As I said earlier for installing non signed drivers you need to use what is called as test mode
This can me enabled by starting the cmd with admin rights then type
Code:
bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON

you're not allowed to install the .inf files directly instead you will have to click the device name then click upadate drivers followed by the path to the inf folder

Create an empty image cache.img. Usually cache doesn't stop the boot of the device so using some other phone's cache.img or make one yourself...

Help for porting

Hi, together.
I have a snopow m8 ( it's a device with mtk6589 ). I've tried to port Star N9500's rom ( miui v5 4.5.9 ). It's all ok, unless a little problem. In this device there are three buttons: SOS, PTT and Torch. Now, the device not detected these buttons. I replaced the usr folder but nothing. Thanks a lot. I entrust to you.
PS: sorry for my english.
Hi
What recovery tool did you use to backup your stock ROM and install new one? CWM? Can you please upload file?
What tutorial have you followed to adapt MIUI?
I want to experiment with this phone too. I have 20140405 ROM and it has TONS of issues - from broken OTA updated, crappy GPS EPO servers, not working YouTube, NFC doing kernel stack errors to frequent self restarts. I saw that 20140624 is available on www*needrom*com/mobile/snopow-m8 but MIUI also looks interesting,

I use to backup my stock rom with mtk-tool and install cwm 5.x.x . I install the miui 4.5.9. I' m porting this n9500's rom to snopow m8. It's all ok, but I miss three function button. Tomorrow , maybe, they send me the snopow's stock rom. I uploaded the file soon as soon.
I use this guide: en*miui*com/thread-13383-1-1*html

I think you should first debug if: those buttons do not send events OR events are not associated with any action/application. In ADB shell run...
Code:
getevent -lt /dev/input/event0
...and press flashlight button. On stock ROM system reports received event:
Code:
[1405204621.434233] EV_KEY 00fc DOWN
[1405204621.434242] EV_SYN SYN_REPORT 00000000
[1405204621.583587] EV_KEY 00fc UP
[1405204621.583590] EV_SYN SYN_REPORT 00000000
Now if you have the same result in MIUI then pressed key is recognised but system doesn't know what to do with it. In that case simply use tool such as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850464 to associate hardware key event with app.

I gave up on YouTube app - no one knows how to get it working...
I removed whole app and I'm watching YT through Opera - works perfectly.
The phone is totally not worth the price. The amount of software bugs - broken OTA, broken NFC, Google apps problems, frequent restarts, NVRAM issues, EPO fails, and so on - is incredible.
BTW: Which ROM version do you have?
I've tried to port the rom MIUI for Star N9500 and my Snopow is totally brick now... When the touch interface installation of MIUI appeared, it ask me too choose my screen drivers. I select all because i didn't knew anyone choose. After a successful installation, i wiped the cache and reboot. Now i don't see anything but many horizontal stripes... And there's no more recovery. help :crying:
I think the solution is to download original rom from SP flash tool but the phone is not recognize by my computer, even with the USB VCOM drivers.
What do you think?

Try entering META mode - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943442
Your device should be then visible for USB VCOM.
I'm not expert in unbricking so if you have any questions please ask there. But also please come back here later and share your experience.

I think this is called "Factory mode" on Snopow.
Turn off the phone. Unplug USB cable.
Press and hold volume down.
Press and hold power.
Do NOT release both buttons until Factory Mode appears. Its bunch of chinese letters, should look like this:

Well, reading my previous post about tracking events using ADB and following those instructions seems reasonable
You have to diagnose issue first to figure out how to fix it.

Asus Zenfone C bootloop

I tried to flash latest rom from Asus website to my new Zenfone C because it had a weird issue, it came the user interface in taiwanesse, but when trying to change to english, it stayed in taiwanesse, so I wasnt able to setup it in first place.
Then, it came to my mind to flash the latest rom, and I used this guide in absence of a Zenfone C guide for flashing:
http://en.zenfoneasus.com/zenfone-recovering-returning-stock-rom-downgrade-clean-update-guide/
I did all the steps listed there first, and then tried the steps but with the red marked steps, flashing the dnx and ifwi also, no result.
The problem is that now im stuck in a bootloop, and cant advance from there, the Asus logo stays there forever.
What happened during flashing is this:
When I sideloaded the update.zip containing latest rom from Asus website, it said:
-Installing update
-Device image SKU: ww
OTA image SKU: WW
and suddenly after that it restarted, showed a huge Intel Inside logo that I never saw and then went to the dead android image. After waiting a while, the phone restarts, this time only showing the Asus logo with the Intel Inside logo beneath it (not the Intel Inside logo only that I mentioned earlier), and stays there forever.
I dont know what else to do, I dont know if Im doing something wrong.
Were you ever able to fix the problem?
No, until now, no

