Just so you know you posted this in the wrong section.
But to help you..
1.Restore to a previous Rom (Hope you did a backup before flashing anything else?)
2.Install Flash Image GUI
3. Flash Boot.
4. Go into Recovery
5. Flash Rom
6. Reboot and you should be good.
Note- Never forget to Wipe

Flash this RUU for the EVO 3D GSM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1208485
Just choose the RUU that fits your devices (DONT Flash the Sprint ones its for CDMA HTC EVO 3D)
Flash the EU ones , this will get you back to Gingerbread (2.3.3) and from there you can update your phone OTA for ICS. Before flashing ICS Roms, YOU NEED S-OFF ! , S-ON only unlocks the bootloader not the boot partition ! .

So your problem is solved?
and, you tried Installing KingCobra 1.6.
To install 1.6 you HAVE to be S-OFF in order to flash the new firmware.
However, if you want to use KingCobra, download version 1.5, it will work perfectly on an S-ON device!
Hope this helps!

Exactly the same for me. I did this many times before -- This time it bootloops -- seems like something goes wrong with the /boot partition. Could be an error in writing the boot cause even that I have S-OFF i use the smartflash method which worked perfectly for me till now... I think it has something to do with the recovery. Maybe you try the latest TWR - as long as you have s-off you can flash any recovery over fastboot. Hope you get it back rollin' cause I have no USB-Cable though
So I got it --- The issue that's causing this error was 4ext like expected. Just flash CWM recovery(not touch!) (mind the button mapping -- Powerbutton = back, camerabutton = accept) then make a factory reset, flash your rom and then it should(!) work Tell me if that worked for you!
so i went to switch out my battery and when i turned the phone back on it vibrated and displayed the white htc screen, then went black for a second and then stays on the white htc screen forever! Im a total noob when it comes to all the technical stuff about RUU's Kernels Roms and whatnot. I can get to bootloader, but i tried to do factory reset and it showed a green circle with a loading bar but then it changed into a red triangle with an exclamation. I tried flashing amon ra recovery but it doesnt work, although TWRP works. While in TWRP though, whenever i try to flash a zip file, it fails and says something like E:failed to mount /cache E:failed to mount /system E:failed to mount /data. Please help me i need this phone working to help me at my job. If someone can walk me through what i need to do i would REALLLYYYY appreciate it. Like i said though, i am a noob so i need realy stupified instructions lol. Thanks

First you should go to shipped-roms.com and download the vigor ics ruu.exe, the rezound downloads there are under vigor . Plug your phone into your computer and from hboot highlight fastboot press power and run the .exe file from your computer and follow the on screen instructions, this will return your phone to full stock ics. Make sure you download the vigor ics ruu.exe as the GB ruu will not work with s-on.
You can also download this: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...ull-ruu-build-4-03-605-2-for-the-htc-rezound/ it's the latest ruu it'll update your hboot, stock recovery, rom, and radios, to latest stock. Just download, rename the zip file to PH98IMG (don't include .zip it is a zip file it'll add it on its own in hboot) put it on your sd card, not in a folder just on. Put it back in your phone and boot to bootloader and runn the update, when it powers off. Run it again. (As it has to update the hboot to 2.27 first)Then you'll be on the stock latest. Then root and Rom from there. Of you need help pm me for my gtalk and I could walk you thru it..

Same exact problem. Installing zip now, god i hope this works!!
So my screen is the exact same, i tried to flash a kernal for not only wrong phone but wrong carrier too. Anyways no OS, when i try to flash either of the ways you have explained they both dont work. When i put it on the sd card as PH98IMG it looks like it loads it in the upper right then thats it. regular bootload screen after that nothing happens. try to load it by opening the application after im plugged in as fasboot usb and the program says Install script setup launcher has stopped working. I have been able to flash liquids rom and looks as if it is booting but waited 24 min and nothing happpend just stayed on boot screen. So im just trying to get back to RUU then work from there.

