locked bootloader! You can argue since its easy to unlock etc, but come on. I remember when the S4/Note 3 had dozens of ROM's in like 2 weeks.

I'm thinking of upgrading as well, but coming from carrier specific devices (the Samsung Infuse, ATT only, and the Nexus 4 on Simple Mobile), there hasn't been different variants. So the T-Mobile devices is compatible with ROMs built for the international variant? Would the kernels for it be compatible as well? The only thing that would be lost would be the carrier specific additions such as built-in VOIP? No differences in partition layout?

Just flashed the Echoe ROM for my T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S5, and I can confirm I'm NOT getting 4G LTE. I'm only getting HSPA+
Not sure if I need to add an APN or what, but wanted to let you know that 4G LTE does NOT work immediately after flashing that ROM.

It did flash? Wonderful! Please let me know if the issue with 4G is kernel/radio based, or just due to a missing/selected APN.
Many thanks in advance,

APN shows T-Mobile, so I believe its just a kernel/radio issue. It's up to you if flashing a custom ROM is worth no LTE.

You need to verify the T-Mobile APN. Maybe the settings are not for T-Mobile LTE. I had the same issues after my flash but I am on AT&T. Just make sure the APN settings match that of T-Mobile LTE. Carriers have more then one APN.

Did you flash International S5 ROM on ATT S5? Which ROM did you use? How is the experience? Is everything working?
Thanks in advance

I am currently using AllianceROM. It works great. No issues.
I seriously doubt that since there is no root for the AT&T variants
