Heimdall / Pit file Download - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Got a new Note 3 yesterday.
Has anyone gotten Heimdall to work? It won't download my pit
Keeps saying
Failed to transfer pit..
Failed to send ending packets
It detects it fine but no pit download.
Any ideas?

I think you may be correct on that.Think You! I had to use Odin on a friends computer to root. Then used Moblie Odin to flash Philz. It worked great.

You could have used towelroot apk to root it without computer and then flashify to flash recovery. ... Or mobile Odin but it is not free .... But don't need computer to root now

I think I read that error means you flashed a ROM in Odin after unlocking the bootloader, which you aren't supposed to do.
Did you unlock the bootloader?

Looks like you tried to flash a ROM while having a locked bootloader. You have to unlock before you go off trying to be cool with a flashy new ROM.
Cbc is right. Locked bootloader. Need to unlock it first.

Um I did the download however I have not been able to get odin3 to recognize any of the files. none of them are .MD5 files and, I may be wrong but, I thought they had to be .MD5 files in order to be read by ODIN. Please help, My phone in its current configuration is useless; all I have is the yellow triangle with the verizon message.
okay I'm an idiot. I wasn't paying attention to the the download, but I it failed and now my Phone says "firmware update failed please connect to Kies and select restore" of course Kies cant communicate with it. any help would be much appreciated.
thanks,

Which file are you using? Try the alternate restore file without the bootloader and the pit file. If that doesn't work, I remember someone saying that the route 66 file and the pit file worked.

[Q] Need Help Please!

I can't figure out what to do. I accidentally wiped system when using safestrap and now my phone gets stuck at samsung boot. I tried to flash my MI1 with odin, and it says write failed, and now every time I start my device it says Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
I tried going into kies but it gets stuck at connecting even though all the drivers are installed. I really don't know what to do right now, and need to fix my phone. Can anyone help?

Check this thread out. The OP had a similar issue and was able to get it resolved. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2546372
Other than that, maybe you can try re downloading the Tar files. A lot of people have had issues with bad downloads.

Thats not good news...first make sure the md5 of the odin tar is valid. If its not then from my experience that error message correlates with the emmc starting to go corrupt. If the md5 us not the issue then I would suggest you make yourself a debrick image immediately because the only remaining solution you have left to try is to rewrite the partition map using a pit, and flashing the bootchain along with the stock odin tar...if you dont find another solution then ill give you more indepth instructions and a link to the proper pit file. I do encourage you to seek other solutions though as I havent encountered this error in some time and someone may have found a solution im not aware of. Consider my suggestion a final resort.

Fused 5 means you need to flash either mj7 or mk2 .
I'd do the full wipe at this point. If one doesn't work right at first... Try the other. Do you recall which your phone was on prior to this?

OK well if you can get back into download mode then flash the MDK tar . I'm not really sure if you were flashing a rom in Odin or a custom recovery but in any case if all else fails.... Odin mdk
Sent From My Verizon S4
With the new knox security trying to flash a prior firmware will trip the flag so it's advised to be careful when flashing images via Odin. Flash an earlier version that doesn't take and you'll lose the warranty on your phone.

If it came with VRUAME7 then you didnt use the Loki method to root. If you want help you should post more logs/info. Like your last sentence "Ive tried using mj7 and mk2 as well but I can't find one that will work" can you elaborate on that? Saying you cant find one that works suggests you've found ones that dont work. But what does "don't work" consist of? It could be "write error", md5 mismatch, "PIT partition not found", "SW Rev check fail..", wrong file etc.
Check that the Odin tar file name says "VRUEMJ7" or "VRUEMK2" in it and ends in tar.md5 and make sure the md5 matches. If that fails then post back with logs/info that will actually assist us in helping you troubleshoot

So I followed the directions to flash the system.img.ext4 file and I already extracted it and am uploading it using heimdall. I have the pit file ready and I put the system.img.ext4 in under SYSTEM, added then removed it but it won't let me flash once it's removed and if I do flash with it on there it says ERROR: Failed to access device. libusb error: -12. I have deleted kies and reinstalled Samsung drivers, any ideas

Driver issue 99% of the time make sure you've uninstalled all Samsung drivers. Use windows' control panel option to uninstall programs and make sure all kies, samsung, and verizon related stuff is uninstalled. Then reboot the pc, let your phone install the drivers for your pc, and try using a different usb port with the stock oem cable. Also make sure adb isn't running in the background

Converting Zip to Tar

I see on convertfiles.com you can can convert a zip file to tar. I have a stock rom zip that I need to flash by Odin once I get a usb jig to put my hard bricked Samsung Galaxy 4G LTE into download mode. If I converted it to tar would it work when I tried flashing it on Odin? Has anyone tried this before? I really need a stock rom tar and I don't see any for the Virgin Mobile Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE, just that stock rom zip.
No problem

Use Google, there is more than enough tutorials on how to flash using Odin/CWM/TWRP.
I did do a bit of Googling for you and found this, please do verify the MODEL of your phone is "SPH-L300" before using these files:

I did a lot of Googling and stuff prior to everything but from my understanding just the Sprint version was the SPH-L300. I see SPH-L300 on the back of my Virgin Mobile Galaxy Victory with the battery out under model. I guess it doesn't matter what I flash that says SPH-L300. I still do want to test the zip to tar conversion though but if it doesn't work I'll have a tar. This is just under the assumption the usb jig does get me into download mode. But even after that I need a Windows computer to use for Odin. I can try the library
Hmmm

Unfortunately I only have a Macbook computer that works. I'm aware of JOdin but it hasn't ever got a PIT file for me. I've tried Heimdall and it also needs a PIT file if I remember right. I've also tried Odin on vmware with no luck, as well as converting Odin.exe to .app with Winebottler. I've even put the Samsung drivers into the same folder as the Winebottled Odin and it still doesn't recognize anything. If I can't get Odin working on a library computer I think I'm screwed. They block installations but Odin doesn't actually install anything so I have some hope it can run

[Baseband/Modem] NH7 Odin flashable

Hey guys, here's an Odin flashable of the NH7 modem, for those who wish to remain on their current setup but still benefit from having the new baseband.
The steps to flash this are as follows (make sure you have the Samsung mobile drivers installed so that your phone can be recognized by Odin):
-Disconnect your phone from the PC, if it's connected.
-Completely power down your phone, not reboot, or boot into download mode, but power down.
-Power back on your phone into download mode (vol+down, power, home)
-Open Odin (3.04/3.09) and connect your phone to the PC. At this point, Odin shoudl say <<Added>> or something of the sort.
-Uncheck "auto reboot" from Odin.
-Load up this NH7 baseband tar image into the PDA (3.04) or AP(?) (3.09) section of Odin, and flash.
-Once complete, disconnect your phone, remove the battery for around 5-10 seconds, then power your phone back on into download mode.
-Check "auto reboot" from Odin.
-Flash again, then let your phone auto reboot back into android.
-You should either receive an "android has been upgraded" message or you can verify you're on the new baseband by checking settings>about
-Profit

Thanks for this

OP updated... I posting a different link, same file. I've had one person post success with it, so it was probably either a bad upload or my site not completing downloads.
@freeza sup bud. I have a question if I have mobile Odin and flash this will it affect my phone while I'm on NC5 or update the baseband then flash the stock rooted NH7 rom then reboot

Unless Mobile Odin had changed recently, I believe that modems are about the only thing it won't flash correctly. PC Odin is the way to go for modem flashes (until someone puts together recovery flashable modem).