You need to extract the boot.IMG from liquid Rom and rename it ph98img and put that on your sd card or in the folder with adb and fastboot flash it using fastboot flash boot boot.img

I ended up flashing liquidsmooth rom in recovery then had to wipe factory data reset, then i could wipe dalvick cache then when i rebooted it actually booted the rom and I LOVE IT. Still having some issues tho.
Still cant get my computer to talk to my phone when in fastboot usb i cant get any devices when i do "adb devices" cmd.
It says devices listed below but no devices.
Also im still stuck on TWRP 2.2 and I cant my 2.6 to flash in recovery. - Still troubleshooting this and might get it in a bit.
Thanks for the suggestions!!!

ooooh older stuff ick lol...do you have your htc sync drivers installed....what os are you on? are you s-on? what hboot you on? you need to be wiping before rom install and not after....are your issues pertaining to random reboots?

Yes i did reinstall my HTC Sync drivers, I have been wipining factory reset, cache, system, dalvick cache before i flash a new rom. I am S-On. Havent really determined a reason to go s-off yet, i am messing up my phone good enough with this let alone a paperclip. no problem with random reboots. I finally decided to go to a custom rom bc i was sick of my phone rebooting for OTA updates then being late for work. So the 3 roms i have now tried are Liquid smooth which i liked but i couldnt get mms messages to show up on phone. Also it wouldnt change from silent to a beep for text message notifications. i could select it but it would stay as silent. So.... I flashed ViperRezROm which i just didnt like the look and theme. So i finally flashed Cyanogen ROM and come to find out its the same kernal as Liquid smooth so it looks the same and I like that but I still cant change the notification from silent to a beep for text messages. So i never know when i get a text.
Still working on trying to flash a newer version of TWRP.
Then this time flashing I tried to titanium backup and went to load my backup and it cant find it.... WTF
UGH... Learning so much with this stuff. just taking alot of patience.
Thanks again for yalls support, I love this forum.
Mike
BTW just to note...if your bootloader is locked fastboot flash methods will not work 90 percent of the time...if you flashed liquid 3.0 that's more than likely your problem with mms as that is a beta...but on more recent 4.3 builds mms is fixed...and no its not the same kernel...just similar source code...liquid 2.9 does not have this mms issue...any random reboots on 4.2 are caused by min frequency not set right at 384 mhz and using amon ra to flash or not doing a proper clean flash....I do recommend s-off as it will make life much easier for you for modding things or flashing custom zips and for future flashing back to full stock if needed as its not possible while s-on...you can always pm me for help as I've yet to run into an error I can't fix unless posted in op caused by source

There is a few good reasons to S-Off.
1.No need to fastboot flash kernels
2.can RUU if needed
3.can flash recovery updates (cwm, twrp) as ph98img zips
4. Can keep bootloader ***locked***
5. No more ***tampered*** tag after you RUU
Scenario: you are out and about (or a computer isn't handy) somehow you are in an infinite bootloop. You nandroid restore. But it is something on boot partition. Only way to fix this while S-On is fastboot flashing a boot.img, but if you were S-Off, you would have restored the boot image from the nandroid.
Edit: added 5th reason

I finally went S-OFF to help another user get step by step to restore to fully locked and stock ruu. I decided to leave it S-OFF. It's so nice to be able to just load a rom and not have to do anything else (other than wiping). It makes changing/upgrading rom's a breeze.
I highly recommend it. It seems scary, but once you have done it once, you will not go back.
But be warned, never go back to S-ON on a non-HTC hboot... you will hard brick your device. That is the only real threat I've heard about... if you never go back to S-ON, then you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Just about any error can be fixed except for going s-on on a non-ruu hboot.
Thanks

You tried to install a One X rom on your One X+? And you wonder why it does not work? You know there's a ViperX+ rom?
In order to get your backup working you have to flash the right kernel/boot.img. In case wou want to stay with stock rooted, you can try installing nik3r's stock kernel. If you want to install another rom, you have to do it via "adb sideload" command. You can find information about this in hasoon2000's tutorial in the HTC One X+ Genereal forum.

