Hey guys, here's an Odin flashable of the NH7 modem, for those who wish to remain on their current setup but still benefit from having the new baseband.
The steps to flash this are as follows (make sure you have the Samsung mobile drivers installed so that your phone can be recognized by Odin):
-Disconnect your phone from the PC, if it's connected.
-Completely power down your phone, not reboot, or boot into download mode, but power down.
-Power back on your phone into download mode (vol+down, power, home)
-Open Odin (3.04/3.09) and connect your phone to the PC. At this point, Odin shoudl say <<Added>> or something of the sort.
-Uncheck "auto reboot" from Odin.
-Load up this NH7 baseband tar image into the PDA (3.04) or AP(?) (3.09) section of Odin, and flash.
-Once complete, disconnect your phone, remove the battery for around 5-10 seconds, then power your phone back on into download mode.
-Check "auto reboot" from Odin.
-Flash again, then let your phone auto reboot back into android.
-You should either receive an "android has been upgraded" message or you can verify you're on the new baseband by checking settings>about
-Profit

Unless Mobile Odin had changed recently, I believe that modems are about the only thing it won't flash correctly. PC Odin is the way to go for modem flashes (until someone puts together recovery flashable modem).

Here is the MJ4 firmware in a flashable tar. It includes bootloader, modem, baseband, etc.
This will NOT wipe your phone or data. It does not flash a ROM, only the firmware. This will update people to the MJ4 baseband.

I'm sure you can flash it with Mobile Odin, but it's not a recovery flashable.
Careful with mobile Odin. Last time I tried bit with a modem it didn't work so well. Had to reflash whole tar from desktop to get phone back in working order. Unless they fixed it since then.

Yes it did. Maybe I should try it again, perhaps use a regular usb 2.0 cable? For some reason this 3.0 cable doesnt get along to well with my computer. First time rooting it I almost bricked it because it kept failing then I got the firmware upgeade encountered an error message when trying to boot my phone up but luckily finally it worked and all was well.
I am supposed to be putting this in the PDA slot of odin and leaving the file zipped exactly as it was when I downloaded it, correct?

The stock cable should be adequate if not good quality. Compared to the Epic 4G and cable for that I had before...
Flash .zips. Odin .tars .tar.md5 .pit or whatever it is properly. Make sure you have the correct .tar in the pda slot and use an updated version of Odin3 (3.04) and leave all the default settings as is, aside from the PDA .tar, hit start.
Edit: Also make sure to check the MD5, maybe you got a corrupt download.

Fused 5 means you need to flash either mj7 or mk2 .
I'd do the full wipe at this point. If one doesn't work right at first... Try the other. Do you recall which your phone was on prior to this?

OK well if you can get back into download mode then flash the MDK tar . I'm not really sure if you were flashing a rom in Odin or a custom recovery but in any case if all else fails.... Odin mdk
Sent From My Verizon S4
With the new knox security trying to flash a prior firmware will trip the flag so it's advised to be careful when flashing images via Odin. Flash an earlier version that doesn't take and you'll lose the warranty on your phone.

The OP says that it said "Fused:5" means he is on MJ7 or MK2. It may have been on MDK and Loki'd at one point, but it's now MJ7/MK2 and needs to be recovered using one of those ROM images - NOT MDK.

If it came with VRUAME7 then you didnt use the Loki method to root. If you want help you should post more logs/info. Like your last sentence "Ive tried using mj7 and mk2 as well but I can't find one that will work" can you elaborate on that? Saying you cant find one that works suggests you've found ones that dont work. But what does "don't work" consist of? It could be "write error", md5 mismatch, "PIT partition not found", "SW Rev check fail..", wrong file etc.
Check that the Odin tar file name says "VRUEMJ7" or "VRUEMK2" in it and ends in tar.md5 and make sure the md5 matches. If that fails then post back with logs/info that will actually assist us in helping you troubleshoot

Driver issue 99% of the time make sure you've uninstalled all Samsung drivers. Use windows' control panel option to uninstall programs and make sure all kies, samsung, and verizon related stuff is uninstalled. Then reboot the pc, let your phone install the drivers for your pc, and try using a different usb port with the stock oem cable. Also make sure adb isn't running in the background

Look at this like taking the OTA, you should Odin this first to get your modem, baseband, and other firmware up to date. Then your phone will be ready for the NC5 ROMS without issue.

Also, you can flash recovery from Odin, back up, then inject root from TWRP or PhilZ CWM. That would be one of many ways to inject root.
Let me know if you would like links to the files you wish to use.

Look at you go, doin' your parents proud! Running your first thread like a champ! I tried to thank you, but apparently I blew my load of 'em this morning. Not 5 minutes after I posted it was day off did I get called in for an emergency, that's what I get for bragging.
Does anyone have a working 4.4.4 download link?

There is a link in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint/general/4-4-4-inbound-t2871557
page 5 or so I posted the md5 of what downloaded here when my phone pulled the update. So if that link posted in the thread has matching md5 I'd say the file is good.

The file that Omar04 posted is definitely corrupt. I tried many different way to open and fix. So someone else will have to post it. I will soon as I get the update.

Go and check the md5 from @Omar04 upload and see if it matches the one I posted.
Everyone that's tried to extract the update that their phone has downloaded has had the same issue.

md5 I got for update is:
D2EC5D31A1F786CA7E95D7FF63D9893C
unpacks \update\META-INF\com\android\metadata with contents of
Code:
post-build=samsung/hltespr/hltespr:4.4.4/KTU84P/N900PVPUDNH7:user/release-keys
post-timestamp=1409206131
pre-build=samsung/hltespr/hltespr:4.4.2/KOT49H/N900PVPUCNC5:user/release-keys
pre-device=hltespr
Then overwrites this file with an over 2mb elf file of the same name.
I'm thinking that binary takes care of the rest of the unpacking..? It would seem so I guess.

I downloaded the OTA, but when I reboot it fails in updating. I am on rooted stock nc5 with an engineering bootloader. what do I have to do to get the update? my knox is tripped already.

You need to Odin stock NC5 bootloader then flash back to 100% unrooted stock.

No you need to flash the stock bootloader. https://www.dropbox.com/s/tef6vr2iuieasqq/NC5_OEM_BL.tar.md5?dl=0
Then flash stock Unrooted NC5 because the update will still see that you were modified and not stock. There is two places to look if you are official. 1st place is under settings about phone. The other place is in download mode. If both places don't say official or Samsung Official then it won't update. Here is a stock one click nc5 rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51848277

Thanks, i'll flash the bootloader first (hitting bootloader icon in odin) then the nc5 rom next (hitting pda in odin). the last question is when I flash nc5 rom i won't actually lose anything right? such as my current config or files.
Thanks,
John
First thing I forgot. In order for the bootloader to stick do a cold boot into download mode. To do that completely shut off phone the wait about 30 seconds after the button lights turn off then hold power+home+volume down button at the same time until you see the Samsung logo.
And about the one click I would back up everything! You might loose stuff. Can't promise. I used the one click earlier and didn't loose anything. But you I took a chance. I also made a nandroid backup.

I hope we can get some fast kernels soon, I tried 2 and they wern't great, now I'm back to stock again.
I tried it 3 times each on 2 different devices using Odin 3.09 and each time it fails during the system write process. However, I tried the NK4 tar file and it worked no problem. Is it just me?

Try pulling your battery then going to DL mode from totally powered off. May take a couple flashes to stick as well.