First Download: -
USB Drivers: http://www.asus.com/in/Phones/ZenFone_C_ZC451CG/HelpDesk_Download/
Asus Flash Tool v1.0.0.11: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7cZB2l2IKlKMENKUWlVaHJ3ZHM/view

The Process: -
Get your phone to boot into fastboot mode by pressing [vol -] button and power button simultaneously for few seconds.
Connect to your PC and install USB drivers if not done already. The phone should show up as an "ASUS Android Composite ADB Interface" in the Device Manager.
Now, open ASUS Flash Tool :-

It should detect your phone with serial number and blue orb in front of it.
Select your phone model i.e. ZC451CG
Choose if you want to wipe data or not. I chose "Wipe Data" since I had everything backedup on asus web storage.
Click that box icon and browse for the signed zip image file you downloaded earlier.
Select your device on the ASUS flash Tool by clicking on the serial number like shown in the picture below.
( It had me scratch my head after one failed attempt because I didn't select it the first time! :silly
Click on the green start button, be patient, stay calm and cross your fingers. This could take 10-20minutes or so.:fingers-crossed:
If everything went well your phone should bootup to the welcome screen like the day 1 you got it.
Now, the zip image is quite old so after the initial setup the phone would prompt you with lots of system and app updates. Go with it and enjoy! :victory:
Lastly, don't be shy of pressing that " :good:Thanks! " button if this post helped you.
Thanks man, I will try tonight. Do you know if this works under Windows 8.1 64bits??. I see the screenshots are from windows 7.

Hopefully it should, I did it on a Windows 7 Professional 64 bit machine.
The USB drivers you download has Windows 8 drivers in it. I think that's all that is needed.
Yeah, I will try it then, and report back, thanks again.

IT WORKEEEED!!!! I dont know how to thank you man!. Thank you so much, I was going to give up on this device!. Its working really well.
The only thing I came into trouble, was to install the USB drivers included in the Asus Flash Tool. I did the following (on Windows 8.1 64bits):
I disabled driver signature check first on windows.
I went to the USB drivers folder inside the ASUS Flash tool folder on Program Files.
I went here C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ASUS Flash Tool\Driver\USBDriverInstaller\devcon\x64
On that folder, there is a program called devcon.exe, right click on it, and select properties.
On compatibility tab select Run as Administrator, click ok.
After this, reinstall USB drivers by going to C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ASUS Flash Tool\Driver\USBDriverInstaller and here execute install_drivers.bat
Thats it, the phone now should be recognized by the Asus Flash Tool.

Those raw files are extremely difficult to find so if you pretend to have any of those phones i recommend to download. It works easily if you have fastboot. If you only have adb i did not saw working but i am trying.
---------- Post added at 07:38 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:31 AM ----------
If you try to do that under adb they give a serial number mistake.
4 days trying to solve this bootloop using adb. At least one person here saved his phone with the raw links i found using google webcache in this vietnamese link so it was worth it. Looks like i will need to lose 40 days sending to Asus in Sao Paulo. What a hell folks, those asus firmwares are really crap. Set a great hardware for set poor software.
why my phone does not give any reaction when press power button+vol
I had same problem but different situation....I tried to make an experiment by changing systemui and I had done it with a wrong step .lucky I make a backup and tried to recover it.
But Things get worst when it failed to backupbang now my phone get stuck to Asus logo.I tried to follow the method that your all give in this thread but I can go to fastbootode with it must press power button+col down button.
CAN ANYBODY HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM

Your phone is not hard bricked.
Hard brick means that your motherboard is faulty.
Your phone is soft bricked. You can try to reflash, the same procedure, but when you connect the phone press the small red button for 20 secconds.
If its not working, try to reinstall the drivers.
Try and see what is going on!
I have same problem ...i buy phone with this rom: https://www.dropbox.com/sc/22sicuooteaw2vq/AAA5zTMjCDKeVEDh3lqtjyEWa
Then i went to flash stock rom.. i download flash tool and installed all driveres ... i run flash tool and start to flashing rom. Rom file name is: p780_row_s124_140403_rooted_twrp_gapps
After flashing is finished ...my phone is stuck. No power, display is black(no light), no led blink when i connect to charger - nothing.
If i connect phone to pc, phone showing red led light and in device manager on pc it showin me phone like USB Serial device (com6) or MediaTek USB Port(com5) on windows7 ...no more mt6589.