I'm sorry but I don't know that there is a ViperX+ rom. Is ViperX+ the best customized rom for HOX+ or you have another one that you can recommend. If you want a rom for your phone, you have to take one out of the One X+ forums, others (for One X) won't work. And whatever rom you chose, you have to install the correct boot.img, normally you can also find them on the first post of every rom thread.
I can't recommend ViperX+ because i never used it. But since you wanted to install the One X version, you should just try ViperX+ and see if you like it.
So what you have to do is:
- Download rom & boot.img
- flash boot.img in fastboot
- go to recovery and install rom using "adb sideload" (already told you where you can find the how to)
- reboot phone
be patient, first boot may take some minutes. you will know that everythings alright when you're not stuck at the HTC quietly brilliant screen

In my case, ViperX+ makes my phone a little bit hotter than others. However, it's the best rom for those who want to customize. I prefer Eleganica rom. Be sure that you choose the right rom for you phone. In your case it's Internation rom Elegancia 6.1. Just use sideload to flash. I'm sure that hasoon has posted the guide howto use sideload. Nothing to worry.

I will try what you said and will find the link for the rom and the boot.img in this HOX+ forum and not the other (thanks for pointing that out to me) Will update you once i'm have got the files that are needed and instructions on how to do it.

I have search google and found the site of ViperX and I am downloading ViperX+ 1.04 rom right now plus ViperX+ 1.04 Kernel and Recovery. My question right now is where to get the boot.img or is the boot.img the one inside the zip package of the ViperX+ rom? Thanks

Guys thank you so much for the help, I have successfully loaded the ViperX+ Rom via sideload. :good:
Hi,
I have a Sprint CDMA HTC EVO 3D. I tried root and get S-OFF for it. Unfortunately I failed and now the phone fail to boot.
Below is what I did from which you might be able to diagnose it and give me suggestions.
(1) The original status of mu phone is:
Stock rom, I never root it before.
HBOOT-1.58.0000
Android Version: 4.03
HTC Sense version: 3.6
Software version: 2.95.651.6.710RD
(2) My root procedures:
I followed this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1813818
I successfully unlocked phone with HTCDev, successfully Flashed 4EXT recovery, and successfully installed Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip. I also booted into sytem, everything worked well.
However I failed in next step of JuopunutBear's Wire Trick (S-OFF). When I ran ControlBear.exe, it finally hanged there.
Current status of my phone:
Unfortunately I did not make a backup to my original ROM, so there is no way to revert back by restoring backup.
Now the phone is in unlocked status, I was able to boot to HBOOT and also enter 4Ext recovery, however I am not able to boot into Android. If I try to boot into Android, it always hang at black screen.
I am able to boot to fastboot (USB) mode, I tried to flash some stock ROM (listed at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24268786&postcount=209), but I failed. For example, I ran a RUU of 2.89.exe, it detected my phone version is 2.95, and further update RUU failed.
Looks like my partition is ruined, but I might be wrong.
ANyone can help me to restore my phone to working status? At least I need the phone to be able to boo to Android.
Here are also some tries that I ever did:
(1) I ever put the PG86IMG.zip file (downloaded from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21593454&postcount=564) to my sdcard, still failed.
(2) I ever formatted all partition from 4EXT recovery

EDIT:
Okay. I've got some questions.
1. You're stuck on some black screen as you said. It boots past the white HTC splash and then it's stuck on that black screen, right. Do you mean the juopunutbear "arrow screen" - juopunutbears boot.img?
2. I think if you had flashed the original boot img everything would have been fine.
3. The easiest way is to flash to stock, so lets try to figure out why it doesn't flash.

Yes, after I was stuck with black juopunutbear screen, I took battery out, reboot again, never was able to root to Android. I am only able to boot to HBoot.

And you can boot to recovery, right?
EDIT:
One more thing. Which ruu were you trying to run
Edit2:
What's your CID? Use "fastboot getvar cid" or "fastboot oem readcid" (without quotes).
Edit3:
BTW, this was on the wire trick page... http://unlimited.io/jbtroubleshooting.htm - TROUBLESHOOTING There was everything you needed to know when you failed at something. Remember that page. You may need it the next time you try to do the wiretrick.
Q: Were you using a linux distro for the wire trick and did you use the appropriate files for wire trick since GB and ICS have separate tools?
If you want I may assist you in gaining s-off if we get this thing functional again.
Yes, I am able to boot to recovery.
I tried ROM's here

and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22519105#post22519105
I tried 2.17, 2.89, unfortunately none of them worked
My CID is SPCS_001

Aw man, I'm completely sorry I didn't see this: Software version: 2.95.651.6.710RD
That means, no RUU for you cause htc/sprint wasn't kind enough to provide the ruu. Also FYI you can't flash a ruu lower than your current one.
So your best bet is to flash the most stock 2.95 cdma rom you could find and right after, flash the stock cdma evo 3d kernel through fastboot or 4ext (I think 4ext smartflash does the same thing). Try to find something that's COMPLETELY STOCK - with no mods whatsoever or if you couldn't find any, try something that's almost* stock. That should get you booting and you can try s off again.
Edit: This shall work. http://www.negalite.com/index.php?topic=21.0 Try it and report back!!!
Now I only want to revert my phone to stock, not considering root at present time.
I searched 2.95 ROM, unfortunately the highest version that I can find is 2.89. Does this mean I have no way to revert my phone to live? Thanks a lot.

Flash like a normal rom and don't forget to flash the boot img because that's what's really causing you problems right now. I'd choose the deodexed one from there.
My HBoot screen shows below:
SHOOTER XC SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.58.000
RADIO-1.09.00.0108
OpenADSP-v02.6.0.2226.00.0217
DO you think I still have chance to save my device? Thanks a lot.

If you have access to the recovery, most likely, yes.
Hello MrJyrks,
Thank you so much for the link! I am eager to try that. Before I do that I think I shall ask two questions to avoid further mess up the device:
Question #1: To install the deodexed rom, which is the correct way:
(1) Rename the ZIP file to PG86IMG.ZIP, put to root of sdcard, then boot, letting the Bootloader to do the update.
(2) In 4EXT recovery, enable smartflash, enable script asserts, then install the zip from the root of sdcard.
Question #2: You said I shall flash boot image, can you tell me how to do this? I mean, where shall I get the boot image file? Flash it with 4EXT? SHall I do it before or after install ROM zip file?
Thank you very much for your helps!!!

I tried install the stock ROM from your link (using 4EXT with smartflash enabled and script asserts enabled.) . Amazing that installation completed successfully (indeed this is the first ROM zip that I was able to install successfully since I mess up the device). When I exit After that, it did some further update which I guess is the boot.img that you mentioned.
4EXT it said 'a pending update for your boot partition is detected' and I think it was doing the boot image flash that you mentioned, right?
Unfortunately when I boo the device, I still got black screen.
Now I am unlocked and also rooted (since I successfully installed superuser in 4EXT). DO you think I shall lock the devioce before installing the stock ROM? If so, one possible issue is that if I relock the device, I found 4EXT is not available. In that case, how shall I install the ROM zip file?
Thanks.

Further update:
I flashed boot image by: fastboot flash boot boot.img which is included in the stock ROM zip file.
The flash went successfully. However, I am still not able to boot to Android. WHat I have is the device hang there, alternatively displaying logo with white background, and black screen.

Oh, and if, in the future, you do try the wire trick and get stuck at some point you can revert the changes with ControlBear -r or ControlBear -f from command line. And you may also PM me if you need any help. Cheers!