Hi. To do a good job you must tell us what firmware do you want to install: KitKat(Android 4.4.2) or JellyBean(Android 4.2.2).
After that you must know what kind of firmware Stock or Custom.
Or... do you want to start your phone again.
I need one picture of your phone box with stickers on it! There you will see when your phone is made.
This are 2 kinds of phones: made after 03.2014 or before 03.2014.
For those made after 03.2014 you must use a diferent preloader.
I think this is what happent to your phone.
Flash procedure is the same but you must change the preloader.
Here is a link with one preloader and one good firmware.
Link: https://drive.google.com/folderview...VQ3pJeG9vTlh4Y3pMUG9ES3FtX21ZdjlwVzY3VWc#list
This firmware is KitKat, based on CN firmware. It have GAPPS and is ROOTED.
Here is what i use: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p780/development/miui-lenovo-p780-t2976347
Good firmware too. It have custom recovery TWRP and GAPPS. ROOTED too. It is KITKAT.
Hope this helps you.
Good Luck.
Tnx for fast respond ...here is pic:

Baseband must be flashed from custom recovery like TWRP or CWM.
For flashng firmware check the drivers... what windows do you use ?
My display not working, so flashing through rcvy is not an option for me :/
...I use w10 on my pc, and w7 on my laptop...

Replaced screen not working

So basically my display+digitizer broke and went on for search of a new one. Got 2 brand new screen (i thought first one was not working), installed it but only the buttons show up and there is a black and bright screen coming on and off.
Tried charging it, power + buttom to try to force shut down. Disconnected the power cable from battery to turn off completely and nothing works. I think the phone is gone, any ideas?

I guess i am having problems getting it to EDL mode since i cannot see anything on the screen. Wouldnt be any problem in hardware? since the screen broke cause i dropped it.

Your original cracked screen, have you tried plugging it in to see if it works?
Just to double check when you're replacing the screens is the device powered off?

and now it shows as a portable device > Le max 2 in device manager again
Update:
Ok so when the device is turned on normally shows as Le Max 2, once i tried vol + - and power, i guess it goes to EDL mode.
Onces on EDL then the proper driver tries to install and on device manager shows as QUSB_BULK while trying
Then the installation fails and again shows as QUALCOMM port 3 but with an exclamation mark that has not been installed properly.
I guess this is the main reason the flash does not work.

Derp! After checking it out? I think those drivers from that forum link I sent you are out of date sorry... They seem to cause issues for Windows 10 users. :\
This guide has the latest 2017 drivers with updated win 10 driver signature support
http://www.androidbrick.com/leeco-letv-x820-max-2-qdloader-9008-unbrick-twrpguide/
I just gave it a shot and they installed fine for me. I'd recommend uninstalling the previous ones first to ensure they don't cause issues.

MTP not working, but OTG is ... really need help

Hello,
I'm using a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro.
I noticed that my USB was not working properly when I tried to use it with my DJI drone.
I then plugged it to my PC and nothing was happening. :crying:
I tried on 3 different PCs including an iMac, no reaction.
My girlfriend has the same phone and it works fine on the same PCs, so it's really coming from my phone.
I check in the developer options and MTP is activated.
I tried from the recovery (TWRP) and same thing, not data transfer at all.
I changed rom (from miui to lineage OS) and it didn't change anything.
For some reason, using an OTG cable with a usb stick or mouse works fine
Do you have any idea ?
could it be a hardware problem ? if so, why is OTG working ?
Thanks for your help

If OTG works fine , your phone isn't the problem at all .
Try to get a new USB Cable , the one you're using might be faulty.

Is your device recognized by ADB or Fastboot ?
It may not recognize it , but we never know, if it recognize your device, you'll be able to use the push/pull commands to transfer file with it.
That's anoying , because I never faced this issue , that was always because I didn't enable MTP.
hey...if I m not wrong it is with your drivers ..assuming u r on pc...go to local disk c: and find this file or search "wpdmtp.inf " in search panel ... if u find it proceed to next .....if u cannot then u have to run cmd with admin privileges and type there sfc/scannow wait for it to finish the system verification ....now if u found wpdmtp.inf then simply click on it and copy and paste on ur desktop and from thereon right click on it and tap install ..do it 2-3 times until u got ur device popping out on ur desktop ......

go adb...and copy any file inzip ..say 1.zip(in c:adb)and open cmd from there and type
adb devices
adb fastboot
adb push 1.zip/sdcard/1.zip if it succeeds then u r good to go with ur device if not then it's totally due to ur phone
or do this
1) boot into bootloader
2) start recovery from bootloader
3) use adb push to copy a file to the /sdcard
4) done