Similar problem, can't return to stock
I have a problem similar to lsdyna's, and am hoping that even though this post is old, MrJyrks or someone might be able to help me.
I am unsuccessfully trying to return my phone to stock. First a bit of history.
I had 2.95.651.6.710RD s-on hboot 1.58 Android Version: 4.03 HTC Sense version: 3.6 on my phone, and wanted root. I didn't need s-off, just wanted to root so could do some tweaking (stop some apps from autostarting, stop some form getting network access, etc.) so loaded 4EXT Recovery Touch, and got root (fastboot oem get_identifier_token method), got superuser in there, and happily began tweaking. Famous last words... I didn't make a backup right away (learned my lesson!) and suddenly found a 'overtweaked' sluggish phone on my hands.
Thought best thing would be to lose the root & return to stock & start over, carefully, making backups.
So I used Fastboot (fastboot oem lock) to lock it (worked) and proceeded to try to load RUU_Shooter_ICS_35_S_Sprint_WWE_2.89.651.2_Radio_1.09.00.0706__NV_NV_SPCS_1.43_release_271101_signed.exe into it [via my computer], but didn't realize until reading MrJyrks post that a lower RUU couldn't be used.
I now am relocked (phone does boot up, but can tell the system tweaks are still slogging it), lost the recovery, and wondering what to do... do I try putting recovery back in & using the Negalite 2.95 stock deodex ROM MrJyrks mentioned? If so, how do I use that zip file method verses the exe one I tried thru my computer?
Thanks for the help
You had issues with the RUU because your main version is higher than that contained in the RUU.
Unlock, flash recovery again. Boot into recovery and flash this zip: https://copy.com/wlVvwssXXNN00Pe
That will lower your main version. Relock the bootloader, put the phone into fastboot USB mode, then run the RUU while in fastboot USB mode.
Should be back to stock after that.
Hi everyone,
I"m using ShooterU with s-off revolutionary,
hboot version is 1.49.1107, radio 11.25.3504.06_M
opendsp (if needed) is on version 02.6.0.2226.00.0202
I have 4ext version 1.0.0.6 rc6, build 8
Well, my problem is that I can"t install anything on recovery, everything what I want to install just freezes when it begins to install new system partition, I also cannot format this partition, I don"t remember if 4ext uses the kernel from actual rom or if it has an independent one ....
Well, tried fastboot already with Philz recovery and original TWRP recovery, but it just returns a error message: "FAILED <remote: image update recovery error>"
Tried everything, 4ext is also freezing if it just displays the available partitions on an infoscreen on my phone...I really don"t know what happened, it worked for years, but since I"ve got myself a new digitizer because the old one was broken, the phone got a bootloop (I don"t thing it is a hardware problem, I remember some weird bugs on rom yas v11, but I could get rid of it just by simply reinstalling the rom using recovery), so I just wanted to install my old ROMs which worked in the past, which also are on my old sdcard, yas11, yas12 beta 8 and also coolics I think, all using AROMAInstaller....they just freeze if I attempt to install a new rom....already tried to format the partitions on 4ext itself with ext4 filesystem and also tried permssions repair, but it just freezes on system partition...
Please, help me out, if it doesn"t work out, I have to install original RUU and it would be a shame, because it would be really a bad downgrade with big disadvantages...and I really don"t remember how to get s-off and revolutionary doesn"t exist anymore and I also know that there are some problems with hboot 1.50...and HTC dev s-off is also not an option, because of locked boot partition ... I don"t remember, it is some time ago I used my phone, it was in my drawer for about 2 years, now the hardware is repaired and has a new battery..
Please, I really don"t know what happened, I just want to use my phone, I really need it.
I would be really glad, if someone could help me out.

You can run a RUU without any problems. It won't afect security flag (your phone will remain s-off after RUU flash) after that you can upgrade your firmware as you see fit

Hi, I'm the thread starter, the first nickname is my cousin, I had his notebook in the reach of my hands
We already tested to install original RUU, but it failed, it doesn't install anything, because it makes no progress after first reboot with openend RUU...should I install a new hboot somehow or what should I do?
I try to use this debrick-thing for which I have to use Linux....or shouldn't I?

How exactly did you install the RUU?
I just rebooted the phone to hboot and simply started the RUU , following the requests from itself...when it said it reboots the phone, the phone reboots, but it doesn't get past "waiting for bootloader" ...maybe I have done a mistake, because I relocked the revolutionary hboot to do a RUU, because I thought it wouldnt work without relocking, but I don't have set the securewriteflag-3 (sorry for spell mistakes)
I didn't touched the phone since starting this thread, but I have now a working notebook to do some work on my phone instead of using my cousin's notebook , so I can reply faster .
Thank you very much for replying, you sure know, that there aren't many active users, who still use this phone
